Rudi, I've watched you for a long time now, (in truth, you were one of the first people to introduce me to the game) I love your builds, and your understanding of how the mechanics in the game work is also great to hear. So when i say what im about to, i say it with love and respect: I wouldnt be excited by these animal rosters at all!. The first one is fine. But in my opinion, a pack that introduces fully aquatic animals would need to be an animal pack. with more than just 4+1 animals. The second pack roster just feels messy - birds, fish, monkeys... Theres no theming. Again, if you want to introduce flying birds, I would argue there needs to be an entire animal pack dedicated to them. I appreciate youre hoping for many different rigs for modders, but I dont feel like Frontier would release a pack just to help modders out in the future. I love the free update / scenery pieces ideas though. they were great. I guess we will see in just a couple of weeks what the next pack will bring. Im very excited for it
I think the walkthrough exhibits should be for smaller birds like finches, lorikeets and other passerines.Birds that I think should have free roam are hornbills,eagles,owls,waterfowl,gamebirds and herons
really good ideas, even if planet zoo doesnt want to fully implement aquatic animals just one proper aquatic animal so the modders dont have to utilize the semi aquatic skeleton and movement would go a long way for the modding community
We absolutely need a full aqautic dlc it will bring so many more people back to the game but we can only hope and wait when it will arrrive or if it ever will happen
I think a better idea than a whale shark could be something like a beluga whale. Personally I have been to the Georgia aquarium and something about seeing a whale shark in captivity didn’t feel right to me. If they are going to add a bottlenose dolphin there’s a good chance belugas will come too since they are both popular cetaceans. Maybe some smaller sharks could work like the black tip reef shark or a nurse shark. I also think it would be cool if even then if dolphins weren’t added if there could be some kind of presentation, for seal and sea lions. Some kind of educational presentation with some behaviors that the trainers signal.
I think Frontier will save the fully aquatic animals for something like Planet Zoo 2 or Planet Aquarium. But it is certainly a possibility to have it added to the game and honestly I think the Walrus and Manatee have the best chance of getting in to the game.
I've been wanting to buy a package of Aquarium fishes, ocean (shark, turbot, whale, a few more things I didn't think of :)) and birds for a long time.I expect the content in these two themes to arrive at the end of next year or next year.Apart from these two themes I mentioned, there is no other theme that I am waiting for with excitement :)) According to rumors, a pet-themed pack is said to be coming. Thank you very much for the video and once again you show us that you do not leave us alone in such news.❤❤
Definitely. The currently released DLC packs keep the game alive for a short time, but Frontier is making no move to bring the original players back to the game fully. i am not playing the game right now. The released DLCs are not bad, but they do not keep the players in the game for a long time anymore.
i agree with everything in this video but one thing i would change would replace the gibbon with the secretary bird. we already have the lar gibbon and i don’t think its one of my most wanted animals.
I think if birds did come into the game then lorikeets should be walkthrough animals and they will have a feed station to go with them, where guests can get nectar and feed it to the lorikeets.
I really like your ideas! The one thing I really wish we could have is a water barrier piece/fence. As the glass fences (among others) already work as barriers for water, there clearly is a mechanic in-game that allows players to tell the game where water can go. I really want this but with the ability to be placed horizontally, so that we could use something similar to fences to create underwater tunnels. I think this would allow for more flexibility to build than a path, though I do think that is an elegant solution as well! And I love the idea of null-perches! I think it would be amazing to have a lot of things like this, like imagine a null-feeder spawn so you can build a custom feeder and place it and your staff will be able to interact with it. Also, I'd love to see more (natural) enrichment items in general and - but this is probably more niche - I'd immediately buy a backstage DLC with all the "boring" stuff like sinks, animal gates, crates, etc.
I think while people want dophins ect - Frontier have stated they will never add those animals (which makes sense as we have learnt the hard way we cannot have those animals in captivity). However if we could have small aquatic exibit animal that might be possible, stuff like sea horses, sea dragons, octopuses, jelly fish, rockpools ect... smaller creatures you generally find in public aquariums
I really really do love Frontier. But at this point, I don´t give anything on those statements. They said, we won´t see camp cretaceous content, we did. They said we won´t get diving, we did. They said we will never get brachiation, we did. So - considering the polar bear drama, i guess you can use this perfectly to create awareness
Planet Zoo needs a lot of things now, more animal behavior animations, more detailed climbing movements, gentler slope roads, more realistic visitors (such as wearing coats or down jackets when it snows), more flying birds , more interactions between tourists and animals (such as adding pet expansion packs), animal values and skins that can be adjusted at will in the sandbox, solving the limitations of the module (just like what Planet Coaster finally did), more scenery and plant form.
I'm pretty sure planet zoo has 4 dlcs left according to their reports. the last two for this year, and the first two for next year. I completely agree with everything you've said, exactly what my choices would be too.
