I recorded this last summer, 2007. I know three of the four originals are still alive. The fourth probably is too. Hugh Geyer, who is in this group here has since left this one and joined the national touring group that are allowed to call themselves "The Vogues". That group has also hired the original lead singer so they have two of the four. You can read about it at "The Vogues" website. Thats about all I know.
There ARE two originals in the group here. Chuck Blasko, on the left and Hugh Geyer, third from the left. Sadly not all four originals are performing together as The Vogues. There is this group (which Hugh has left) and another group that calls themselves the Vogues. That other group has now two originals in it.
I had heard that the National Vogues touring group was coming to Pittsburgh. That would be the group that has Bill and Hugh in it. That is a different group than the one in my video. Hugh has since left the group in my video to join the national group, then Bill joined that group too. So now it has two originals in it now. When they first started out they had NO originals but still called themselves the Vogues. Thats the part that bugged me. They were using the name with no originals.
@WashHigh79 Yep this is really Kennywood in 2006 or 2007, can't remember. I lucked out that day, I didn't even know they were going to be there performing.
There are 2 groups touring that are allowed to call themselves Vogues. This one and the one you speak of. There are two originals in "this" group Chuck and Hugh. The other group had purchased the rights to the name and until recently didn't have "any" originals in it. There has been a court battle over who is allowed the name. This group is only allowed the name in SW Pa, the one you speak of is allowed the name in the rest of the USA. I'm just glad to hear one of the groups perform.
Chuck Blasko and Hugh Geyer are the only originals here. Chuck is the one on the left and Hugh is third from the left. I found out that Hugh has left this particular group and went with the group that has been calling themselves the Vogues for awhile. This other group had purchased the rights to the songs but didn't even have ANY group originals in it till Hugh signed on with them. Many from the Pittsburgh area are angry about that.
I don't know of any "laws" reguarding this. The national touring group had bought the rights to the name "Vogues" and has been using it since. They now have two of the original four singers. I had seen something on WQED recently that this coming March, I believe, the national touring group is coming to Pittsburgh to perform. I think its for one of those oldie/doo wop shows that QED shows alot. Chuck Blaskos group is allowed to call themselves "Vogues" here in SW PA but nowhere else.
You're mistaken. This is a direct quote from another "youtuber," 260MP69, and he's right: "Wrong! All four of the orginial Vogues are alive and well.Bill Burkette and Hugh Geyer are seen in this video and are still entertaining with The Vogues. Chuck Blasko is still entertaining in the Pittsburgh area with 2 other singers as Chuck Blakso and The Vogues. Don Miller is retired and lives in Florida."
wow didn't know people would be so intense about the vogues all these later...interesting...either way they can never top the originakl recording of "five o'clock world"...sorry
That video recording is absolutely brilliant. The vogues 'Five o'clock world' rocks. Thanks for sharing this. Most appreciated.
Hot damn they can still nail the high notes. Bravo!
My favorite song

Wow, that's profound. Thank you, Socrates.

I recorded this in the summer of 2006 at Kennywood

Yes, it is the original group
Sad to say that the lead singer here, Keith Dix (second from left) passed away on 10/23/2011 at the age of 53. RIP, Keith.
I should have clarified.....This is the Chuck
Blasco group. Thanks.
EPIC
Wrong. All four original members are alive. Two are in one group (Bill and Hugh), Chuck has his group and Don is retired.
Hugh geyer still sounds great!
When was this recorded? Are all the orig band members still alive?
Looks like bowling league shirts🤔
who's the chick in the blue shirt?
This guy sounds very good, but doesn’t sound like Chuck Blasco to me...
wow didn't know people would be so intense about the vogues all these later...interesting...either way they can never top the originakl recording of "five o'clock world"...sorry
These are NOT the original guys.. can't hold a candle to the original Vogues..
WTF are you talking about?
