Wonderful video for those who love trains. Spectacular and fantastic. Impeccable image quality: Bravo and Thank you! ***/*** Magnifique vidéo pour celles et ceux qui aiment les trains. Spectaculaire et fantastique. Qualité d'images impeccable: Bravo et Merci!
Magnificent and amazing ! I hope that railroad transportation will not vanish on the continent of North America. The railroad along with the beautiful landscape is the precious human and natural heritage. Thank you, Mr. SantaFe5811.
Been on both sides of the river on the passenger bak in 1960.The cars were beautiful food was great and sleepimg on the train. My Father was a Carman in Sumas so all our travel was free back to Manitoba . For a kid it was a wild adventure we went for a couple years in a row.
While I was in Canada for training with Canadian Pacific I travelled from Calgary to Vancouver by locomotive of freight train.Canada is beautiful country with natural scenes.I wish to visit Canada again.Engr.Nabi Bakhsh Lahore Pakistan
Excellent video. As a Calgarian now for 45 years have been through there several times by road or train, on the way to or from Vancouver or the Island, since the early 60s. Take a bow for a job well done and great angles. Been to everyone of the places you shot from, taking slides in those days. Was impressed with the bighorn sheep on the tracks, otherwise, I don’t really go gaga for long trains.
Nice video. Especially great that you were lucky enough to get a couple of Mountain Sheep along the tracks at Lasha just prior to the Westbound CP Grain Train getting there. I live in Ashcroft BC not far from there and unfortunately a CP train killed a mountain sheep just a little east of Ashcroft a couple of years ago.
Really well done...beautifully photographed. The shot going over the bridges looked like a model railroad! Amazing how many cars a double headed engine can pull.
Can you give more detailed location for the Cisco shot at 2:37 into the video? We are going to be on TransCandian 1 going that way & I don't want to miss this location... Thanks in advance!
Great video, the only thing that has me confused is why would a west bound graintrain be empty, the one at Spencesbridge.,all west bound trains are loaded.and east bound graintrains are empety !
Empty eastbounds are probably in shuttle service between tidewater and the bread basket and ar being hussled back for reloading. However, empty westbounds are puzzling indeed.
At 11:20 you identify a Canadian Pacific train but it's being pulled, and pushed by Canadian National units. Is this a simple mistake or is this train on CP tracks with borrowed or leased motive power?
This is at Cisco, about 6 miles south of Lytton. The first railroad, Canadian Pacific, built up the easiest side of the river. When the second line, Canadian National, was built, they needed to use the other side of the Frazier canyon.

Cool video!! Growing up we would count the number of cars on the train. Wonderful memories. Thanks

It`s a CN train on CP tracks. They share tracks thru the canyon(Fraser and Thompson Rivers)
Excellent video!
CONCORDO.
at around 11:42 in the video you get the CN Train crossing over the 2 bridges where about can you see this from

Like 40, good catch. Full view.
Incredible videos as always. Am I correct in saying the length of these Canadian trains are way in excess of most of what can be seen in the US?
I would really like to ride the Rocky Mountaineer some day.
ive done trips on Rocky Mountaineer, it may be expensive but its totally worth it :)
Better start saving now!
18:53 look in the background
I know the bridges there in Cisco, that's the Fraser not the Thompson? Am I wrong?
The Thompson joins the Fraser at Lytton. Most of the video appears to be on the Fraser?
Pretty sure that’s the Fraser River.