Honestly, I don’t really think that a fully aquatic pack with dolphins and fish is super realistic. I mean, the most we may get would be a manatee. The reason we probably won’t get fish is because of how many different species of fish there are. It would be very hard to get a large diversity of fish and make new animations for each one. Also, I don’t think that many zoos ( at least in the us) have fish. Lastly I don’t think we will get dolphins because even how rudi suggested it would be so so hard to pull of. Because I think the game is really supposed to be played in franchise mode it would be so hard to build a lagoon and it would also require tons of new animation and it would probably depend on where your zoo is set. (if it is a costal zoo or not.) Also because your idea implies that the zoo would have a rescue center for the dolphins, that would mean that the enrichment mechanic would be super weird. However, I do think that there is a high likelihood that we will get birds. They will probably be smaller birds but we may also get some larger parrots. I think that if we do get birds, we will probably only get them in the walkthrough exhibits and smaller birds like budgies or pigeons would be kind of like the bats and the butterflies. Larger birds like macaws would probably have a new animation set and hopefully a tool that lets you feed them like at my local aquarium (the aquarium of the pacific) they have some parrots and you can buy these little nectar smoothies cup sorta things and they can land on your arm and drink out of the cup. I think that it would be more unlikely to get birds of prey. The thing with birds of prey is that you can’t put them in a walkthrough exhibit but you probably don’t want to put them in an exhibit box either so you would have to make an actual aviary habitat for them which would need a whole new rig to enable them to fly. With that you would probably get a button enabling the habitat to have either a mesh, solid, or null roof kind of like the walls in the walkthrough exhibit. It would also probably be pretty hard to put a free flying bird in the game that isn’t on a loop cycle. With these birds I feel like in the individual animal tab you would get a clip wings option so it would be able to walk and jump and maybe flutter a little bit but not fully fly. Kind of like how chickens can fly a little bit but not very well. If you took the time to read all this. Much love.
I also think if we use the Polar bear as an example, the enclosures for dolphins, etc. would have to be impossibly massive in order to meet their needs adequately & given the sizing of the current PZ maps/worlds, I just don't think that is going to be a workable option with the game in its current state. There is also the fact that PZ is a game that bases itself on conservation & animal welfare/ethics so I can not see how keeping many of the most popular large fully aquatic animals (Orca, bottlenose dolphin, whale sharks, etc.) in comparatively tiny enclosures that is well documented to not meet even their basic needs above short term sustaining of life & still hold true to the core concepts of the game.
I think we only have 2 DLCs left until Frontier stops working on PZ. I don't think fully aquatic animals or birds are at all realistic or will ever happen in PZ, I think birds will probably be in Planet zoo 2 from launch but I doubt aquatic animals will ever happen due to PZs message of animal welfare and conservation seeing as fully aquatic animals, especially cetaceans, are quite a bit more controversial than land animals when it comes to being held in captivity. I think some actually feasible and realistic expectations for the final two PZ packs would be a temperate forests pack and a Highlands pack. Personally when it comes to PZ I would like to get an Islands pack, Avian pack, Highlands pack and a petting zoo pack but as I have said there will probably only be 2 more DLCs for PZ which are most likely Temperate forests and Highlands.
This is all the dream and would give Planet Zoo such a boost, extending its life. I think they are such big changes, we may not get them now. Planet Zoo 2?
I want to use all types of soil in every biome. We should be able to built a tropical house in a temperate climate with the tropical type of soil. Or Australian sand in other biomes. Zoos do that all the time. It's just a matter of skins, isn't it
Those would be great additions, personally, I would also love a wall set with tiles (subway or square) for more realistic backstages, also, more varied and realistic herbivore feeders. For the full aquaric dlc, I would exchange the bottlenose dolphin for a sea turtle. I do also really need to have sea otters. Personally I see this pack as a full animal pack, there's too much very different animals to add. I think after these 2 dlc's and updates I would feel there's still an underrepresentation of birds, specifically smaller ones, I would like to have a WE for them. Honestly I don't think 2 dlc's is enough, I'm still missing playground items, and guest feeding.
I'm probably in the minority but the one DLC I would not ever buy is a full aquatic pack- it has zero relevance for a Zoo or conservation-based game given the total lack of suitability of most aquatic mammals & many shark species in captive environments, so true aquatics is something best left to mods IMO. I also feel that for paid aquatic animals to work correctly in game & people not to feel ripped off, there would need to be a whole lot more than just 'here's a couple of fish, a couple of cetaceans & some rocks' added to the game. If they wanted to do it right, they'd need to add a good 15- 20 animals to cover the bases, as well as construction pieces. My understanding is that would probably end up making it more of a base game & require a $40+ price tag rather than a little $15 addition to the game, so they'd probably be better to release it as a separate but related game rather than a half-baked DLC? In place of your aquatic animals, I'd like some riparian/aquarium-style walk-through habitats with some of the larger & more common freshwater fish species featured like Asian Arowana or Arapaima etc. That gets to fish in game without the controversy surrounding aquatic mammals. Personally, for me it is birds & mesh pieces that are most needed in the game & would round out the packs nicely- they don't even have to fly- we just need more varied species. More mesh pieces I can 100% get behind. I also don't really think we need more of the same species in-game for modders to be able to do their thing once the official PZ content winds down, but I do think we need some more oddball animals, along with some of the smaller animals ie Aardwolf, Tree kangaroo, Tasmanian devil, Wolverine. Kiwi, Kea, Secretary bird, Swan/Pelican (covers most bird types for modders moving forward without Frontier needing to make flying rigs maybe), stuff like that.
yeah, tried to fit more of the small ones in, but since they´d all not fly in the way frontier does it atm, i really struggeled to opt for it. In regards to the amount of animals for a proper set: I guess thats "old world thinking" - unfortunately thats not how its done anymore. I mean with the aquatic dlc, we only got 4 too. So thats why i framed the whole packs as working with the limitations given by frontier. Its not a list how I´d do it if I had free hands.
