Thanks Dean, another great fix, you can hear the power that tool has got when you start it up. I must remember the tip re the grease it's sort of counter-intuitive you'd think more grease would generally help avoid wear of the gears, experience shared is a great gift !
protool and narex (czech) are like teal and red makita and festo bought them out and renamed itself and protool to festool, left narex brand as is, they share alot tech between
This is Narex. Nowadays, it's no longer as high-quality as it used to be, and most of their products are labeled "Made in China." Even these grinders aren't very reliable. ruclips.net/video/zOI26cxPC_Y/видео.html
@rendova-opravna Yes, like most of the tools nowadays. Some green Bosch is made in Hungary for DIY use or Makita is Romania, but I bet , that most of the parts are coming from China anyway. My Narex belonged to my father, as he was an electrician. In the 80-s they had almost no tools available, so he cared about it. Still works fine. Few years back I changed brushes and bearings ( 6202 , an impressive one by the way), parts were still available, however delivery cost me almost the same from Czech, as the parts itself.
@@gc8869 What type of drill is this? Back then, everything was made with quality to last as long as possible. Nowadays, engineers work to ensure things only last for a predetermined amount of time.
Festool still got Protool parts available, unfortunately they no longer list them on their site so you actually have to contact them or send the machine to them for repair. Not everything though, especially electronic parts like controllers are mostly obsolete.
I had a Protool variable grinder back in the day, I really liked it. Not a lot of vibration with it. Went to buy another one and they weren’t around anymore. Bummer.
If it runs ok maybe just check on the grease situation? Change if needed. Absolutely no need to buy a new one if ot works. @zaxmaxlax That's the attitude that got us in this shitty situation.
Great content buddy, have u done a brush replacement video on a bosch gst 90 240v at all? After watching hpurs of ur content im up for sorting my jigsaw out!
They bought it and make their tools in their factory in czech republic, drills and grinders. I think saws are still made in germany but maybe im wrong.
this might be the smoothest sounding gear box on an angle grinder i have ever heard in my life. cudos.

I still have a functioning Narex hammer drill from 1987. Very well built machine.

When I see you wiping all sort of dirt and grease into your hoodie or sweater, I am admiring how much patience your wife has with you :D
who says my wife cleans my close. shes not allowed to wash my closes. I dont buy expensive cloths because she keeps destroying them. 🤣
Nice one Dean. I love that torch shining tip for finding it. I should start making a list of all your fine tips.
The difference between a pro & me is I see if it runs before installing the cover screw.

New to the channel, really enjoy watching, from the US
Awesome! Thank you!
That things got some serious power in it!⚡🔌👌🏻👍🏻🛠️🔧
its an impressive machine. built like a tank
Nice fix! Just in case you didn't notice already: the video says "Protocol Ginder" rather than "Protool Grinder".
Cool, thanks
@@deandohertygreaser Another small typo "but what brand they they become." should probably say "but what brand did they become."
When I see you fixing 4 inch grinders I think why they are so cheap, but when it's a quality tool like this might get another 20 years from it!
Nice job Dean, never knew Festivals beginings
Damn autocorrect....*Festool! 😅😂
Nice fix Mr Dean! My first grinder is 25 years old- should I replace the grease in the head?
You should probably buy a new one instead.

Interesting to know about the name change
Festo became festool in 2000 to separate it from festo air tools.
It's still a family run businesss.
Yep festool came from a spin off company of festo the robotics company… check out some of there flying creations. Amazing stuff.
What a well made machine. Well used but still has plenty of life left.
Lol might be a protool but it's a PROTOCOL in the title Damn those Spell Checkers

I thought Festo became Festool
Correct . Festo was called Fezzer Und Stoll before that. Festool bought protool

But is that her?
Symphony Technology Group (STG), a private equity firm, acquired Avid Technology, the maker of Pro Tools, in November 2023 for $1.4 billion
That would be "pro tools" the digital audio workstation, not the tool brand shown here
