The place is gorgeous! I'll be moving to Calgary straight from the Philippines in about a month from now, and your videos got me really excited to explore the place.
Beautiful view I can only say. The baby is smiling all the time. My kids are a bit older and my son the last time we went hiking was a real monster making me completely lose my patience. Hope they grow up to appreciate it.
Have you tried Johnston Canyon yet? A little easier hike for the little ones but amazing views of the canyon and waterfalls. If the kids are up to it, keep going to the top to reach some cool little inkpots. Enjoy your first summer in the Rockies
What are you're things to do next?? You should do a video on the things that interest you and what you hope to see this year and next. You should go to one of the corn mazes in late summer, your kids will love it. Maybe the crazy rollercoaster/pipe coaster thing in Revelstoke, BC. Go to Peachland in the Okanagan. They used to have festivities with Peach EVERTHING. Same thing in Taber, Just corn instead of Peaches.
You should try zip-lining one day, (maybe in the future when your kids are older) I'm not sure what there is in the Rockies for zip-lines, but there's some really cool trails in Whistler
You guys should really do some hiking in any of the crownland areas. you can camp any where for free, as long as you are 1km or more away from the road/highway.
There are a lot of other hikes out there! Google "toddler friendly Kananaskis" Keep hiking with them. I once made it to the top of the ridge of Hellen Lake and there was a couple with their 3 year old son who had made the 400m elevation gain on his own very small feet. They weren't going very fast but they were going! As for your own confidence, practice, practice practice!
if you want a CRAZY hike, and WAY better views. You need to do the "Goat Lake Trail"(Waterton). It's so amazing that you'll need to make a reservation for the camping spots. I don't want to ruin it for you, but it's a lake on top of a mountain. Then once you are done you can do the Belvue mines and Turtle mountain ( the worst natural disaster in Canadian History... I think).
First Name Lily I was sort of making a general comment. You are probably going to have to wait a few years for this one. It's not incredibly difficult. But it is incredibly long. 10ish hours one way. But the rewards are so worth it. Waterton is seriously a must see
Mike Friesen is that one open? I went to Waterton last Monday and so many were still closed. Red Rock was open, if you parked by Bears Hump and walked to it. (It was my first time going to im still learning it lol)
Those people who said not to move here as its cold , and the people are rude , have clearly never seen what a beautiful part of the planet we live in ! That lake was stunning ! Nice video Lily ! and we're not rude either :)
It sure is a nice view. We are pretty lucky to have such a wonderful place so close by.
Lily your amazing to do the hike with two little ones, watching your baby laughing as you came down the trail was soooooooooooo cute- made my day.

The "problem" living in Calgary is: too close to the mountains, and you HAVE to be there every weekends. :p
The Canadian Eh! :p

First 😀
What’s the name of that trail?
Canmore is FAR nicer than Banff....not as busy, not so many tourists!😁