@@RudiRennkamel I guess I'm doubly in the minority lol. I don't care if birds "fly" in game or not- peacocks, cranes & flamingos are all flying species yet they are still in game, so if they simply choose species that are as comfortable on land as in the air, I'm all good with just "jumping/flapping" onto rocks or trees... I just want more birds- Kiwi, Kea, Crown pigeon, Secretary bird, Shoebill, Swan, Pelican & a Steamer Duck would nicely cover all the bases in game without the need for a full-flying mechanics & give modders a good set of rigs to work off of when official content winds down. I'm not convinced it is really "old world thinking" tbh- for full aquatics, would they not have to do whole new rigs, possibly environments, change the way gates, keepers, vets, mechanics & potentially educators function, not to mention how the water & perhaps even pathing system &/or terrain interact & work in the game to a certain extent in order to easily build purely aquatic habitats that actually function properly on all levels ie. guest, animal & husbandry. Personally, I stopped trying to build realistic semi-aquatic enclosures for seals & penguins because it often gets frustrating trying to build elabrate & fully functional enclosures that include different levels, usable guest pathing & water that doesn't require stupidly high walls. I'm assuming most players wanting full aquatic animals want to build proper/somewhat realistic functional habitats to house the animals instead of just a hole in the ground or a glass box for guests to view the animals? I mean, if people are just wanting aquatic animals with how the game functions as it is now, then why not just use the fish, shark, turtle & cetacean species that modders have already made?
@@RudiRennkamel If I'm not mistaken, in an interview early on with some Devs, it was stated they did not want to include fully aquatic mammals/animals in the game as the game is supposed to be based on conservation & welfare (hence having protesters & animal welfare being a core component of success in the game etc.) If that is still true, then realistically I doubt we'll see full aquatic animals being brought in game personally. I can't find the actual interview with a quick google search & I'm not willing to invest more time trying to find it, but I did find a number of references to it on different forums.
I would basically only accept a potential Planet Zoo 2 if it is compatible with the actual game (that it would be possible to migrate everything from Planet Zoo to this game and use this there, too). Despite that I still hope that the support doesn't end this year......
I mean honestly I don’t need Aquatic Animals, and I don’t think they would do them because if they did, there will always be controversy about keeping them in captivity. I think the perfect 2 DLCs would be a Children’s Zoo Pack and an Avian Animal Pack. Children’s Zoo gives us playgrounds, petting and feeding, new rustic set for building barns and stuff, tamandua, tamarin in WE, goat, coati and Mara would be my picks. Avian animal pack we could get spoonbills, pelicans, Secretary birds, shoebills, Rhea, ducks and swans and have new enrichment like platforms for them to fly up onto. However I don’t think these or the ones you mentioned will come true. I think the last 2 will be a Temperate Pack with Tassie devil, Boar and Kiwi as well as a Highlands Animal Pack with gelada, spectacled bear, Pallas cat, pheasant, Wolverine and takin.
DLC A: Nice name choice, lol. I think you missed the see-through glass-bottom boat tour (or SUBMARINE!), and with that the glass path. I mean, yeah, null would do that, but there's also simple gamers that don't want to do that work. The Black Sea Bass? Uh..... that's the hoofstock choice, i guess? The VFX is a clever idea that fills in the gap and saves on CPU usage, so I like that, even if it's not really exciting. DLC B: Plankton Vfx?! interesting! i don't see the need, but I'm sure there is a real need for it. I love the idea of feeding the Walkthrough Exhibit animals, even the ones we already have. That just seems like a simple logical option to add. While I totally am on board with these animals and the reasons behind them, I just don't see that pack being tailored that way. I could definitely see an "extended animal" type pack with plenty more animals than the 8, but I can see it happening one of two ways: a majority of exhibit/walkthrough animals, probably centered around small mammals, reptile houses, and vivarium type themes; or just a Grasslands 2.0 type of setup (one big type of walkthrough cheat-the-numbers animal) and then a few extra habitat animals. Both options, though, I would see centered around one theme instead of a few, potentially all critically endangered or something. I also am feeling really confident that the last pack will be Highland themed, as A) it's winter themed; B) there's a pretty hefty amount of animals desired in the community that just fit nicely into that theme, or semi-adjacent (Walrus obviously isn't highland, but I feel that is a potential option for the last pack, somehow); and C) it's almost feeling like it's been confirmed by the rumorings on the interwebs and such. ~~~~~ For me, I am 99% sure the winter pack is going to be winter-themed with options from Highlands, Arctic/Antarctic, and even aquatic options. It's the