Easiest way to put it... a management quota seat student will spend the first 10 years post PG earning the money he spent to purchase the seat . Especially so for Radiology.. gone are the days where radio used to be highly earning ..
Guess you havent finished PG bro.. in bangalore we are offered just 1.5L for MD RD and that is the highest paying hospital since it is in peripheral Bangalore ... might be slightly better in north..but i dont think its astonishingly different. After 8 -10 years even ENT will earn 5L plus... till then we are all in same boat
@@Aayushmank Any clinical broad specialist .Makes that much 8 years into private practice. ENT is no exception. Probably you still are a UG or pre PG aspirant who hasnt started practising. 5 years is sufficient time to build a practise that allows you to see on average 30-40 patients a day and atleast 2 OTs per week(even considering the least OPD to OT convesion rate of 5%). Speak to your hospital management co PGs they have an entire section dedicated to statistics regarding the same.

I know so many gen med people who are tied up with many small hospitals and have their own opd and earn easily upto 5-6L per month. This is in mumbai suburbs.
But pre and para branches are really disaster except pathology. Job openings are very limited and private colleges put whims on pre and para guy because they consider them as liability.

Since when did Paediatrics and ObGyn been preferred over Derm and GenSx at higher ranks? Only people who are passionate about it take it at higher ranks. It might sting but the top 4 branches right now are Radio, Medicine, Derm and NucMed. People keep degrading Derm for no reason and no one seems to be bothered by it in counselling as evident by their choices. 😂
There is no saturation if u r willing to work hard... Money will come to u anyway Recently there has been interview from AIIMS kalyani for Senior Resident post. Out of 6 vacancies of General Medicine, only one applied but didn't join. They had to conduct interview again next month to fill the vacancies. Even in our Medical college ( ESI) there were 6 vacancies for SR & only 2 of us have joined... We are short of senior residents in general medicine in our hospital. Regarding earings, I've done DNB Medicine & the other fellow has done MD Medicine... We both get 1.5 lacs per month There is no such bullshit saturation till now but it will be a reality in future. Choose the branch which you like

With the speed new colleges are openimg and the amount of reservations, mgmt and NRI quota in states, over next 10 years the quality of doctors specially MD/MS will deteriorate and it will become all about quantity. Doctors who passed PGs before 2022 will become important and the so called top doctors now will be past 80s in age. Corporate hospital culture will suffer and set ups owned by doctors will be prioritised by patients. The toxic hirarchy will diminish, because it mostly exists in older generations who think like Narayanmurthy. I think after 5-10 yrs, the present practising doctors irrespective of tier of city or branch will be the major backbone of healthcare and will mint money.
Try Kerala or Karnataka. Kerala has some of the best medical colleges in India. The professors are kind and helpful. But the problem is that you will have to learn bit Malayalam for communication
