By far the closest I've heard anyone come to Van Halen. The guitarist has all the chops, but far more importantly, the joy and soul of Ed's playing. Drumming is spot on and the lead vocal takes on a bear and wrestles it to the ground. RIP Eddie.
Jesus!!! I am BLOWN AWAY by how well you guys put this together to near perfection. I am a 50 year-old Van Halen fan and percussionist. The vocals, acoustics, percussion, bass lines...just flawless. I literally got choked up at the very end, thinking I had witnessed the second coming of the Sammy/Michael vocal matchup. Thanks for this, guys.
Well when there all passed away somebody is going to have to play this live and all this music hopefully new jobs will be created since people will beg for this to come back when there's nobody to go see.
This is without a doubt the best cover of Dreams on RUclips! 10* stars. Most importantly you guys got the sound and tone within 99%. This is of Marc Martel quality.
There's a few different components to this cover, so I'm going to pick it apart. Ok, first off. Whoever is in guitar, BRAVO! EVH is often imitated, seldom "duplicated". I think I just witnessed that solo being duplicated. And if it wasn't technically spot on, it was about as close as any mortal can get lol 👍 Secondly the drums are freakin perfect. AVH would be proud. I like the combo of the electric toms & acoustic snare, bass & cymbals. Just like on the original 1986 recording, and Alex's setup for the 5150 tour. The keyboard, and vocals were also amazing. I really tried to find something wrong with this cover, and found nothing! Absolutely incredible job by all! 👍🤘
Sammy's style uses a lot of chest voice while the singer here uses a lot more head voice that's why he sounds "thin" (like Axl Rose or Sebastian Bach). It's much easier to your voice box to sound thin when singing high notes. But how it fits to the song is a different question.
I'm totally taken aback by your video... Wow! This was one of my favorite songs when I was younger. It was the first song I wanted to play when I was learning how to play the drums. It took me a long time, but I eventually got it. My HS boyfriend and I, together with our other friends, played this during a school event. He had really long, straight, shiny hair- And I, on the other hand, had super short hair. Boy, I miss those days. Now, I'm in my 40's and suffer from multiple sclerosis due to lesions in my spinal cord and my brain. I can hardly write or type, let alone play the drums. That's why I love videos like this one. It feels good to reminisce. Thanks so much for sharing. Sending you positive thoughts of love and support from the beautiful Philippine Islands... Sincerely, Francine Hope Drilon @};---
Excellent cover of one of my favorite Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen songs. I wore out two cassette tapes of the "5150" album. Thank God for CDs! RIP Eddie Van Halen. True legends never really die.
Not really. Yes, he hit those high notes but he sounded very thin, almost like Axl Rose. I know a few people who can sing that high but also sounded thin like that, me included 😅. But haven't met anyone who can sound like Sammy Hagar and sing the whole song without sounding fatigued and pitchy towards the middle.
He nailed it, as far as staying in key, and the highs are definitely NOT an issue, but he needs some deepness to his vocals. Not like I could do any better lol He would probably NAIL Rush!!
man.. just no words.. infreakingcredible... the music is spot on. One would think its the original recording. Lead vocals are great too, but it is so hard to match Hagar step for step.. Kudos to everyone!!
