As an American in the 90's, without the internet, it was a shock to tune in and find that the gladiators had gone global. That was shocking but JET - brunette and pretty in pink - was an absolute revelation.
6:24 That was one rough game of Powerball. Not only did Paul lose his tooth, but Sam Codjoe got so badly injured by Shadow, he had to be stretchered out, with Phil Campbell taking his place halfway through the show in the final. :(
I think so. American Gladiators started before any other country did their own version, but I'm not sure if Hawk was one of the first gladiators or not.
To me, Hawk was like America's Warrior, with how they both had that Guile-from-Street Fighter 2 hairstyle. Although I did notice the similarities to Cobra in this episode, too.
Had Peggy Odiea not gotten hurt before the competition, Adrian wouldn't have even been there I don't think. If my memory serves me correctly Peggy beat her in the American grand championship in 1994 it was supposed to be the representative but I think she got injured.
@@Omega_X_Factor yeah you're right I just re-watched season 6. I still think it's a shame that Peggy never got to compete in the international competition

It was VERY WRONG of John Anderson to disqualify Riikka during duel because SHE REALLY WAS ATTACKING! It was only that she was SMALLER THAT SHE LOST HER BALANCE! So she REALLY DESERVED THOSE FIVE POINTS!
Tough to answer given I'm not female, although I've tried something similar at carnivals. Regardless of whether I could, the spirit of the rule is to play for the win. In American Gladiators' early seasons, there was a contender or two who would stay back and not only "weather the storm", but also to play for the draw, and that's why not only in the original American series, but in the other international series, that they required mounting an attack from both sides. Is there a technique in boxing to "wear out" your opponent and then come back with some heavy blows in an attempt to knock out? Absolutely, and Sabre admitted to doing something similar in his 2nd bout. However, even if you go the distance in boxing, you'd lose on rounds (or points, depending on the governing body; the one in my area judges by round). And that's sort of the same thing here.
John Anderson is unfair ,she stayed on ,she didn't step across I think she did really well ,Like to see if John Anderson would do any better against shadow or Mike Tyson
@@vincitveritas3872 I've heard rumours some did. Bear in mind though, I think it was an ex female Gladiator who made the accusations, so she could've been bitter. :(
Awesome uploads!!!
I've been looking for these shows forever because in America they didn't show every episode of International Gladiators
43:05 Sabre reminded me of Bob Probert there, shrugging off Paul's best shots, then making his own explosive comeback for the win. Beautifully done.
Jet was my love😍😍
Same here, lightning, falcon, Scorpio and Zodiac too

gone global?? we started it lol
Diane Youdale better known as Jet, was also the co-host of Finders Keepers alongside Art Attack host Neil Buchanan.
Challenge really know when the golden age of TV was, don't they????? God bless them.

Just some of the reasons I call Powerball "60 seconds of controlled hell".
25:49 Dynamite should've been a wrestler!!!! RIP big man. :(
Supershow
39:45-39:50; This is what we in America call the "Adamle Jinx".
5:09 Street Fighter 2 told me that Russians were 7 feet tall, 300lbs+, and had bushy hair growing on their shins.
So Hawk's like an American version of Cobra? (Or vice versa)

54:01 I'm glad Stass managed to put up a fight, points wise. :D
Jet reminds me of Kate Bush.
2:48 Now that was a nice pose from Sky.
16:37 You can tell Paul Field has chased criminals over narrow beams before.
@ 39:50 nightshade goes wacky and her hand goes into the other Q-tip and that grounds for a DQ
StFidjnr And Mike Adamle gives the kiss of death yet again.
1:58 WHY DID THE GLADIATORS NEVER SHOOT ELECTRICITY OUT OF THEIR HANDS TO STOP THE CONTENDERS???/
2:43 Ice knew Wolf was the king of the Gladiators, putting on a ferocious look to try and be like him. :P
27:28 My attention was on Jet, Mike. If I wanted to watch rings, I'd play Sonic.
@ 16:07 the last time wolf did assult he got DQ'd
StFidjnr I think you mean Pursuit.
2.46😜😜😍😍
Unfornuality well done Nightshade for losing.
I think Adrian decided to think it was John Anderson she was hitting
6:09 John should've asked, "Have you developed the habit of sticking your tongue through the gap in your teeth, yet???" :P
27:10 How can a baby sleep in that racket?????/ :(
13:28 That was hot how she said that. :P
Jesus Paul looks haggered for 27!
Damn, Adrien got mighty lucky there on duel but then at least had her a** kicked by the British girl Eunice in the Semi.
Had Peggy Odiea not gotten hurt before the competition, Adrian wouldn't have even been there I don't think.

She threw one at the beginning, but that was it. After falling, she stayed at the back of the platform and weathered the storm. Definitely worth a DQ.
I agree John Anderson must have really knocked her confadunce

Rikka had every right to be DQ"ed because she was not attacking at all, just defending

If you talking about the contender from Finland, she had every right to be DQ'ed because all she was defend, she did not attack at all
Shadow was a roid head
Most of them probably did roids.
