at first i thought their speech was pre-recorded because they could not accept the award in person. in American award shows, it is unorthodox to do a prerecorded speech when they can do a live speech. i also noticed European music performances on TV tend to be lip synced more. Some people prefer lip synced because it sounds better. it seems that the European shows put more emphasis on constant entertaining and making sure the show runs as they planned.