next DLC that I'm not sure on. I could see it being Temperate region themed, which would give us options that are a bit more outlandish from the Highlands, like the Australian animal rosters. It also allows for theming that feels more "Americana" which isn't really set in any of the other packs. Like there's some, but they aren't truly "Americana", and that's such a common theme in zoos. I also am feeling pretty confident we are NOT going to get full aquatic nor flying mechanics. I could see potentially a walkthrough aviary put in, and I could also see the potential of a walkthrough aquatic exhibit (probably more like reef pools or something tropical-ish), but I'm feeling a lot more confident in looking away from these perfect options for the imperfect ones since Frontier likes to leave us hanging and wanting more (looks back at Planet Coaster that just feels completely unfinished now that we have Planet Zoo with 100,000 more DLCs than PlanCo....jk, but not really, but jk). But for this video, I do totally get what you're POV is, so if I was to suggest my additions: DLC A: Deep Sea DLC... add in a Submarine Transport Ride, some bioluminescent animal mechanics, and a more "Sci-Fi" Abyss Station type of theming, just to venture into the options of the actual Full Aquatic. But the animals I'm on board with. Maybe substitue the Sea Bass for a mollusc like the octopus or jellyfish, since those would move very differently from anything in game. and probably throw in the Walrus up there as well. DLC B: Canopy Extended-Animal DLC... Howler OR Spider Monkey, Bird WE options (just like your thoughts actually, though definitely a Blue Hyacinth macaw and a few other color variants of macaws figured into the mix), Primate #2 (Gibbon, Baboon, something....), Tree Kangaroo, Loris/Flying Squirrel/Aye-Aye/etc (something monkey-ish, but isn't a monkey from South America preferably), Kiwi or some not-up-high bird variant, Red or Green Snake Type (Seriously, Frontier, there's more colors than Brown in the nope rope category... and this is coming from someone that's very much not into snakes), and then fill in the rest with other tree-dwelling critters that fill in the numbers of continents and biomes more appropriately (Australia, Europe, and S. America obviously). I feel like you might be able to throw in another penguin or puffin type in here even though they're not tree-dwelling, just as a sneaky way to fit it in as well.
I feel for the last update or DLC Is going to have probably backstage pieces for animals or you gonna backstage,like a base for the backstage almost like the restaurant where you can make it look like you’re in a restaurant but it has a base so you can build on it and as mechanics to work that’s how I think if they have the last updated DLC they’re probably gonna have the backstage as a new piece
I'd love to see the walrus, elephant seal and leopard seal. ^^ PS I NEED THE CLOTHING CHANGING ON SPOT YES!! Like Jackets beanies and gloves yes! Light Jacket modes too!
I would definitely replace the Hainan Gibbon for a White Buff-Cheeked Gibbon due to them having the most complexed vocals of all the Gibbons and would want to hear that in PZ. Also would replace the Whale Shark with a Black Tip Reef Shark, Emperor Penguin with Rockhopper Penguin, and the Bass fish with a Sea Turtle. I would also replace the Plankton with Jelly Fish VFX. I would replace some other animals as well, but won't go more into it.
I would definitely purchase them both and some of the free update ideas you have are absolutely killer (especially the items that go along with the EA pack and the "park gardener" scenery set)... But I would admittedly be a bit disappointed in the content of the DLC packs themselves. I would be more enthusiastic about the idea of the "Aquatic" pack offered multiples "types" of fish VFX sets (e.g., one per biome maybe?) and had some "fish tank"-style exhibits that are more horizontal than vertical. But if I'm being honest a pack fully focused on birds would be much more my speed! The "Extended Animal" pack is a fine idea but I'd replace all but one of the current habitat species picks (spider monkey) for "fan favorites" that are a bit more "land-based" from the Meta wishlist. I would also swap out the condor for another tropical bird (hornbill, maybe). For me, personally, the whale shark and such just feel like a much better fit for a game that feels more "aquarium-like" and without a variety of other little fish to incorporate around them? I just don't think I'd build for them all that much.
See the choice was made with the animation uniqueness of the animals in mind, because I doubt the game will be supported for longer. And I don´t see an Aquarium focussed game at all. So I opted tactically for as many animation types that modders could build other animals off. The Meta wishlist is almost 100% doable with existing animals. Also i looked into conservation status to have some more endangered ones. But yeah, I´d also be more into the birds area - i just don´t think its doable at this point (not because they can´t but because they won´t without long time left to fix issues)
@@RudiRennkamel Yeah, your logic was really sound (and reasonably realistic)! The birds thing is a bummer but... I also fully "get it." Haha. But I'd still hope for more terrestrial-focused picks in that second pack of animals.
