OOH if anyone is wondering, KU provides hangers for your clothes!!! Males and females have to take separate elevators lol and there isn't a curfew as far as I know! CJI was the only dorm that required a keycard to gain entrance to the lobby and room, so make sure you don't lose yours!! There's an ATM in the lobby of CJI, and a gym and laundry room downstairs. The study rooms are really big and cool to do your hw at, and there's two kitchens. They have water dispensers in the kitchens so bring a resuable water bottle to save some money and plastic-waste :)
How much does dorm cost like for 1 year because I have to lived in the dorm during vacation too if I studied there.....Is it really expensive??and do you have to bring any utensils??
@@Iwacu18 I only stayed at KU as part of the summer campus program, so I am unsure as to what a typical semester/school year would cost. If you plan on using the dorm kitchens, I believe there are pots, but you'll need your own containers and utensils. If you're eating from the cafeteria, they should have utensils.
Hi Lilian! Thank you so much for making this informative video. I know you stayed at CJ, but I will be staying at Anam Global House and I am not able to find anyone who can help me out with the queries, so I was be very grateful if you could. I am flying out in just one week and will be staying there for 6 months. 1) Do we carry our bedding(such as bedsheets, quilt, pillow, etc.) from our hometown or is it possible to get these in the dormitory as well? If yes, is there a cost involved? 2) What equipment is there in the kitchen? Is there a blender, microwave, oven? 3) Do we need to carry our cooking utensils from our home town or purchase in Korea or are there ones available for use in the kitchen of the dormitory? 4) Is there any cafeteria for us to eat food in the anam dormitory? 5) Are there any gym or dedicated exercise areas in or around the dormitory? 6) Is there a bidet in the bathroom or only toilet paper? 7) Are there any ATMs closeby? I know these are a lot of questions and I would really appreciate your help if you could take out a few mins to answer them so that I can better prepare myself for the upcoming stay at the dormitory! Thank you so much!
There is a PC bang down main street. If you walk down the hill from the dorms towards Anam station, there are a bunch of shops and foods and I believe there is a PC bang. There are also many norebangs, cafes, restaurants, and a Daiso in that direction.
Hi Lilian!! I'm thinking of going there next year, I wanted to know if you guys have curfews?? And if so what is the time frame for when you are allowed to be out??
Hello Lilian! I'm planning to come to KU this winter (short term programme)! Could I ask a question about this dorm? So do you need to clean the bathroom by yourself and your roommates or staff will clean it for you? I would appreciate it if you reply to me!
Hi! The staff came in once or twice a week to clean the bathroom! You might want to think about keeping a big trash bag because they only provide really small trash cans. Hope you have fun!!
Hey Lilian! I’m thinking of going to Korea for IWC. How did you find KU’s buddy program for ISC students? Did they organise separate activities other than what was organised by KU? Did you find it easy to make friends?
Hi! I thought it was fun! I found a lifelong group of friends through the buddy system!!! I don't know if they still do it the same, but when I went, I got an email from my buddy before I arrived and we started texting comfortably since we were the same age. Each buddy had 6-8 people assigned to them, and then we all were part of a larger group. The larger group had like 30-50 people in it. As a larger group, we had 치맥 on the first night, and I met a group of people who I spent a lot of time with in Korea! With my buddy, she organized some small group trips to Ikseongdong/Insadong and then to Han River. I think the buddy system was a low stakes way of making friends and can be a good opportunity to meet new people! I only ever went to two events with the group as my friends and I ended up doing our own thing. Hope this helps. * these events were not organized through the school, but through the student buddies. usually very casual and fun!
@5:30 there is a clip of the outside with the balcony (all floors have them I think)... dorm assignments were random so I don't know if there is a way to specifically request a dorm with a balcony, but the suite I had was secluded from the other dorms.
I'm not really sure what the difference is since I only stayed in CJ, but I think they are just different buildings. Most of the facilities seem to be the same. Try looking at this website to get more info! summer.korea.ac.kr/all/src/student/accommodation.php
hii! i’m going to be studying at KU this semester and i’m in CJ and i was just wondering if you know if most of the double rooms have two separate beds rather than bunk beds? i’m going to be on the sixth floor and was wondering what floor / room you stayed in! ☺️
Hello! As far a I know, the double rooms have two separate beds. My dorm suite was on the fourth floor by the elevators, off on its own from the rest of the dorms (down the hallway), so I can't be sure for the other dorms. I visited my friend's dorm in frontier and she also had separate beds!
Hi Lilian! Thank you for your lovely videos. As i know KU has an on-campus and an off-campus in Anam. So your CJ is the on-campus, isn't it? I'm a little bit confused which campus i should choose. Can you give me some advices, any advantages and disadvantages of each one? TIA
I don't know if there is an off-campus one... The dorm I was at is about a 10 min walk to campus/Woodang Hall where your classes will be. As far as I know, there were only 3 dorm options to choose from, and all of them are on the same hill about 10 min from campus.
Hi Lilian, thanks for your nice video ❤. Would you mind if I ask you some questions? Is the CJ Dorm fee that you did payment when application including wifi, city water, electronic fee also? And is there limit time if we go back to dorm late at midnight?
Hello! Thanks for watching! The dorm fee that I paid was a fixed price of about 700,000 KRW and it included everything (water, wifi, electricity, etc.). When I attended over the summer, there was no curfew, but I am unsure of that throughout the rest of the year. I don't think there would be a time limit though! The convenience store on school campus was open 24/7, so I think as long as you're quiet while exiting and entering the dorms you should be fine!
Hi! I'm applying to study at KU this summer and wanted to find out more information about the dorms. I'm not sure if I missed it in your video, but do you know about how long it took you to get up to your dorm from the front entrance? And is there another entrance you can go through to get to the CJ Dorms?
it will depend on the dorms you live in. CJ from the entrance took about 5-10 minutes (depending on how fast you walk) and frontier and global took about 3-7 minutes (it just is mostly walking up a bunch of stairs). You'll be getting a work out with any dorm you go to lol! There is another way to get to the dorms from the top! There's a school bus by global and frontier, and it's less than a 5 min walk from CJ. There's also a regular bus stop on the road above CJ (i think also by global and frontier) so if you ever go out, you can take the bus back to the dorms for less uphill walking!!! my first taxi to CJ took the top entrance past the hospital, and other taxis have taken me from the bottom of the hill, and they do go up to the top for you!!!
hi lilian! im interested to apply for KU this summer, i'm curious about the acceptance letter like when did you receive it after you apply for it? did it take long? thank you :)
Hello! I applied the first day the application opened and received my acceptance on jan 14!!! I also applied independently rather than through my university, so I'm not sure if that may have affected how fast I got my acceptance. Hope this helped!
Uh, I think that just depends on how many classes you take, how much you study, etc. I spent anywhere from 2 hours to all day on campus just depending on my plans.

If you pay early enough, you can choose which dorm you live in (CJ, Global, Frontier). You do not, however, get to pick your specific room.
