  • We are by no means representatives of penguin cold caps but we put these tips and tricks together to help people out that have to go through chemotherapy and you want to try to save your hair.
Also check out www.hairtostay.org They were awesome and helped subsidize part of the treatment. Thank you Hair to Stay!
We wanted to take the wisdom that God is giving us now and share it with others so that you may be blessed. "But that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory. For long hair is given to her as a covering. 1 Corinthians 11:15 God bless.

I cannot say thank you enough for this and your other cold capping video. My husband and I referred to it frequently before my first chemo. I’m also part of a cold capping group on Facebook. Your videos are frequently shared with people who are starting the process. I’m happy to say I finished my last chemo on May 31. I’ve kept most of my hair. It is not noticeable to anyone who doesn’t know. Thank you again!

That is so awesome. That was Renee's biggest fear is losing her hair and looking sick. That gave her the boost she needed. Congratulations for keeping your hair and finishing chemo!

Yes, as Scot said, the moment I found the pebble in my breast, that very moment and every conversation was first started with (am I going to lose my hair?) Vain or not I did not want to lose it. Get this, we always joked about how my hair was channeling Sammy Hagar if I didn't flat Iron it. And they say that it could come back either curly or straight. Well, I asked God for straight hair and I got it! Now I miss my curls! can you believe it!

Hi Scot- I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. When my wife was diagnosed we didn't have much time b/f chemo started, but she had heard about the cold caps and signed us up for an in-person training with a penguin rep. After the training my head was spinning, and I was pretty freaked out by the whole thing. A few days b/f our first infusion I watched your video and it really gave me confidence that I could actually do this! Your easy-manner and straight forward instructions/tips really put me at ease. 12 weeks later we still have hair!! Thanks again great stuff!!

This is an awesome video. I just did 8hrs of of replacing cold caps for my friend yesterday. We watched this video the day before and it took a lot of stress off of us. I applied the cold cap exactly the way you suggested it went smoother than expected. Thanks for this video it helped a lot.
    You guys are awesome.

Thank you so much for your tutorial Scot! My daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in February and went through 4 cycles of chemo. She did a lot of research on cold capping and decided on the Penguin brand of cold caps. The cost of renting the cold caps was pricey so I chose not to spend the extra money on the company’s online training. Your RUclips videos were so amazing and thorough that I felt I did not need any additional training and felt I was well prepared!! Thank you so much!! She is now 11 weeks post chemo with her beautiful hair intact! Aside from some minor thinning, her results were amazing and I owe it all to your awesome tutorial. I hope you and your girl are doing well. Thanks again!!

My friend is starting chemo on Monday and although I used these, I didn't put them on myself, so your video has given me the confidence to help my friend next week!

Btw the dry ice off gasses carbon dioxide (not carbon monoxide) which unless you fill the entire room with it to the point where there’s no remaining oxygen, is harmless.

Scott , 3 people this week have serious burns on their head from watching your video. PLEASE make the appropriate changes or delete the video . A Hair Net is NOT enough, although this may have worked for you , but not for all clients. The Penguin Caps will hurt each client if they do NOT follow their specific instructions. Please call me at 650-465-7397 if you have questions on the proper use .

From my memory we started about 30min to an hour before the infusion and then a certain amount of time afterwards. I cannot remember exactly but I feel like it was 4 hours after the infusion. It was a solid 6-7 hour event. You then repeat this for the next infusion. I would verify with the company and their instructions, it has been a few years. Good luck!

They worked great. She was able to keep all her hair. She finally was able to color it 6 months after chemo and the blonde that she usually does did not take so well since the chemo is not good on hair. She had to go dark for the first time in her life. It will take another 6 months to get back to blonde. With all that said she is still blessed to have kept her hair.

We did follow all the rules about using padding around the areas that have thin hair. If it was your whole scalp then your hair may have not been thick enough to use them... When people ask me about it and I see that they have thinner hair I let them know it probably is not for them. It states this in the Q&As. My nurse had told me it wouldn't work because she thought my hair was thin. (because I used to flat iron it all the time) I knew it was thick and unruly so I chose to do it anyway. We just covered my thinner hair around my face and it was totally fine.