Good ideas Rudi, but there is definitely still a lack of a real petting zoo and functioning playgrounds, many zoos also have smaller rides, mini free fall towers, boat slides, cable cars, etc.
rudi what are these animals 😭😭 hainian gibbon? "stingray"? emperor penguins are the exact same thing as king penguins, just only in one american zoo and a slightly different pattern? if anything we should get little blue or rockhopper, ones that are distinct from the rest. this is the most goofy-aah list i've seen, but i love it for that. i'm just aggressively confused by a lot of it haha
I know, and it's intentional 😂 as I said, my idea was to get as many unique animation sets together. At this point there is no reason to stick with a theme for me 😅
And can frontier please fix its water problem. I'm trying to make a simple little pond for an oasis in my giraffe eland zebra habitat, and it won't let me make the pond. And it is driving me crazy
I would prefer them to finish with their standard packs this year and then next year we get full aquatic expansion in the summer with say 12 animals for £14.99 and then xmas 2024 we get full birds expansion for same price. This gives frontier six months rather than three to get it right and they still do not miss out of any money because the cost is the same as two standard dlcs. But again like the rest of the community this is a dream rather than likely reality
I would agree, but I doubt the game will be support until next summer tbh. If you look at Planet Coaster its already supported for one more year. But at least we have hope!
Aquatic DLC would bring me back to the game. Kind of stopped playing the game. Don't get me wrong I have hundreds of hours in it and got my money's worth.
Well, they already sell umbrellas for that stupid, horrid, game wrecking rain that falls every three minutes, which is why I refuse to play Tropical biome anymore.Tundra and Taiga, same for snow whiteouts. The only playable biomes (in my opinion only, of course) are Grassland and Desert.Yesterday I had a thunder and lightning storm for over an hour IN REAL TIME! That's over four months in game, one storm crashing and banging and blinding rain! Ridiculous! Makes me feel like quitting the game.Whoo... Anyway, back on topic, if I go to a zoo, or any outdoor venue frankly, I bring a jacket. I shouldn't have to bring snow gear in Australia in January! But if my own jacket, cleverly brought from home and donned in-game if the weather turns brisk (F*@k you, Frontier, and your blizzards in Vancouver in July! Sheesh!) I can buy a sweat shirt or hoodie or somesuch from the merch shops so conveniently added to every other block in Planet Zoo by me.Well, if it was me, I'd totally get a great discount, because, you know, my Zoo. Not to digress, the umbrella need doesn't break the game, so hoodie need shouldn't either. So go ahead, leave your sweater at home. I know the cutest little shop at the Zoo, over by the Siamangs where you can buy the nicest hoodie for only a fraction (300% is a fraction, right?) over retail price. The rest of your ideas feel pretty spot-on to me, Rudi. Cheers.
To get the full value of the animals in the final pack you MUST first buy the Aquatic pack. I don't like that idea (much), sorry. I also couldn't care too much about some cleaning animations for keepers to be frank. Sounds like small beer for little value - to me. But I do like the idea of traing animals to use items via a keeper (or maybe an educator coupled to a education talk/show?). Of course this is YOUR dream so it don't matter what I think. It does matter what Frontier think though. I think they might just surprise you and the final WE for birds will be un-neccessary 🙂
At this point it will be better to wait or a planet zoo 2. I mean after 3 years of development are multiple gate exhibits that difficult to implement? Flexicolour uniforms for the staff took 3 years, so maybe it is.
Before watching i already guessed that this was going to include at least a full aquatic or flying DLC. I don't think this is realistic at all at this point in the game. At best it will be half assed with a very limited roster. Nobody is going to be truly happy as their favorite animal isn't present.
Absolutely fantastic list! Frontier must act now, the game is dying. I hope they come true, all of these animals will comply with the message of conservation, anyone who claims otherwise is weak in creativity.
They already said no cetaceans. I don't agree with it, but that's what they said. Makes sense too, cause they are a British company, and Britain outlawed keeping cetaceans a long time ago. I know, it's just a game, but that's what they said, no cetaceans.
@@rassel7691 On the forums, like 2.5 years ago. It's been a while since they did, but considering that cetacean captivity in banned in the UK, I don't think we'll see them as their reasoning for not including them was "it goes against their conservation statement."
okay why? I seriously am surprised about all the comments. People judge animals as if they were seperated in classes. We have huge elephants, why wouldnt we have huge whalesharks? Both are in Zoos, both def. do not belong in Zoos. At the end its a game. And when you go full Aquatic, but Aquariums feature them.
I personally think the idea of a Marine pack that doesn’t include a sea turtle or shark is completely out of the question lol. Doesn’t make any sense at all. It would be comparable to if the game never added giraffes.
Can you do a what if on “What if the Planet Zoo DLC were like Zoo Tycoon 2” basically if the DLCs introduced at least 20 animals each and how different it would have been after the Arctic Pack
This would be cool if this is going to happen but i would say skip all the marine animals and focus more on birds and animals we still really want in the game and then creata a new game with all the marine animals like planet sea or something
Yeah, i’m not going to get my hopes anywhere because these types of animals have been ignored for so much time, it would be great to see the condor in the game, just as long as they don’t have that ugly striped livery…
@@10piecechickennuggetIf monkeys are in zoos, why not dolphins? If seals are in zoos, why not dolphins? If tigers, lions and bears and in zoos, what makes any other animal more cruel or less cruel? You could argue that dolphins need more space than other animals, but, at the end of the day, no animal is more morally correct to keep than another
I think Frontier is going to go for animals that fit their message of conservation.
