Dear Walter, thank you so much for openly sharing your story. I am not sure if you believe in God. I do and always believe that what we go through in life, God has allowed because He has amazing plans (especially if we trust in Him). I can see how He is using your life, from a single mum to adoption to right now...God is using your life to encourage and help many out there who are facing the same challenges as you. They don't even need to be Korean. I am a Singaporean Chinese living in Australia and I am so encouraged hearing your story. Keep on doing what you are doing. Thank you for your life. :)
Unfortunately people are fearful of the unknown. I think here in Oz attitudes are changing slowly. Hopefully the younger generations will be more open and tolerant, than the older generations.
I used to go to colledge in Australia about three years ago. What I experienced was some local people treat asian people differently in some ways. Those racists did not speak out, but their action towards me or my asian friends did show some sort of disrespectful. However, I agree with you that there are many people out there ready to support us. There are still many lovely Australians in this beautiful country.
Hey mate. That really sucks that you had to feel ashamed of who you were for a time. All Australians should have the freedom to embrace and express who they are regardless of race/sexual preference/anything else...
Hi Walter, this is such a great video regarding racism. And I think it is also real tip comes from your experiences. I grew up in Korea but now reside in Melbourne l.Thank you for sharing these and can't wait to watch your next clips.😊
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I've been thinking about going on a trip in Australia for a long time. But I was afraid for this kinda social issue. Now I feel more relieved from this video that is very inspire me wanna go to Aus. I love your accent btw💙
I usually speak it out on the spot, just say 'wha't up with you' or 'are you okay?' or 'it is bad to see someone like you'. In your (as a guy) case, it would be easier, simply say 'bloody hell, take it easy or easy'. And the best one is 'let it go and carry on'. I like that 'let it go and carry on', which can be for any situation and anyone.
First of all, thank you and congratulations for this video. I know that talking about our own personal traumas and bad experiences is not easy at all...so congrats for your brave. I do think school is the "best" environment for discriminations. As a homosexuals I've been harassed several times as well...till university. So people out there: resist! It takes long, but a better life is waiting for you. Finally, the "slender eyes gesture" topic is very interesting. I don't know in Australia, but in Italy when I was a kid it was considered no racist at all. This, for sure, partially due to a lack of sensibility towards integration-related problems, but also because we think Asian eyes are very beautiful :-D We call them "almond eyes" and think they are very sexy...this is funny, considered that in Asia (or, at least, in China) people tend to prefer bigger, rounded eyes. Indeed, we have a joke saying that if you are ugly in the West you will be very popular in the East, and viceversa :-P Now, I know Asian people think of this gesture as something very derogatory and offensive and I completely agree with not doing it anymore...but I just wanted to point out to our Asian friends that it's not always meant to be as bad as it might look :-)
Glad to find this video :D I lived in Austria(not Australia😂) but there was nobody who even tried to help me :( I am still confused when some of my friends do a bit of racist actions or humors🙁 For sure they love me but I can get them sometimes... anyway thanks for sharing your stories and your opinions! Stay positive😎
Upside down now people trying to look more korean...its a matter of time racism comes in so many ways. We all faced it. I dont know why people try to pick on others..
Why do people like to move western country whenever they know they have to face some difficulty like facing racism, loneliness. Anyway thank u for sharing . ☺️👌🏻
People don’t KNOW they’re going to be treated poorly when they move ANYWHERE. But clearly you expect that they will perhaps because you treat people that way.

Why I’m living in Aus is because of Kozzie TV

Thanks to your life time story.
well It's so umm...
I can't mention about racism...
Nice video !
😢 That is very awful!
