Misha (RUclipsr) was able to track the car with no overheating issues. For reference the new Model 3 highland performance brakes overheated 1/4 way through the lap and also limited power by 50% before the first lap even finished!! This car should be able to keep up with a Taycan 4s... In a straight line and around a track. Similar acceleration and weight
I'm curious as well, but the porche might have better weight distribution... The shape and design should help it keep it's weight where it's supposed to be, no? Idk. But when they start making dedicated 1-2 seater EV's solely for the track it's going to be pretty insane.

Couple of issues with the Mach-E and the test in general... 1) State of charge - The only commentary we have is that the Mach-E was at least at a 60% SoC. This can impact power output and the resulting times. What was the SoC of the other vehicles? What are their power curves based on SoC? I don't know, but it's certainly an important factor/consideration. But more importantly... 2) Drive mode - The Mach-E was in Unbridled Extend. This mode reduces peak power. I found a Mach-E Forum post that suggested this reduction can limit power to about 70%. I am not sure of the accuracy of that, but the same post did link an EV Pulse video that did compare 0-60 times between modes. In that video, the Mach-E was definitely hampered in Unbridled Extend when compared to the regular Unbridle mode. We already have Ford quoting 3.3 seconds for 0-60 and 11.8@114 in the 1/4 for the 2024 Mach-E GT with performance upgrade. 100% correct. On the power bar, the minute you select Unbridled Extended you'll see the power limiting bars show up for about the top 1/4 of the gauge. I have a '24 GT with Performance Upgrade, and when ran in the proper drive modes and state of charge (anything above 60% or so), the car has no issues running in to the 11 sec 1/4 range with a 113-115 trap speed. @@CanadianBurger The "Extend" in the mode is the clue. That cuts power so you get more consistent performance around a road course. It makes the car significantly slower on a drag strip.
Two surprises. 1. Ioniq5N is Hyundai N's first BEV. It has the Ioniq6N and GV60 Magma left with higher levels of software and a battery management system. 2. Even Ioniq5N is not a drag machine, and the Drag Race is not the best thing about Ioniq5N. Ioniq5N is the corner villain.

Might as well get a Toyota Prius and complaint it can’t do quarter mile in 11 sec. Utterly absurd. 🙄
Take the Mach-E out of unbridled extend mode. In Unbridled extend the power is LIMITED to something like 80% of what it's rated, and it's intended for use in LONG hard racing, like in a rally race or something similar so that it can run longer without overheating components. Unfortunately this was not a fair test, and your choaen settings handicapped the Mach-E. For short drag races you should not be limiting power with this mode turned on.
WTF is wrong with Ford? why would you call it Unbridled Extend? What is that a reference to a dressage horse? Marketing wank I think. Best would have been "Track Mode" then "Drag Mode"

They ran the mustang in unbridled extended mode. That's why it ran the terrible times it did. They just need to run it in unbridled and it would've performed like it should. Unbridled extended is for lapping(track use).
My understanding from the note Ford shows on the screen that the power is not reduced. Also, there is no actual proof that the car is slower in extended mode. Or did someone do the test in different modes with times?
Ford has been marketing unbridled extended mode for track use where it limits max power for longer lap times. It's all over the forums as well. It's not for drag racing. That's why you got 12.9 and were not in the high 11 seconds range for 1/4 mile. Also performance upgrade for the 700tq is also needing to be activated under the connected services in ford pass. It will show on the drive mode screen that is been enabled. would love to see you run it in unbridled to see what you get. Will be nice to compare.@SamCarLegion

This is what happens when people don’t do their research. They ran the Mach E in “unbridle extend” mode. That mode cuts more than 100 hp out of the Mach E. It’s made for driving longer laps at a track, NOT for drag racing. The Mach E should run high 11s in the 1/4 mile and beat both the ZDX and Model Y.
It's clear that this test was flawed. I'd wager the chances for a retest are slim to none. It's hard when the channel would rather argue that running in Unbridled Extend isn't even a problem.
Stop typing lies. I have had the Mach E GT many times, that car is fast off the line and then goes into “ I am tired now boss”. Everyone making up things that don’t exist. Im like 99% they benchmarked the Taycan. Mainly because the Ioniq 5 N was meant to be able to do 1 nurburgring lap, fast charge, then do another nurburgring lap without overheating.
And guess what?

They literally call out beating the Model Y Performance in their marketing now.

