Nah it’s ok but I wouldn’t say excellent

As someone who used to run a couple 1hr photo machines this is amazing. Pretty much mimics the process. Clever. Bonus no itchy hands from fixer and other silver manipulation chemicals.
Wow photoshop is not only saving our time but also our environment too. Kudos to photoshop 👏
I'll occasionally make color enlargements.
Getting the colors right is such a pain
there is a mobile app that does it instantly
@@monnke which app is it?
You... still need to develop your negatives tho...
leave a bit of the frame border when you crop, it will give you the most accurate white balance spot
wait, why? wouldn’t that mess with it? or am i just being dumb
@@Lynn-rv4tythe edge is what the film looks like when exposed to no light at all. So inverted it should be pure black. I don't know if it's the case in colour film, but black and white film also has factory markings on it saying what frame you are on and they should be the opposite, so pure white when inverted.

Don't do that. You aren't trying to colour correct the photo of the negative, you're trying to colour correct the negative.
Thankyou bro, i had my late brother's negative photo and i never saw my brother, he died before i was born and i tried your steps and saw him for the first time. My mother and father started crying after i showed them the photo. Thankyou so much ❤️
Edit: after commenting, I forgot that I even commented here, today (14 Nov 2023), for some reason a reply decides to popup on notification, saw 7k likes, got shocked but sad at the same time after reading some comments, people really think I commented to get likes, this is just sad that I know how it feels to lose someone even though I never saw my brother, he was just 10 yrs old when he passed. Never thought I had to clarify this.
That's awesome 👍👍

Good for you bro

It's a miracle for me that on today I was thinking how to print pictures from film negative of Kodak, Fuji i have lot of memory in there but there is no any studio in anywhere i can print. No photo studio now don't have machine and arrangements print from negative reel. Fortunately, this trick helps retrieve the past.
Till now I never felt the need of a save video button in shorts, really need that now
If you replace in the url of the video the /shorts/ with watch?v= it will go to the regular RUclips video player and you can save it
Just click like button & it will be kept in liked videos list , u can view it as like as saved videos
Just a min and appreciate this guy. He is one the best youtuber when it comes to video, photo and other tips. Now many people can revive their old negatives to memories
I just threw away boxes of old negatives a few months ago, thinking I had no use for them. I so regret doing that now😭
Never throw away negatives! They can always be scanned.
Gotta try this! I've got a lot of negative film photos from old times.
tell me how good it works, wanna try it with some negatives that will bring memories
Don't do this just use a flatbed scanner like an adult. Your home printer scanner combo will even work just use a high dpi and save it as a lossless file format like a tiff or png
@@Femboy_Coco fun thing is that. I don't have any printer. Just a laptop so this hack is pretty accurate for ppl like me who just want to do it for fun. And it works.

There are some scanners that can do this automatically:)
You can use the Threshold adjustment to find the darkest, brightest and grey points in the picture. Use the Color Sample picker to mark those points.

Every time I want to buy a film camera. I try to find this video to practice before I commit, but I can’t find it until I get out of the photography phase😂(everything I do is in waves) and here is the video!
If you don't plan on doing the chemistry yourself this isn't a necessary skill, as a development company will scan as well. If you want to give the chemistry a go black and white is really easy to get the basics of, and it isn't hard doing it all analog, without scanning, although if you want the picture to be big you need an enlarger. Have fun with film photography! Something about holding seeing your film in your hand is so magical.
@@obansrinathan exactly! I want to hold my negatives! I desire doing the full process. And the cost for lab development can be steep! I appreciate the tips:)

Guys don’t do this, send your film to lab and get it properly scanned. Keep that industry alive. If you do this you might as well just shoot digital. This only makes sense for old archival stuff but even then, you’re better off sending it to a lab. Good luck if you wanna get anything framed.
Why keep that industry alive when the process can be done in 15 minutes with an editing software… if technology has surpassed the need for it to where a consumer can do it themselves why do we need the industry? That’s like saying not to stream shows but to buy the BluRay DVDs to keep the industry alive lmao
@@azsazazsa I have since come to agree however, labs are still great and necessary for motion picture film, medium format film & large format. Additionally there are some techniques and development processes that are best left to proffesionals but ultimately I've come to agree with your point and I retract my full statement.
@@LYDLNX I agree that type of expertise is great for the record, I think the people with those skills should apply them in other fields to keep the art alive.

To do this, it really pays off to be precise with alignment, focus and exposure when taking a picture of the negatives, people 3D print or build out of cardboard small jigs to get everything right and get the most of their negatives.

I did something similar with a lot of old negatives from my grandparents. I think some of them were from the early 50's. It was interesting and gave me something to do during lockdown in 2020. After that I did send the pictures to everyone in the family and it kept us all close in certain way we couldn't because of social distancing.
For anyone who is confused, old cameras had negative roll stock back then, so we could take limited number of photos, later on we could take the negatives to a photographer , that could prepare them for us
