That was indeed a good egg sarnie. I don't often have a drink, but when away, it has to be real ales :)

Takes me back more than a few years. Nearly stumbled off Mam Tor in hill-fog - it's along way down, loose and steep! Can't do it these days at pushing 80 so you are my legs and walking poles and boots, so keep up the good work. I really enjoy following your adventures - especially your industrial offerings.

Well I'm here after commenting earlier today on your Harworth junction video, and I've just heard you mention Peveril Castle at Castleton. I'm also originally from the Bolsover constituency and my parents still live on a Peveril Road in that area!

I know disused railway lines are more your thing - but below Mam Tor there's a disused road. What used to be the road from Manchester to Sheffield had to be abandoned due to too many landslips. It's still passable on foot and well worth seeing.
    Good call on the beers!

A bit more information for you.
    CASTLETON
This large Derbyshire village grew up around the Norman castle, built in 1086 by William Peveril, son of William the Conqueror. The great keep which now dominates the ruins was added in 1176 by Henry II, and cost £135. It is this castle which Sir Walter Scott immortalized in his novel 'PEVERIL OF THE PEAK'.
The church, which also dates from Norman times, is aisle less and contains box pews. On the left of the chancel is the church library with many hand-written books and several very old versions of the English Bible, including Cranmer's Bible dated 1539 and the Breeches Bible of 1611, this is a unique feature of the Peak District.
Castleton is particularly well known for the four limestone caverns nearby: the Peak Cavern, the Speedwell Mine, the Treak Cliff Cavern and Blue John Mine - named after the semi-precious stone, Blue John, which has been prized since Roman times.
The largest cave, Peak Cavern, is at the foot of the cliff on which the castle stands, and its entrance is said to be the biggest of any cave in Britain, about 60 feet high and 20 feet wide. This cave was used by rope makers for more than 500 years, and some of them lived in cottages inside the mouth of the cave.
Just outside Castleton is Mam Tor, 1696ft asl, this is also called the 'Shivering Mountain' because of the way erosion causes shale to fall into the valley below.

Good memories: When I was in the Creswell scout group in the mid to late 70's we used to camp in Edale and climb up the waterfall we called Jacobs Ladder up to Mam Tor and then do a bit of bog hopping over the crevasses!

A very impressive video, lovely scenery, great drone work and good company. It was quite a contrast from your other stuff, but well worth the watch. I love Derbyshire it has so many contrasts within it, from the flat lands around the Trent to the Peak District. Congrats on reaching 3K subscribers, people know quality when they see it.
