Thanks! I should be able to get to some clubs that were buried last time I was there. I hear the smooth face clubs that were uncovered have been picked over pretty well, so we’ll see.
Great stuff to be in a room full of hickory memorabilia. I met up with a guy in Manchester this week who just bought a local golf pro's collection. Some high end collectables - fascinating to see
Thanks for sharing. I love shows like that and wish I was anywhere near there. It's a bit of a drive from Southern California but maybe someday I'll make it. Your videos have been inspiring me to into Hickory play near me but I would have to find me a lefty set.
Yeah, sounds like we need to figure out how to get more GHS and SoHG events out by you. There’s an active scene in the Pacific Northwest but I don’t hear about much happening in southern CA. I’ve been acquiring a few lefty clubs here and there and I’ll keep looking for more. If you strike out in your search, feel free to reach out to me at thehickoryhacker@gmail.com
@@TheHickoryHacker Truly, most appreciated Sir. Having watched some of your videos, being fond of yesteryear, and just simply enjoy playing the game, my interest in knowing more is gaining momentum. Perhaps with you having stoked my interest, I can try to make some contacts out these ways and get something going.
I wish I had known about this show when I lived in Columbus. Personally I have found my interest in playing vintage/retro golf focusing more on the 1950s-70s era rather than hickory. I played hickory last week for the first time in several months. I enjoy it, but the 1950s MacGregor woods and retro blades are what currently hold my primary interest. I still enjoy playing hickory, but I don’t do it often enough to choose it over vintage steel play. When I am playing hickory, it’s late era hickory. I just can’t see myself getting interested in feathery or gutty golf. But it’s great to see the interest in vintage play from any era.
Most of the Society of Hickory Golfers hickory golf events usually have a trade show component to them, too, so hopefully there’s one relatively near you sometime this year.
@@TheHickoryHacker I did "pick up" a nice niblick and deep-grooved mashie at auction recently. Yes I'll be at Sewanee for that event, but am trying to get a "full" bag before then so I can actually play my hickories and not borrowed ones. I've got some epoxying and gripping yet to do-and straightening.
Just getting into the market. Thanks for the information. 😊
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
Great glimpse into that show! And good luck on Tuesday happy hunting!

It's great to see the Columbus show. Thanks for bringing us along!
My pleasure!

I never get tired spending a day in a room like this. Fun people, too.

I didn’t take many photos of the classic era stuff, but there was quite a bit. Definitely something for everyone at the show.
Would have loved to have been there, just too far for me this time.

I’m looking for a Louisville golf longnose
Fairway club.
Any sightings?
Thanks
I didn’t see any this show but I’ll add it to my list of clubs to keep an eye out for.
