Old video, but thought i'd throw my 2 cents in to anyone watching this in 2022. As someone who has this game in my top 5 games (I like medium to light board games with an occasional taste for the heavy, like ROOT)
I think the thing about tactics and strategy is that you have to pay attention to what you think your opponents are trying to do. This is where game sense and awareness comes into play. Where you deny them the ability to achieve their goals either through buying cards that'd combo good with their cards. Taking ships you otherwise wouldn't take if not only to prevent someone else from getting it. But also table talk. Space Park is a great game for table talk where you can clue your opponents in on what your other opponent is doing, so can team up to prevent their victory, if not slow their pace down.
It brings an interesting dynamic to the game and makes it much more competitive as you're forming and breaking temporary alliances for your own gain.
So while there's definitely a limit to what you can do alone. I think the more receptive the table is to talking with each other. The more interesting the game becomes.

I would buy posters of some of those action spaces!

Nice art! I love that this retro sci-fi art is a popular thing in board games now.

Your reviews are great, Zee. Just bought Space Park to play with my wife. Short game play is important, and replayability won't be a problem because this game will only be occasional among many others. Thanks!

It has a Trails (from the Parks theme) feel to it: collect resources to purchase badges; move a bear/robot to collect extra resources. However, it's different enough from Trails to possibly be worth picking up.

Regarding Scout - This game was crowd funded; unfortunately, the Kickstarter didn't quite reach the stretch goal funding for making him a mini.

Kinda dumb though still. They couldn't just make the stretch goal that made the rockets into a mini a stretch goal that makes all the figures into minis? It's just one more.

The rockets were always going to be plastic minis. Scout is a standee because creating a custom mold for a new type of plastic mini is expensive. That's why we had to make it a stretch goal.

@@henryaudubon I think he looks awesome. The fact that you folks were willing to hear feedback from us backers regarding his design is equally as awesome! Excited to get my copy :)

My scout will probably be replaced by a nice Wall-e or Eve figure. :)

Late to the party. Own Parks and Nightfall just got Trails lead me back to Space Parks. I'm wondering if the size differences in gems keyed to the badge cards is a way to address color blind players or just esthetics and variety? I'm basing that on what the components look like in his unboxing video. I may pick it up tomorrow at my FLGS.

The art is so busy that the cards blend and I don’t really feel like I’m traveling from one place to another. Maybe instead of a rocket it should be a rover moving from one terrain to another.

Looks like a bit of a Century-like game. Might try this one out.

I’m using a Minecraft mini of a Guardian as the Scout.

Ahh.. Angela.. wait till the video ends and read other peoples comments before commenting lol Thanks for clearing up why the Scout is a standee Zee / folks. Thought that was strange. This looks like a cute little game, I've actually got it on order at the moment based purely on the theme. Thanks Zee.

Love your reviews, Zee! But can you use a green color for positive points and the red color for negative points! :)

You can move only to a location occupied by a rocket? No need to mark your current location? You kinds blew by the movement rule that applies to your location

At the beginning of your turn you take an action where a rocket of your choice is located.

Despite a higher rating on BGG, this feels like a worse version of Planet Defenders which has oddly a lowish rating. This does have nice artwork though.

    It has a major replayability.
    It's not a complex game because it's a nice beautiful filler game.🤦
