Yes I think about every TV cop show has taken the characters and situations and tried to copy them because the show was original. See so many actors that their characters are so close to this show
Yes, I agree that Liz was a pain in the ass however as the years went on and her and Barney got older I think Liz became more worried about his safety. I love this show.
But this made for a new story angle. Eventually the character was written off the show as the focus shifted more toward the squad room and less on home life.
