I'm glad yesung was being harsh to them. They needed to understand that being good at dancing doesn't mean you don't have to know how to sing, that if they wanted to debut and be successful, they couldn't be good at only one thing.

Agreed. Even if it was a bit harsh, the message needed to be delivered. It’ll probably be remembered even better since it was so harsh. It takes so much more than just being able to dance, or to sing. To be successful - you need to have strength in all three areas.

@@robertjv Uh, he's already helping them by giving useful advice so they can improve themselves and be the best.
@@robertjv if you are in a competition, dont you think you need to gear up yourself with all of your best, coz even the smallest mistake can kick you out of the competition. And yesung was not harsh at all, he came there as a professional who need to wake these young ones that they're not simply there just for that show but they are in this show that will change their future if only they will participate on it seriously and see the big picture ahead. Yesung's advice was really from his heart since it was his own experience from his trainee days that he shared to them.
Edited: btw, yesung was once a trainee too, and i can assure you that kpop trainings now are not on par when it comes to hardships that the past trainings during 2nd generation era(not sure with 1st gen coz I've only seen the 2nd gen's harsh trainings: like tvxq, suju, 1day(2am/2pm) and others), it was like a Spartan training compared to today's training where they all have the "perfect and easy" guide to be in line with the Kpop stardom. Im not saying it is easy now to become a kpop artist, it is still hard but not as hell like as how they did it way back.
All SJ members are crazy and dork together, but when it comes to practice/ performance on stages, they all really serious bout that 👍🏽
I totally agree. When I watched them practicing black suit in super tv, I was really amazed because it only took them 4 hours to get almost all of their steps. They are all amazing and legend indeed.

Its such a good thing that they called yesung, because he is much much more than just a hyung who gets bullied by his dongsaengs.....not saying in a bad way because we all love hyukjae's imitation of him....but this really shows that he is THE MAIN VOCAL of SJ in which everyone has amazing voices........His experience, expertise and skills are one of the best in Korea.
Agreed. I've never seen this side of Yesung before, but I was not surprised when I saw it. Being a singer is not easy, especially for someone like him who has to be able to sing high and difficult notes. I'm glad that they brought him in to give him his expertise in vocals, because his voice was something he put his blood, sweat, and tears into.

@@hominjung6784 I'm always picturing his live performances of his solo song "Here I am" when he's mentoring them. Like a voice like his or any main vocal's voice is not easy to get

It’s good that Yesung is being harsh to them. This industry is hard, earning a place in it is definitely not easy either. Although they’re team performance, they need to focus on vocal too. You can see that their dance is pretty unsynchronised, the vocal is an absolutely minus too. Being an idol means you have to have both of the factors. They can improve later, but they need the base. Not just focusing on one and throwing the other away. Yesung shows them the reality so they can do it better, he’s been there, he’s been in their place so he knows they need to put more efforts than what he saw.
agree... all off the team can't just focus on their own... because they will became idol group, vocal team need more practice ini dancing, performance team need more practice in singing and rapper also need more practice in dancing..

DREAM We do have some glimpse on each shows that the SM Artists appearing on, I'm also including Lay as one of them because he's also an SM artist, just that he's not with his members and is in China. Anyways, we can see how they are and can guess of how they would train their trainees. From what I see so far, SM Mentors would be strict and serious, and point out your fault, however, they would also help you with opening arms if you ask them, and they would buy you some food for treats, but it won't be on camera AND you have to work hard and be determined to earn that cause that's what SM likes. They will find your strong points and aspect and make them improve on those things, they don't force anything out of you, but will guide you your strong aspects and will find a way for you to be comfortable with that.

I watched One Song last month where he mentioned about his tough past in his trainee days so seeing him giving his wise advice as a vocal coach to those trainees made me feel complex feeling so happy and proud that the guy I've been watching for 10 years has come far till this place. 😭😭😭 I am so proud of you and will keep supporting you Yesung-ah.
