After talking with some wedding photographer friends, I've realized there are a few 'photography rules' that can stir up lots of discussion and disagreement. Today, I'm sharing five of these topics. These are just my opinions based on what works for me in wedding photography. I'm curious to hear your thoughts?

Would you mind do a more details video about the facebook ads step by step as I'm not young like you and with marketing backgrounds? Thanks in anticipation. I subscribed and watched all your videos so far. There's another guy I followed on by the name of Gerard Needham. He has a great way of explaing just like you, calm and to the point. I just subscribed and I'm picking up a ton from your videos. I work as a wedding photographer, but it's not my main hustle. I mostly do other things to make a living, and I'm often the 2nd shooter.

@@mjcarneiro Absolutely, I'm passionate about wedding photography. Although I still have a lot to learn, I feel a burning drive every time I photograph weddings, even though shooting a 10-hour wedding day can be exhausting. At the end of the day, I'm thrilled to provide my service to the couples, contributing to making their wedding day the happiest day of their lives.
It's very true. I'm a wedding photographer as well. I don't do a lot of them but what I try and do is not make it about me. You need to immerse yourself in the day and be discreet and just be an addition to the day not be the focus of it as photographers we can be very self-centred about the work we do and that's fine but we need to remember that it's not about us on that day. It's about them, good video and good advice
It’s very hard, because as creatives we don’t want to miss the opportunity of getting good photos, but- like you said- we need to remember that it’s not about us, and do what’s best for the couples 🤍
In other words, we're just the hired help. A simple concept 95% of photographers can't seen some understand.

4:43 Three rolls of film!? What joke!!!
Ummm i’d say most of my couples still want to have a bridal party, which is totally fine (not my wedding to decide), but I only spend like 10min now with bridal party photos
And what do you mean about the film?
@@mjcarneiro Nah! Not my clients. I make it very clear on my website by saying I only photographer elopements, micro and small wedding of up to 120 guest and not at the beach or sand dunes. Then! I have a blog post titled "The Bridal Party Idea for Weddings is Outdated." So that's how I've been able to book clients with no bridal party.
The film? On the priceless you showed a price list (not sure if it's your or someone else's) saying three rolls of film. Again, because I use film almost exclusively to photograph an entire wedding, it seems like a joke to even mention said photographer is going to use ONLY three rolls. It's like why even mention it. Just take photos on said three rolls, not bring it up and see if the client even notices.
