Just to put it out there, Alpaca's have the nerves of there teeth at the base of the teeth. So they don't feel the pain of the teeth getting sheared off. Humans have nerves from base to tip so we'd feel pain, but its different for alpacas. So ya, the animal's fine.
@@nooneinparticular5256 I don't think anything. From what I have heard they can just have huge dental problems- and some animals have teeth that continue to grow out like fingernails/claws. Also after a quick google search that didn't reveal too much, I found out they have 'fighting teeth' which are ridiculously sharp and they can seriously hurt you or other alpaca's with them.

Imagine getting to a point in your life where cutting your thumb off is nothing more than an annoyance. Like "ugh, guess Ill go to the hospital for this *again*"
Just Joking I hope you know that if they don’t do that the males will castrate each other. Not much of a farm if their dick is infected and they can’t mate.
Im guessing in the wild alpaca's would of chewed on something that would of filed there teeth down? like how beavers teeth always grow but are constantly worn down through what they eat
Well, maybe, but I believe he mentioned alpacas being heavily domesticated so it could just be a gene that came along with being fire resistant and fluffy for humans. You are probably right though, like hamsters.. I wonder what would happen if their teeth didn't grow? Nature has funny ways of evolving over time, I would think a simpler solution would to have really hard teeth.
Elmo - Well if you look at where alpacas naturally dwell, there's lots of trees and shrubs. While they'd no doubt eat the leaves, to strip the branches they'd end up scraping the wood, filing their teeth. Domesticated alpacas get their food in piles, no need to pry them from branches. So their teeth aren't naturally being worn down. (That's my guess anyway)

This is the kind of education the core curriculum lacks and will likely never have... and sadly... is exactly what kids need more than anything. This kind of thing inspires a level of intellectual and creative confidence and experience that is very hard to beat. The stuff of prodigal children. Wouldn't that be cool? Like if common core and the people who run the unions didn't bleed the system and we weren't processed like cattle to a one-size-fits-all cheap model of general ignorance??? What if we lived in a world where our children were actually given the analytical skills and abilities to produce real world things aside from macaroni art? Something to think about.
"Trim their teeth" I am sure I misheard and am not about to be wracked with intense sympathy pains even if this is one of those animals that doesn't have teeth full of nerve endings. *Circular saw goes BURR*
That alpaca was probably yelling that it didn't want to die, or that they would never get away with this. I wonder if it left confused that it was just naked.
haha its probably screaming how they'll never get away with it XD I don't know about the teeth part, but shaving them doesn't hurt. taking care of their nails can hurt if done wrong
+Kunal Aggarwal Most likely they would get too long and damage the inside of their mouth. I saw something like that once in some TV show happen to some animal.
I love your videos bro keep up the great work! you should make a video on creating some form of electronic device from scratch I think that would be your best creation If you could pull it off! If you accept my challenge I wish you the absolute best luck!
Everything from the teeth cutting, to their hooves scraping against the floor and their screams of agony, I've come to the conclusion that Alpacas are the cringiest animals to take care of, and I just saw Andy have to murder his cute little silk worms, but god, at least they didn't
also, they aren't screams of agony, they just really don't want to be layed down and/or shaved so they scream to try and intimidate you, or as a call of help trying to get their buddies to hurt you (I learned this while on a week long fieldtrip in Colorado XD)
How messed up am I when I thought the alpaca's mouth and chin was someone's crossed arms over a table, its eye the person's open mouth and lower teeth, and the hair above it the person's nose and slant eyes.
I found this to be very cruel The animals was obviously in a lot of distress just so you could abuse it and takes from its body. Honestly you will reap what you sow
You know that the alpaca would have suffered more if it wasn’t sheared and had its teeth trimmed, right? The teeth have no feeling, if not trimmed they’d become ingrown and cause infections and the inability to eat. If the fleece wasn’t sheared it would overheat. It wasn’t in pain, it was confused.
the storm recorded on a potato 1. If the alpaca wasn’t trimmed/sheared it would have overheated 2. If the teeth weren’t trimmed they would have become ingrown and they would have began to pierce the roof of the mouth, causing infection and the inability to eat 3. They don't have hooves actually, they have clawed paws, as a bear would. Their screams are a mix between dog howls and goat vocalizations.
