There is no better feeling than your styling product to have slip, it just makes your wash day worthwhile!! It helps to make sure the product is evenly distributed and maintains all of your previous detangling actions!!
I personally love ALL my curly hair products to have slip, from cleanser to gel/cream. It’s all about the experience. Styling products with slip makes the process faster and more enjoyable. Especially when you have tight curls, slip helps the curls clump faster when used with water.
Slip is definitely important because even after you've detangled, some stylers can cause tangling depending on application process. When you're raking stylers through long hair slip is important to not pull your hair out. Girl I love and need slip in all my products.
Not a waste of time AT ALL! Tay, I’m 100% with you on this one. Slip in stylers is really important to me, even though I keep my hair short like LA’s, because i have really tightly coiled type 4 hair. You mentioned two of the products that are in my standard wash & go routine: DevaCurl BLievein (clumps my coils amazingly), followed by Morrocanoil Curl mousse (amazing foamy slip that seals up my clumps & makes them really shiny). Now, I do love one styler that has like no slip at all: DevaCurl Superstretch cream. It’s actually takes slip away, lol, when I’m putting it in, but the end result is worth it. Go figure.
I love that you are doing these videos! It makes finding/ learning about different options super easy when there's one video to reference back to for a particular category. The only bad part is constantly having to open my wallet to try everything out lol.
Thank you ladies! I tried the mango slip detangler with wet line xtreme gel and it was a perfect combo. Products went in together like melted butter. Keep the videos coming! 😊
Yes, this video definitely provides much needed information. Products that have slip are important, because slip prevents friction between hair moving across itself which causes damage, tangles and shedding.
LoriAnne Be low key dragging Soultanials all the while loving them all at the same time 😂😂😂 It’s sooo funny to me. Not sure if anyone else has noticed that but it’s so funny to me lmao 🤣🤣
I needed this video yesterday. No matter how much I detangled my hair the knots were coming back and my hair was not having it. The Mielle custard has so much slip that it slips out of my hand but it wouldn’t have mixed
Yes!! Slip matters! I’ve used kinky curly Custard as a one and done and I’ve also paired it with other leave ins and creams and it’s worked perfectly. I love it especially now with all this humidity. Great job with the list it’s right on point. Great job ladies.
Some styling products definitely have slip!!! I need them to have slip! My hair tangles again by the time, I section for styling!! I did use Kinky Curly Curling Custard as a One-N-Done. It came out with hard, extremely defined curls. The Knot-Today has 0 slip, & tangled my hair! M. A. D. Doggie is so adorable!!! 🐶 Thanks for the vid!!!💖💖💖
Lea Butler the kinky curly custard and leave in definitely have to be used on soaking wet hair, the only part about them that I don't like. Did you try the knot today on super wet hair?
@@livismith5007 I did use both on soaking wet hair. The Knot-Today still tangled my hair. I didn't have that problem with Curling Custard, in fact it helped get rid of the tangles. I just decided to skip the leave-in after that.
Agree with the knot sauce and curlmaker. Great slip! I use them together in a wash and go . They're fantastic together. Haven't tried any of the others.
Omg, this was total cuteness ... Lorianne say water does not have slip, too OMG!!! It was on after that!! It's alright Tay, you took it like a champ, like daughters do, lol!! Def'ly will be copping/considering Jane Carter and Alikay. I do want styler w/moisture, definition and shine. Ya'll looking pretty today, I need that Tshirt in my life, fr!!! Thanks for all you doooo!!!
This video does not waste time. Very informative and gives your perspective on all of your product experience. You refresh our memory on how to use. Silicones and coconut oil provide tons of slip, so my only issue would be to make a mention if they were in those products. Enjoyed this very much.
Thank you ladies for such helpful advice. I also recommend Renpure coconut styling gel. It has incredible slip and great hold. It’s zero sodium chloride, sulfates, Dyes, harsh salts parabens and gluten free.
I'm watching this while I'm getting ready for work, doing my hair. To add to this concept I would say the Aussie leave-in Milk and the Aussie Creme Pudding is just gliding thru my hair right now. It's one of my favorite W&G maybe mostly for the scent but also bcz it's glycerin free and it's pouring this morning here in NYC! But yes definitely hmmm more glide than slip ?? Lol PS awww Doggie, thx for the cameo appearance 💙🐶💙
I just went to TJ Max and picked up Jane Carters curls to go- calling all coils gel, which i used back in the day and lived. You just reminded me how much I loved the line. Couldn’t find the leave-in
omg, you’re making me want a puppy! if you knew me you’d know that’s really saying something. he’s adorable! great video, as always. my only hair comment is that in my experience many different leave-ins work with the kinky curly custard. i’ve tried it with tons of leave-ins on my hair and my daughter’s and never experienced any issue. might be bc i’m high porosity?? done rambling. thanks for another great one!
Have you guys tried the Jane Carter Solution slumber party leave in! Omg it’s the bomb with slip! I think Jane Carter hit it with the slip for leave in
I like the brown color theme in this video ^.^ I personally like a lot of slip in all of my products except for shampoo. There are people whose hair is prone to tangling so having products with a lot of slip throughout the washing and styling process would be beneficial.
Yes it’s nice to have stylers with slip not for detangling purposes but for gliding, raking and shingling purposes. LADIES WITH TYPE 4 HAIR, have you used products that are one and done that actually came out bomb? I’ve never used a styler without a leave in conditioner. I have type 3C/4A hair. Your thoughts or suggestions?
See, even when using a Styler by itself, I do still put some oil underneath for added protection and lubrication, so it's not truly a one and done. But I like Fantasia Argan Oil Styling Pudding, Palmers Coconut Oil Pudding and Design Essentials Cream Gel. I have 4a-4b hair and these work well to give hold and moisture.
I love stylers with slip! And if anyone else is looking for a "one and done" with slip, LUS Brands All-In-One Kinky-Coily styler has so much and is amazing!
I look for slip in all my hair products including stylers. My hair is long & can start to tangle as it dries so I have to use a product with slip at each step of my wash n go. Tay you are not crazy, stylers must have slip too!!!
I love DevaCurl's B-Leavin and it mixes with other products. I am totally out, need to do a Ulta run. Ooooo, love TreLuxe, no glycerin good for the summer. My Briogeo products were just delivered today. Can't wait to try them next week. Hi Doogie!!!
I agree 100% Jane Carter Curls2Go product line is great overall. Leave in is HG. smells great, plays nice with different products, detangles, moisturizes, affordable, available on the ground too👍🏾
Great video ladies, I depend on my Deep Conditioner. To do the majority of prep work before I add my styler. However. I think there is a difference in the slip with stylers. For example Xtreme Wetline Gel and Camille Rose. Camille Rose definitely has more slip than Wetline. I get great results with both. But comparing the two Camille Rose has a much easier application.
I love love love Eden bodyworks coconut Shea leave in its also one of my faves the only con I have about it, is that he doesn’t pair well with any gels or other products..if you know of a good g that it pairs with please let me know..I absolutely look for stylers with slip I have fine hair strands that are easy to tangle...good video
I’ve always noticed slip in my stylers and gels. I’m like Taylor Anne- I like my stylers and gels to melt into my hair. I have a gel that I love but it has no slip so I definitely have to have a good amount of leave in or styler in my hair to make up for the lack of slip in that particular gel so I can continue to use it and have poppin curls!!!
I think that some stylers do have slip and that it does help to some extent but, my hair is also always detangled by that point. However, I do like to have that back up slip just in case.
The JC curls 2 go untangle me leave in is hands down the most slippery leave in EVER! No wash day is complete without it & I can use it under any of my stylers. It understands me, it completes me & it can never be replaced 🥰. Lol 😂 *lmk if you know the reference
Kinky curly custard mix well with the camille rose curlaide butter & it was an unexpected experience ! I put the butter on my hair than apply the custard then stop thinking "danm i put the wrong product" but continue anyways 😂 came out bomb & super soft with a good hold 😍😯 full week of definition even with the humid weather !! 💁🏾♀️
Knot today has a lot of sleep... for me!!! Wow, I think that even slip might be different for different type of hair 🤔. I used to love Pattern Pusha but have to stop using it because it tangled my hair as days went by... made wash day detangling more difficult 🙁
You have to hit Ricky’s before they close all stores!!! It’s so sad but of course I keep going to check and see what they have left Loved the video 👏🏼😍
Hi I just stumbled in to your channel very good information. You should list all the products you use not just the ones that you have discount for . It will really help having the name of the products your discussing . Thank you
personally i think the slip in stylers help because sometimes you detangle but when you get to adding the styler its already tangle because of your hair being so curly or density or even being busy and not putting in the styler right a way lol i dont know guys its just a big help .
Instead of buying a separate “leave in” I just leave in my conditioner. I really like the deva curl one condition. I use the original line even though I have super curly hair. The slip is wonderful. Then I follow with the arc angel which also has great slip. The decadence line is way to heavy and leaves a buildup.
So I will want my stylers like my gel to have slip especially when I Denman Brush curl my hair... otherwise I will have a brush handle stuck in my hair.
When will you do the video bit LoriAnne doing Tay's hair , also can you do a video not both picking out wash, condi, stylers for each other to do and review how they work, then do another body where you switch products you just picked out for each bit switch you do the other ones products
The Giovanni Direct Leave In Weightless Moisture Conditioner (8oz $7.99)and Treenaturals Honey, Fruit & Flowers Hair Milk (8oz $16.99) both have slip and are my one and done products. No gel needed on my hair. I’m good for 3-4 days before I have to refresh with water to reactivate the products. Peace and blessings Ladies.

