Sadly we moved and the movers kept all our belongings. Which included All my Art supplies and Brushes, my Art table, Pounds of water color paper, pads and paints. I was so depressed I have not been able to even think of doing any Art. You inspired me to heal myself by starting small. It is very painful but I am trying to begin. Thank you for the inspiration and helping me out of my hole. I will keep yopu posted on my progress. :- (
What a terrible thing you went through! I am so sorry. Keep making art--it is truly so healing. 💕

Thanks Emily, after watching your 'hands' tutorial done in DS Iridescent Scarab, I had to subscribe! These koi were fun, I had a tiny block of Amalfi rough in my paper stash and it had just one sheet left, so I put it to good use!
Thanks so much for subbing and I’m so glad you enjoyed this painting project!

Amazing.. thank you..
This was my first first painting and I like how it came out. It didnt come out as good as her own obviously but it came out nice and it was fun. I used 100% cotton canvas
That's great!
Thxs for sharing, it's an amazing painting.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
That’s cute☺️💕👍🏻
wow, this is amazing! I am trying this today! how are you able to be so precise?
she uses a "round brush", but I also recommend using a masking fluid marker since I'm a bit clumsy
great
Her: We don't need perfect fish
Also her: Draws perfect fish
*Sigh
Nice
Keep in mind that whenever painting on an aquaboard, one should wet the entire board before painting and let that layer dry. This is to get rid of any air bubbles in the clay layer. Skipping this step may result in a speckled look where the air bubbles pop from inside the clay once wet.
In addition it is better if you let an aquaboard dry naturally rather than using a heat tool or hair dryer.
Great advice about the aquabord!
Frame 1:24 clearly shows the pencil marking.
This looks easy but hard a the same time
Hey !! The clean water you use is drinking water or ? Or pipe water ?
Btw i love your videos !!!
Just tap water. :)
@@EmilyOlsonArt thank you so much !!
tysm!
new subscriber here .. i saw a few of your posts on instagram , and they're wonderful
.. I've been watercolorist for many years, and also have fallen in love with gouache in the last year or so.. thanks for these tutorials.. I'm norakag on instagram .. thanks again .. loved your zebra piece do much!! .. norakag
Thanks for subbing! So glad you are enjoying the tutorials!
Awww! its so pretty! Thanks for sharing definitely going to use some of your techniques! Im really bad at watercolor
There's no such thing as "bad at watercolor". Just progressing! 😉 Glad you enjoyed it!
Really love the background. I don't like Aquaboard it feels really gritty with my brushes. I have 2 small pieces of it, 1 has been washed a few times and the other I've never toucnhed.
That’s ok! It is definitely a surface that takes getting used to! I like how it kind of encourages me to paint more loosely. Have you seen Ali Cavanaugh’s work? She paints exclusively on aquabord and her portraits are phenomenal!
Super
nice, what paper are u using gr.??
All supplies are listed in the description. :)
i did it in a normal A4 size sheet will it work ?
Of course! Use what you have. :)
@@EmilyOlsonArt ok thank you
Can you share the nail polish you are wearing?
I used salton mine and it turned out really good.
That’s so great to hear! 🙂
Wow!!!!!! Mam im learning a lot from you thank you so much mam🙏im indin
I like trains
I saw this on google♥️♥️♥️
Same
is it possible to use regular paper?
Definitely you can use watercolor paper!
That is amazing my dear friend! You are awesome!! Lets get connected 😊 ❤️
Can that work on paper too? Or do I have to use a canvas
Yes, you can definitely do this on watercolor paper!
I never new i needed water color paper for water coloring i thought you could use any paper and all i really have is a sketch book, any tips on what i should do?
Here is a video I made all about my favorite watercolor papers and surfaces: ruclips.net/video/rVprDTL_suQ/видео.html
@@EmilyOlsonArt ok thank you!
Is there a mix to make transparent orange?
W&N Transparent Orange is a "single pigment" orange (PO107) so I'm not sure it can be mixed. I'm not an expert on pigments, so I'd have to research this some more. :)
What’s the number of the brush ?
I used my size 6 round here.
Tip: Draw slowly
My background was okay, but when I did the fish, the color and water just bled out into the water and I ruined it ☹
That's ok! I still do that, too sometimes! I hope you'll give it another try! 🙂
Did you wait for the blue to dry completely before you started with the orange? If the background is still wet when you start painting the fish then everything will join together like rain into a puddle.
@@mydogeatspuke I used a hair dryer to dry the background first, but I think I used too much water when filling in the fish. At first, it looked like it was going okay, then moments later the water/colors from the fish bled out.
@@winteress27 oh, yeah, knowing how much water to use can be really hard at first. If you have a lamp or a torch on your phone, you should just be able to see a slight shine on your paper surface under direct light. If there's a puddle of water that you could soak up with a paper towel then you've used wayyyyyy too much. It just takes practice!
@@mydogeatspuke Thanks for the tip!! :D