@@solidmasta1 no cares how quick it is or isn't when it's that ugly. Thing looks like a Chinese fish from the front and has the most plain jane rear tail lights ever. But wait! It's gets better! The interior has a single plain jane steering wheel and an ipad! With no cool gauge cluster screen or even a HUD.
Model 3 will lose.
@@G82WattsModel 3 looks like frog. And you are 100% right about that interior. It resembles the inside of a coffin with a steering wheel and a tablet.
Which one is more reliable???
Ioniq 5, is a Beast and it's Beauty!!
The bounce on that mustang when it pulled up to a stop at 1:00 ,where it jiggled and bounced like a bowl of jello... ohh man! how can a modern vehicle have suspension like that?
@@skip741x3 5n은 바퀴와 연결되는 축이 일반 자동차보다 아래위로 움직이는 거리가 레이싱에서 사용하는걸 적용했다고 합니다 일반 판매차량에 처음으로 레이싱용 기술적용
Expected results. Great job, Hyundai! The Ioniq N has less range than all of them, so I wouldn’t make that compromise
Thats fair. But the range numbers arent nearly as bad as the epa estimates if you actually drive it normally, but its not an easy car to drive normally either.
The EPA estimate aggregates the efficiency of the different drive modes, so they never tell you the full efficiency of the "Eco" mode where the front motor is physically disengaged via a clutch and you cruise around with the rear motor only. Its pretty common to get 250-270mi in Eco mode without resorting to hypermiling tactics.
Ionoq 5 N ($67,450, 0 - 60 in 3.0 sec) is a nice sweet spot between the Model Y Performance ($51,450, 0 - 60 in 3.5 sec) and Model X Plaid ($88,490, 0 - 60 in 2.5sec).
Hmmm..... something is really wrong with the Mustang times in the 1/4 mile. I have seen much better ones in the 2023 version and the 2024 version is faster than the 2023 version. Did the driver ensure that the car was in unbridled mode?
@@fuzzoptic7476 Of course not. These geniuses decided to run it in Unbridle Extended and still chose to post the results 🕳️👨🦼
Great style race. Love the data side by sides. Mustang rebelling against longer range high performance, stubborn to upgrade the software and wild in short spurts, yuck. I still love the looks though. 🎉 Cheers
How does it comapre to the US spec 2024 Model 3 Performance
Quite similar
As a s650 mustang gt owner I've never been happier
It will be interesting to see how the upcoming model Y Performance Juniper compares to the Ioniq 5N
I am wondering if Hyundai Ioniq 5N is like this then what would be the case with Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo.
Do you get the MG Cyberster over there?
What's up with the Mustang GT bouncing at the introduction? Bad suspension/shocks? Kinda weird to see a GT bouncing like that.
That mustang is slow...It has all that Torque and so, it should have been faster off the line even with 10 less horsepower . Good race. The Ioniq needs to race the Model X plaid
The mustang has less HP than the type S. Not sure what you saw? 499 to 480.
@@AcuraChannel 🤣
Thank u sam for my request granted the ioniq5 dragf race.
why on earth is the Acura (gm) 1000 lbs heavier than the ford?? wow.... at least the hyundai has 140 more HP so weighing similar to the acura.. My wife wants an EV, but wants range also.. would have been nice to see the range on those numbers charts..... Great video !! Thanks !
If you want range buy a standard ioniq 5 or 6 with rear motor, the latter will give you 350+ miles range. Or buy the long range Tesla model 3 which will have similar range.
The zdx is a much bigger car than the rest. It's like 10" longer than the model y and a foot longer than ioniq 5 n for example. It also has a bigger battery than the rest at 102kwh. Being a luxury car it is equipped with more features as well than the rest.
The 5 is cool. I've been seeing them more and more on the road out here. Notice tho that most of these cars are solely focused on the 0-60 and let off power after that. We need some software unlocks. I love how it just sounds like a pack of jets racing.
Now rerun against model 3 highland performance !!!!!
You mean Model 3 Ludicrous
How much more does that one cost?
20 thousand less than the Hyundai
Tesla is a drag-only vehicle, but the 5N is a track model. Misha tested both vehicles at the Nurburgring, but Tesla's brakes overheated before it could even make it halfway around the track, while the 5N was stable even after two laps of the Nurburgring. This is the difference in battery performance and BMS performance. Tesla is good at autonomous driving, but its battery and BMS technology are not up to Korean companies. This is because Korean companies are currently the best in the world in these fields.
Does the mustang had the upgrade?
So per Sam, which one is Acura SDX?
Previously, Hyundai followed other manufacturers, but in the era of electric vehicles, the opposite would be true, and other manufacturers would follow Hyundai
That GM Acura badged Chevy Blazer EV
I think you forgot to mention that the car is fast😂.
Mentioning the disability of the EV’s getting to the track, with the windmills not producing any power in the background, is typical.😂
