She was corrupted by the Dark Hold. Which is why she did those villainous things. In all fairness she just wanted her children. She wasn't a bad person, she just did bad things because of being manipulated by the Dark Hold. In the end she sacrificed herself (dunno if she's really dead tho. I hope not) to make sure that no one would become corrupted by it ever again. That seems like an act of heroism to me
