Tall creepy guy in an actual trench coat with his hands in his pockets slowly walking through the building while tension is high "get out" officer in full police gear with 5 other police officers "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS BLUE BLUE BLUE" ofc theres no way for anyone to know but they didnt even look at him, every other cop like screened everyone they stopped but these two just pointed at him from far away. I know I know, hindsight bias and whatever.

The issue is that cops were stuck stereotyping the shooter. They had it initially on their minds that the shooter was the typical student. So seeing a guy in their 60s probably didn't set off any alarms. Also, older people act that way all the time. Still walking in danger and not really caring that much.
I recognized him when they first showed that clip. It was only a second, but I saw him.

@@Pysenn 1 minute to respond and they let the shooter walk out the front door and almost kill another person. the second there is shots fired all the cameras should start scanning people for guns and automaticly send police the image and description of suspect, it would save thouthands of people from shooters with couple lines of code

Any info can be useful in the long. The main goal is to try and give the cops an image of the scene before they attack the issue, but another reason is indeed to give the caller something to focus on instead of panic and terror.