I love leave-ins with slip! I detangle with them. Slip is essential for kinky coily hair.
What leave ins do you recommend?
Thank you ladies! I tried the mango slip detangler with wet line xtreme gel and it was a perfect combo. Products went in together like melted butter. Keep the videos coming! 😊

Yes. Slip makes a difference!
Hey guys !!! also i find that stylers that have the most slip give you the best definition .
Will you bring doing the summer series of wash & goes , best products
I love stylers with great slip!!! I refresh with Leave ins mid week so I really need them to detangle well. Love the shirts!!
I’m SO jealous of you girls’ SKIN! My goodness! Flawless!

I’m looking for a co-wash with good slip. Any ideas?
As I am Coconut Cowash
The DOUX Cowash

I would like to see split down the middle reviews
LoriAnne is s so shady in the second half of the video. Loved this playful banter. Thanks for the recommendation
To add to the list, Kriya botanicals low porosity leave in( so much slip and moisture) low porosity curl pudding, Shea Moisture jbco leave in, CurlMix avacodo moisturizer, Curls Blueberry Bliss hair milk. Lottabody curl and style milk, Cantu leave in conditioning cream, ORS for naturals butter whipped leave in, Cantu coconut curling cream, Cantu define and shine custard, TMC pearly braidout glaze, Aunt Jackie's curl-mane-tenance

If you use the rake and shake technique you need gel with slip. No matter how detangled your hair is.
I think it definitely has to do with length. Longer hair needs slip for everything👍👍
Wash and goes best products!!! Please!!
The Giovanni Direct Leave In Weightless Moisture Conditioner (8oz $7.99)and Treenaturals Honey, Fruit & Flowers Hair Milk (8oz $16.99) both have slip and are my one and done products.
