How much porting did u do on the exhaust side? I'll be running a 531 soon using a hx35 but I want to have as little lag as possible, plus did u use the 38mm valves on the stock valve seats?
Hi! Nice! I'm also doing the same B230ET block right now. But a lot of people say that the 55mm-main bearing crankshaft ('85-'89) can only handle 400HP. And that it is also good to improve the central axial bearing to 360°. So how is it in practice? Thanks for the reply. Tom.
Afaik the b230 88A blocks are weak due to smaller main bearings (low friction) and the axial bearings. I have not tested it out myself yet as I have always replaced my 88A with 88B for my builds. But, I have read and heard stories about the axial bearings more or less falling out of place at high revolutions.
@@ASDASD34RDFS Thanx, but the main bearings are almost the same. They're just smaller: they're not 63mm, but 55mm in diameter (and they even have more oil, because the squiters take away the high oil pressure). 85-89- "Low friction" is called lubrication-cooling of pistons from below. But this is rather good for low piston temperatures. I'm also trying to double those thrust bearings. Then you get 360° bearings. Well, I'll see when I finish the whole thing if at 7400rpm. it will explode!!! :-
@kishmick low friction is due to tighter tolerances afaik. The block itself is also not used often as the rods are the weakest and will bend. Honestly dont know much about 88A. 88b are better in every way and you can get a block here for around 100 dollars with everything else included.
@@ASDASD34RDFS Now I have both blocks at home. And now I'm putting together a low friction. So I can have a perfect comparison. But my point was that no one but me noticed that there was a block 85-89 in this video. And this particular block on the video isn't used much for high-end tuning.