Well then I have a lot of fits in the list
All the animals on the list are fine.
@@RudiRennkamel actually almost all animals fits nowadays.
I would love a petting zoo dlc. I love this game, and I hope it's not going to be over in 2024 :(
Rudi, I've watched you for a long time now, (in truth, you were one of the first people to introduce me to the game) I love your builds, and your understanding of how the mechanics in the game work is also great to hear.
I don't think they'd make a completely new fully aquatic system just for one animal though.
just a wooly monkey would be amazing I have the honor to work with them and they are absolutely beautiful animals with big personalities!
Thank you very much for the video and once again you show us that you do not leave us alone in such news.❤❤
where do the pet-dlc rumors come from? Never heard of it
Yeah that's a good point!
These are some really good possibilities i hope the last 2 DLC's are some good ones to end planet zoo on a big plus 😊
It's just a matter of skins, isn't it
yess i really want this too!
Not just that, but also foliage brush like in Zoo Tycoon 2!
Honestly I don't think 2 dlc's is enough, I'm still missing playground items, and guest feeding.
whatever they have planed I can't wait to build in my own Zoos
I live locally with manatees and our local zoo is actually a manatee rescue rehabilitation. They are awesome
I want to have real guinea pigs with a lots of colors and little houses xD but dont think this is gonna happen xD
@@RudiRennkamel
I guess I'm doubly in the minority lol.
@@RudiRennkamel If I'm not mistaken, in an interview early on with some Devs, it was stated they did not want to include fully aquatic mammals/animals in the game as the game is supposed to be based on conservation & welfare (hence having protesters & animal welfare being a core component of success in the game etc.)
If that is still true, then realistically I doubt we'll see full aquatic animals being brought in game personally.
I can't find the actual interview with a quick google search & I'm not willing to invest more time trying to find it, but I did find a number of references to it on different forums.
It'd probably be difficult to animate, but an adoptable giant pacific octopus would be such a cool addition to an aquarium pack 🐙
I would basically only accept a potential Planet Zoo 2 if it is compatible with the actual game (that it would be possible to migrate everything from Planet Zoo to this game and use this there, too).
Despite that I still hope that the support doesn't end this year......
Imagine a Planet Zoo 2. That would just be amazing.
I know you'll be much closer to the reality. But that's not my ambition:P
At this point, i think frontier is thinking more about Planet Coaster 2 more than Planet Zoo's DLCs
~~~~~
For me, I am 99% sure the winter pack is going to be winter-themed with options from Highlands, Arctic/Antarctic, and even aquatic options. It's the next DLC that I'm not sure on. I could see it being Temperate region themed, which would give us options that are a bit more outlandish from the Highlands, like the Australian animal rosters. It also allows for theming that feels more "Americana" which isn't really set in any of the other packs. Like there's some, but they aren't truly "Americana", and that's such a common theme in zoos. I also am feeling pretty confident we are NOT going to get full aquatic nor flying mechanics. I could see potentially a walkthrough aviary put in, and I could also see the potential of a walkthrough aquatic exhibit (probably more like reef pools or something tropical-ish), but I'm feeling a lot more confident in looking away from these perfect options for the imperfect ones since Frontier likes to leave us hanging and wanting more (looks back at Planet Coaster that just feels completely unfinished now that we have Planet Zoo with 100,000 more DLCs than PlanCo....jk, but not really, but jk). But for this video, I do totally get what you're POV is, so if I was to suggest my additions:
DLC A: Deep Sea DLC... add in a Submarine Transport Ride, some bioluminescent animal mechanics, and a more "Sci-Fi" Abyss Station type of theming, just to venture into the options of the actual Full Aquatic. But the animals I'm on board with. Maybe substitue the Sea Bass for a mollusc like the octopus or jellyfish, since those would move very differently from anything in game. and probably throw in the Walrus up there as well.
DLC B: Canopy Extended-Animal DLC... Howler OR Spider Monkey, Bird WE options (just like your thoughts actually, though definitely a Blue Hyacinth macaw and a few other color variants of macaws figured into the mix), Primate #2 (Gibbon, Baboon, something....), Tree Kangaroo, Loris/Flying Squirrel/Aye-Aye/etc (something monkey-ish, but isn't a monkey from South America preferably), Kiwi or some not-up-high bird variant, Red or Green Snake Type (Seriously, Frontier, there's more colors than Brown in the nope rope category... and this is coming from someone that's very much not into snakes), and then fill in the rest with other tree-dwelling critters that fill in the numbers of continents and biomes more appropriately (Australia, Europe, and S. America obviously). I feel like you might be able to throw in another penguin or puffin type in here even though they're not tree-dwelling, just as a sneaky way to fit it in as well.
I feel for the last update or DLC Is going to have probably backstage pieces for animals or you gonna backstage,like a base for the backstage almost like the restaurant where you can make it look like you’re in a restaurant but it has a base so you can build on it and as mechanics to work that’s how I think if they have the last updated DLC they’re probably gonna have the backstage as a new piece
Frontier recently said they want to shake and mix things up. Well, it sounds like a nice drink to enjoy on a seaside scenery, don't you think Rudi?
