      junior mma is legal in the UK - there are no head shots or twisting locks - Its IBBJF rules with body strikes

    • @wishusknight3009
      @wishusknight3009 Год назад +73

      The rules are quite strict. Injuries of kids below 11 are very rare in these leagues, and from what I understand result more from training than the actual bouts. And in fact MMA is far _far_ safer than Muay Thai where head shots are allowed with many places not even using protection or adequate gloves.

      @@FullContactContender The other day I watched a league from India and it was horrific. No head protection for head shots being allowed, and full ground'n pound was acceptable. The ref was also honestly terrible in that he didn't seem to pay attention and have his sight on the fighters at all times. Several times one kid got hit in the back of the head and then was starting to apply an arm bar just as the ref changes his lazy orbit around the cage not paying attention. It was a count of 4 or 5 seconds before he finally noticed the one kid tapping. Those leagues would be illegal in the west.

    This is the perfect start for any kid who wants an mma career. There are so many idiots in the comments who didn't actually watch the video and don't understand the rules. Head shots aren't allowed for starters. Kids this age are as likely to get brain damage on a playground or from tripping and falling. Literally doing any sort of physical activities. You want your kid to be a fucking marshmallow then let them do nothing all day. This sport teaches them to defend themselves, be respectful to one another, and work ethic. All of this will be valuable throughout their lives.

    This is cool! I almost think wrestling is more ideal at this age because it builds foundation, has more competition, and leads to less injury. but any work is good work.

    Someone needs to call CPS. These kids skulls still have 15 plus years to fully develop. Migraines for the rest of their life with serious medication. Then and only then do parents ask for sympathy and help. It’s to late.

      @@FullContactContender what about when they turn 13,14,15,16,17. I have two boys, one did karate and football and now 21 with a bunch of head issues. Guess which one has the head issues? It’s not going to be a good outcome for most kids.

    • @FullContactContender
      @FullContactContender  Год назад

      @conquerunderstanding7517 they would still be classes as juniors so no head shots.

    • @FullContactContender
      @FullContactContender  Год назад

      @conquerunderstanding7517 from the studies that are available American football has the highest probability of head issues over them two sports. However I'm guessing there's alot more football being played over karate players. So it's hard to gauge.

    i was about to seriously question this, then i remembered two things.
    1. i hate kids,why should i care what happens.
    2. i recalled when i wasn't much older i used an improv whip made of a short cut hose and when "play fighting" with a neighbor ,to "defend my base" i might have kinda sorta somewhat incidentally struck him with the metal end riiiight at the base of the skull and neck....i swear, in 3 decades i have never seen a human drop flat so fast, it struck,thud,tick tock flat on his face a second later, took about a minute for him to move or anything, stopped playing for the day,never heard about it again.... i figure if that was fine so is this.
