Without getting too in depth, every damage inflicting move can either have what’s referred to as a “high roll” or a “low roll”. So water pulse, while having a fixed base damage, will do slightly different amounts of damage every time you use it. This game mechanic is purely based on chance and there is no way to guarantee a high roll or a low roll when you use a move.
Not trying to be rude but, the actual reason that killed was because of wartortle’s ability “torrent”, boosting its water moves by 50% when below 33% of its max hp. But high rolls and low rolls are real, just didn’t happen here.
Another good idea for a 100 days would be a weather team 100 days. It would be a great test to see how much you’ve improved, since weather teams usually need specific pokemon and require great team synergy and the right abilities. In weather teams, not having the right ability can make a pokemon that is usually great completely worthless.