I do hope that when they do a West African Lion remaster that they will also add the Asiatic lion.
I really, really want this!
Very nice idea! I would love Dolphins in Planet Zoo!🐬
I'd love to see the walrus, elephant seal and leopard seal. ^^
PS I NEED THE CLOTHING CHANGING ON SPOT YES!! Like Jackets beanies and gloves yes! Light Jacket modes too!
I would definitely replace the Hainan Gibbon for a White Buff-Cheeked Gibbon due to them having the most complexed vocals of all the Gibbons and would want to hear that in PZ. Also would replace the Whale Shark with a Black Tip Reef Shark, Emperor Penguin with Rockhopper Penguin, and the Bass fish with a Sea Turtle. I would also replace the Plankton with Jelly Fish VFX. I would replace some other animals as well, but won't go more into it.
I would definitely purchase them both and some of the free update ideas you have are absolutely killer (especially the items that go along with the EA pack and the "park gardener" scenery set)... But I would admittedly be a bit disappointed in the content of the DLC packs themselves.
I would be more enthusiastic about the idea of the "Aquatic" pack offered multiples "types" of fish VFX sets (e.g., one per biome maybe?) and had some "fish tank"-style exhibits that are more horizontal than vertical. But if I'm being honest a pack fully focused on birds would be much more my speed!
The "Extended Animal" pack is a fine idea but I'd replace all but one of the current habitat species picks (spider monkey) for "fan favorites" that are a bit more "land-based" from the Meta wishlist. I would also swap out the condor for another tropical bird (hornbill, maybe). For me, personally, the whale shark and such just feel like a much better fit for a game that feels more "aquarium-like" and without a variety of other little fish to incorporate around them? I just don't think I'd build for them all that much.
See the choice was made with the animation uniqueness of the animals in mind, because I doubt the game will be supported for longer. And I don´t see an Aquarium focussed game at all. So I opted tactically for as many animation types that modders could build other animals off. The Meta wishlist is almost 100% doable with existing animals. Also i looked into conservation status to have some more endangered ones.
But yeah, I´d also be more into the birds area - i just don´t think its doable at this point (not because they can´t but because they won´t without long time left to fix issues)
@@RudiRennkamel Yeah, your logic was really sound (and reasonably realistic)! The birds thing is a bummer but... I also fully "get it." Haha.
But I'd still hope for more terrestrial-focused picks in that second pack of animals.
I know I have said this 1,000 times in the RUclips comments section, but Planet zoo needs functioning elevators.
What about the toolbox we have in planet coaster?! It needs to be added to planet zoo in the end
They should use the same animation from Jurassic world's pteranodons and aquatic reptiles and bring it to planet zoo to make flying birds and fish
Good ideas Rudi, but there is definitely still a lack of a real petting zoo and functioning playgrounds, many zoos also have smaller rides, mini free fall towers, boat slides, cable cars, etc.
I´m over the rides thing. Frontier legit have them. Ready. But nope. sooo yeah in that case the train has left lol
rudi what are these animals 😭😭 hainian gibbon? "stingray"? emperor penguins are the exact same thing as king penguins, just only in one american zoo and a slightly different pattern? if anything we should get little blue or rockhopper, ones that are distinct from the rest. this is the most goofy-aah list i've seen, but i love it for that. i'm just aggressively confused by a lot of it haha
I know, and it's intentional 😂 as I said, my idea was to get as many unique animation sets together. At this point there is no reason to stick with a theme for me 😅
And can frontier please fix its water problem. I'm trying to make a simple little pond for an oasis in my giraffe eland zebra habitat, and it won't let me make the pond. And it is driving me crazy
I hope theres like half a year of support after these 2 before the release of planet coaster 2
I have always figured that they are saving the aquatic to make it its own game: planet aquarium.
Can’t wait for the aquarium pack!! Finally I’ll be able to built a real aquarium 😃
No one said there will be one, Rudi is just talking about his wishlist, not facts
i hope they continue aupport still since pz has such a healthy community
I would prefer them to finish with their standard packs this year and then next year we get full aquatic expansion in the summer with say 12 animals for £14.99 and then xmas 2024 we get full birds expansion for same price. This gives frontier six months rather than three to get it right and they still do not miss out of any money because the cost is the same as two standard dlcs. But again like the rest of the community this is a dream rather than likely reality
I would agree, but I doubt the game will be support until next summer tbh. If you look at Planet Coaster its already supported for one more year. But at least we have hope!
Why did you pick the Black Sea Bass instead of the Whale Shark for the fully aquatic pack?
I needed a little more "simple" animal and not another headline animal:P
Aquatic DLC would bring me back to the game. Kind of stopped playing the game. Don't get me wrong I have hundreds of hours in it and got my money's worth.
I can't totally understand!
I'd put my money on a temperate pack next. Haha.
If Frontier follow this, Planet Zoo will be a 10/10 complete game.
the issue with guest changing clothes would be that if the temperature drops, all guest will change at once, probably crashing half the players PCs.
