World's Safest City Is In AFRICA!? Kigali, Rwanda (#75)

  • Let's be honest, we all have preconceptions about Africa before going there. But if there's one country in Africa that you may have heard good things about in the media, it's Rwanda. It's so clean and organized, they said. But reading about it is one thing, actually experiencing it was another. I wasn't expecting at all what I found in Kigali, being that the country was destroyed barely over 20 years ago. I was so shocked that I had to go and support Rwanda in a basketball game, and see if I could help them over the top against the mighty Cape Verde.

Yes it is. I'm also black in South America and it is possible but it will take alot of work and time. Some people won't get rid of their bad habbits it will take them some time to adapt to it. We started cleaning campains all around the city and educated people on tv and gave them flyers and info and started adding more trash bins and recycling bins for only cans and plastic bottles for recycling and i have to say my country is cleaner then ever. Some people may continue their bad habbits but it's verry mininal now so to make a change people need to do something about it.

Rwandans are a proud people and for a very good reason.

Rwanda (Kigali so far, anyway), seems to give a look at what Africa could end up looking like it in a fully modern future.
Can't wait to see if you go and explore the rest of the country

Tom,I have just re-ignited my contact with yt to be able to tell you that I never miss one of your uploads.
I have been making some bad decisions of late and you bring me peace and you have bought a tear to my eyes on several occasions. I enjoy the purity and the smiley face you travel with, you bring a smile and plenty of giggles. I have travelled in U.S;Ozz;and Europe, learnt languages to get a bed + conversation+ food, not at the same time. I used to be confident smiley traveller but had it knocked out of me with life stuff. I wonder how many years more you can do it for my friend.

As a Nigerian, I feel like we should borrow Rwandese to come help manage our country. Sadly with all the bright minds we have. First they have to teach us how to live together in peace. At present it's our president using people of his Fulani ethnic group within and from outside Nigeria to disposes natives of their land comiting genocide. Leadership is very important. That's what got Rwanda back on its feet.
