Aroun 5 years ago, I was working in downtown and my dad came down from dfw with our boat. We went and fished in the afternoon on lady bird.. it was my first time, it was also very very late spawn. I saw the biggest bass I’ve ever seen in person, on a bed in a bout 11’ of water. Every bit of 13-15 lbs man. I can DM you where.. it was in this inlet with really steep banks.. tried so hard to catch her.. she just sat there slowly slowly cruising around the bed area. She eventually got tired of us sitting there and left. Dad stayed the night just to see if we could go catch her the next day. Never saw her again! There are giants still in there. For.. SURE
Incredible man! Does not surprise me 1 bit. 5-8 years ago I used to as MUCH larger fish than I do now. They very well could still be in there and just EXTREMELY smart. Awesome story man thanks for sharing 🤝

I’m surprised some bass still get that big with jacked up mouths, I fish a murky lake here in my hometown and I find it hard to find those 2+ pounders. Also, I am a bank fishermen I guess it’s time for a kayak 👀 great video and love the humbleness ❤
Bass are such a hardy species! Investing in a kayak is a great choice. I LOVE bank fishing but it is nice to get off the bank from time to time. Thanks for the comment man🤝

Apparently you use both right & left hand reels. Curious why?
Great video.
It’s more of a recent thing. I’m pretty ambidextrous when it comes to fishing left and right. Left hand feels much better when making pinpoint flip casts. Being that I flip with my right hand so I can instantly engage the reel with my left.
What reel and rod are you using
I’m using a Bates Hundo as my reel, and a leviathan finesse swimbait rod.

I definitely think there is a few over 13 in there I broke on off on a slide swimmer because I had my drag locked and that fish was at least 12 pounds. Snapped brand new 20 pound Segar and it didn’t break at the knot.
Dang dude a lost 12 will keep you up at night.. been there before. Hard to say even a 12lb class fish is different from a teener. I’m worried there’s not enough moving water and too many little ones competing with larger fish. Hard to say if the bird grows teeners like she used to.

😂😂My hands are always scarred up from fishing.. It can definitely be brutal if you’re catching them mean enough. In this instance it was actually my girlfriend’s kitten that got me good ahhaha.
