    The wonderful Peggy Mount.. She was a star. The casting for this was superb. Those were the days, comic office cleaners and the tea trolley coming around at break time. Always a happy working environment and no stress. Love this film.

    Still a great film in 2021. Hats off to the cast,stirling job!
    British film with great British actresses and actors..
    I wish people still spoke with those accents. Loved it.

    What a great film, brilliant cast & storyline....it’s so English & that adds to its undoubtable charm...along with tea and toast it always cheers me up.

      Not crumpets? Scones? Biscuits? Ithought the only Toast in the UK was served with Matt Berry on it...Anyway I'm five minutes in and so far only the accents and the bowler hats mark it as foreign to the US!

    This was a delightful comedy. Peggy Mount and Robert Morley were hilarious without trying.

    Aw bless - splendid and underrated performances from gems Avril Elgar and Miriam Karlin. Great character acting by those two wonderful ladies in particular.

    Such a great film. . Love it. . I remember seeing it it at the cinema back in the day in 1963.. "It's All Over Town" pop film was the B film on with it. ...

    "Don't do nothin' illegal. And if you do, don't get caught "! That has been my mantra for many many years. One of the best pieces of advice I've ever gotten. The 2nd piece of advice I've always lived by is never admit you're at fault. Just state the facts as they are asked and nothing more.

    Characterful cast move the story line along garnished by a historical backdrop of our evolving culture of using elbow grease and nouse to make the most of arising opportunities.... very British.

    I swear a very young, waifish (until she opened her mouth,) Juliette Kaplan played the communistic, worker's party Mrs. Higgins.
    BUT
    IMDB says it was Miriam Karlin.
    I'm sure they're right but still.
    In the film, that chick looks and talks just like Juliette Kaplan......

      A lot were sent off to so called new towns like Milton Keynes (the place with no roads and plastic cows in the middle of fields.)
      It destroyed the London communities... Believe me you would not recognise the East end now its Mass migrant land and those terreced houses are still standing but full of migrants who were allowed to buy them up cheap by the successive govts.
      😡😡😡
      I'm a Londoner and moved out because no one speaks English anymore. 💩

    isnt it weird that this channel is called event horizon like the sci fi movie with lawrence fishborne and sean pertwee jon pertwees son and jon pertwee happens to be in this film. is this a coincidence or did you put this in as a test for fans.