I hope not haha
Well, they already sell umbrellas for that stupid, horrid, game wrecking rain that falls every three minutes, which is why I refuse to play Tropical biome anymore.Tundra and Taiga, same for snow whiteouts. The only playable biomes (in my opinion only, of course) are Grassland and Desert.Yesterday I had a thunder and lightning storm for over an hour IN REAL TIME! That's over four months in game, one storm crashing and banging and blinding rain! Ridiculous! Makes me feel like quitting the game.Whoo...
Anyway, back on topic, if I go to a zoo, or any outdoor venue frankly, I bring a jacket. I shouldn't have to bring snow gear in Australia in January! But if my own jacket, cleverly brought from home and donned in-game if the weather turns brisk (F*@k you, Frontier, and your blizzards in Vancouver in July! Sheesh!) I can buy a sweat shirt or hoodie or somesuch from the merch shops so conveniently added to every other block in Planet Zoo by me.Well, if it was me, I'd totally get a great discount, because, you know, my Zoo.
Not to digress, the umbrella need doesn't break the game, so hoodie need shouldn't either. So go ahead, leave your sweater at home. I know the cutest little shop at the Zoo, over by the Siamangs where you can buy the nicest hoodie for only a fraction (300% is a fraction, right?) over retail price.
The rest of your ideas feel pretty spot-on to me, Rudi. Cheers.
To get the full value of the animals in the final pack you MUST first buy the Aquatic pack. I don't like that idea (much), sorry.
I also couldn't care too much about some cleaning animations for keepers to be frank. Sounds like small beer for little value - to me. But I do like the idea of traing animals to use items via a keeper (or maybe an educator coupled to a education talk/show?).
Of course this is YOUR dream so it don't matter what I think. It does matter what Frontier think though. I think they might just surprise you and the final WE for birds will be un-neccessary 🙂
At this point it will be better to wait or a planet zoo 2. I mean after 3 years of development are multiple gate exhibits that difficult to implement? Flexicolour uniforms for the staff took 3 years, so maybe it is.
Planet zoo 2 will take another 6 years at least
They have to update the salt water crocodile model
They should update the lion model too its way too cartoony
Before watching i already guessed that this was going to include at least a full aquatic or flying DLC. I don't think this is realistic at all at this point in the game. At best it will be half assed with a very limited roster. Nobody is going to be truly happy as their favorite animal isn't present.
Absolutely fantastic list! Frontier must act now, the game is dying.
I hope they come true, all of these animals will comply with the message of conservation, anyone who claims otherwise is weak in creativity.
At this point, Frontier’s true send off for the game should be hiring you as part of the crew Rudi XD
They already said no cetaceans. I don't agree with it, but that's what they said. Makes sense too, cause they are a British company, and Britain outlawed keeping cetaceans a long time ago. I know, it's just a game, but that's what they said, no cetaceans.
Where and when did they said it?
@@rassel7691 On the forums, like 2.5 years ago. It's been a while since they did, but considering that cetacean captivity in banned in the UK, I don't think we'll see them as their reasoning for not including them was "it goes against their conservation statement."
These packs are disappointing rudi, it’s a bunch of random animals in some packs stuffed together
can you outline why? how have you judged this in 7 mins while the video is over 20?
this was fucking ridiculous- a whale shark really
okay why? I seriously am surprised about all the comments. People judge animals as if they were seperated in classes. We have huge elephants, why wouldnt we have huge whalesharks? Both are in Zoos, both def. do not belong in Zoos. At the end its a game. And when you go full Aquatic, but Aquariums feature them.
I personally think the idea of a Marine pack that doesn’t include a sea turtle or shark is completely out of the question lol. Doesn’t make any sense at all. It would be comparable to if the game never added giraffes.
Oh you mean like the game that has no birds and fish? Yeah feels weird
I'm only at the Update 1.15 part and i already know you're hoping for too much. The free updates have never been as big as you say 1.15 needs to be.
let him have his dreams, how crazy they might be haha
Can you do a what if on “What if the Planet Zoo DLC were like Zoo Tycoon 2” basically if the DLCs introduced at least 20 animals each and how different it would have been after the Arctic Pack
Let hope they will keep support to 2029. Still good or ok money for Froniter. Its not like they are doing good else where.
This would be cool if this is going to happen but i would say skip all the marine animals and focus more on birds and animals we still really want in the game and then creata a new game with all the marine animals like planet sea or something
pls pls pls frontier if u can prove ur self that u listen to ur fans GIVE US F***IN COASTAL PACK
Why that gibbon?, we have a gibbon
I don't think birds of prey should be WE animals, I don't think guests would like to touch in the talons of the birds.
I know, but I don´t see another way of implementing it. The game also literally says fruit bats are dangerous for guest too lol
The game should not end... or it should be instantly replaced by PlanetZoo2 ...
我尿黄,我来滋你
wake up man, drink some water or u would stay delusional
Last DLCs really not good, need Birds and Fishs... we become more and more same Animals :/
have you watched the video? ^^
Yeah, i’m not going to get my hopes anywhere because these types of animals have been ignored for so much time, it would be great to see the condor in the game, just as long as they don’t have that ugly striped livery…
