It seems to me like its gonna be a mix between meteora and a thousand suns. I love how they don't listen to the critics and do their own thing with each album which shows how versatile their music style is.
For me it doesn't matter if their music is Pop, Techno, Rock and all that kinds of music all the people sorting them in, for me their music is only Linkin Park and that means great. I know every album sounds different but I love all the albums because they're all great in their own special Linkin Park ways :D
Bands should never stay the same, they have to evolve and explore their musical abilities, I have no problem with them trying out different things. Happy to hear the heaviness returning though.
The language Mike Shinoda is talking is very limited.. Because the passion he and Chester see's cannot be described in words, only in feelings and emotional mindset what some of the fans probably would never understand.
Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time. I have been a fan of theirs since I was in middle school and every time I hear that they are coming out with a new record, I get so excited. Their new music may not be like Hybrid Theory or Meteora but I am thankful that they are still producing music. They are getting older and maturing so of course their music is going to change. I am sick and tired of hearing about how they are never going to be "the old Linkin Park." GET OVER IT! Listen to the lyrics, there is meaning in their music. Its not like the music on the radio and that is why I love Linkin Park!
Honestly.. When Mike was talking about a rapper with lyrical meanin, flows and technicality.. I instantly thought Eminem... i really would like to see this happen
make it 4! although ATS is my personal fav and having a tattoo for it I love what they do, what they've become, and what is in store for us REAL LP FANS in the future
Huge fan of Linkin Park. since Hybrid Theory In The End has always been one of my favorite songs. when meteora came out i was 8 and my mother bought me a copy and i would sit and stare at my mom old stereo and listen to it over and over. ever since then Linkin Park is undisputedly my favourite band. super exited to see this new album in Toronto. i wouldn't miss it for anything. good stuff guys. keep it up.
I don't know about you but I have been listening to a plethora if well written linkin park songs. Just cause they were softer doesn't mean they were not linkin park.
Quality song, always been a fan of rakim and linkin park. Followed linkin park from first album to current but Hybrid Theory I can listen to anytime and its feels like it the first I'm hearing it each time, never gets old, album is sick.
It really doesn't matter to me if they make an album in the style of living things or the style of hybrid theory. I love them both even and im so happy that they are making a new album
Some people just won't be satisfied unless Linkin Park completely go back to 2001 and just release another Hybrid Theory again (which, for the record, WOULD be them going "commercial")..... Yes, it was a classic and a very defined sound - but things change, artists grow and music evolves! I like the versatility. It keeps things interesting.... LP are always have a very powerful sound however they approach it, & I don't love them any less than I did back then. If you really cannot get on board with change, you're going to be eternally disappointed with LP. Just stick to your old Hybrid Theory CDs and give it up now!
I love it! And even better, he says with this album they feel like they had to vent anger and thoughts within the music..... This is what I like to hear!
in all honesty while Hybrid Theory and Meteora were my fav LP albums i also really loved Living Things because it was a mix of everything they've ever done, it wasn't back to the old Linkin Park days but you could hear bits and pieces of it while they still experimented. People keep saying they want old LP back but if they kept making Hybrid Theory 6 times over eventually people would get annoyed and stop listening and THAT would be selling out, going off and experimenting knowing that most people just want another Hybrid Theory is the complete opposite of selling out because selling out is trying to appeal to the masses and they knew people didn't want a new sound, they grew as artists and it's respectable
you know i never gave up on them, the music of the last few years has been good, not great but ive liked it all. That being said I am very glad to see them going back towards like Minutes of Midnight
Their collab with Steve was good since I'm also an EDM & House lover and seeing linkin park in EDM is a dream come true, but I still don't get it why "A Light that Never Comes" is consider LP music. I thought it was Steve's idea not LP, it should be Steve Ft Linkin Park.
Joe Bennett I wouldn't count on it though. These kind of channels often don't use other artists music on a video that is very particular about one song or one album. And I doubt that Linkin Park are just going to allow them to use their brand new songs as background, its probably unlicensed, royalty free music they got from some online sound library. Or perhaps a very unkown artist that gives his/her music away for free in order to obtain recognition.
The new song is amazing! I'm looking forward for the new album coming soon which will be the great one as always! But I'm really hoping they will have a tour in either Japan or somehow they come to Mauritius....
Honestly speaking, Rakim sounds alot like Mike when rapping. Tbh I thought it was Mike who was rapping the bridge. Mike should have chose Eminem for the bridge, that would've shocked people.
Wow. So not only was this album gonna sound like indie pop (I'll be honest, I'd like to hear that) but they full on dropped all that marital they worked on to make something that sounds NOTHING like that and make it work? HUGE respect for that. I can't think of many artists have that have the ability or patience to drastically change the sound and vibe of their album that much in the middle of its development. Does no one else see this? Or is everyone just focused on old vs new LP and if it will top hybrid theory or how ATS was super experimental. I mean if they can do that, I'd ALMOST be inclined to say their more creative than the Beatles, but I didn't write this to start that kind of flame war.
Hell yeah!!!! Can't stand the stuff they've put out the passed.. i don't know, 5 years. They are the band that got me into hardrock, but then they totally left that scene! It would be so nice to be able to enjoy and headbang to Linkin Park again!! I'm fucking stoked!
I love this song, it's really one of Linkin Park's best songs but i wouldn't say it sounds like Meteora or Hybrid Theory, just because it has har distortion guitars, dosen´t make it there old style, this is more some kind of metal or metalcore songichy song... Meteora was more somekind of mix between pop rock, and Nu-Metal... This is something new for Linkin Park and i like it allot, can´t wait for the new album!
I haven't actually listened to anything from the new album yet but it's on my to do list! :-p I was watching this and I was stunned for a second and I thought 'what! Chester is wearing glasses again - what the hell?!?!' He's really taking it back to the old skool days! :-D
Hey guys, I don't know if you've heard of me. I have been researching on Linkin Park for four years (I started on March 29, 2010). For any query you may have about the band - who they were, who they are, why they are, what they will be - just ask me.
B. Roman Well it has some kind of throwback - but it defiantly doesn't feel like a track that could had been on HT/Meteora. It has just the right amount of aggression and experimentation that we needed to make the divided LP fans come together and just for once enjoy the music, instead of labeling all they do as "techno", "pop", "OLD LP" or "Nu-metal". At least i hope it will
i love both styles that they have released, and yeah it's not HT but it doesn't sound like ATS either, or even MTM for that matter. it leans more towards the old style but one song isn't the entire album either so who knows
My opinion is that the song is about people that are trying to push their own agenda (i.e. - Tea Party people) for their own ends. First part of the song talks about them blaming other people for the problems in this country. That people should follow what they say and do what they do. But in reality, they have no shame... they are only pushing people to their own ends...for money and greed. This become extra clear with the rap verse... Really worrying about their own bank accounts and such...
But every album is a new concept. Not a lot of bands are willing to switch it up and every album linkin park does somethin different, and some people enjoy it, and some would rather have them shove those albums up their asscheeks. But personally, I'll always be an LP fan. Sure I prefer certain songs or styles to others, but in no way shape or form do I think they've ever sucked. Everyone had their own opinion and you can't hate anyone because of it. I'm happy to be gettin some new moosic this year. Mike needsa bust up that long overdue fort minor sequel tho. I've been wanting that for about foeffa and a half years now.
You know the rock radio station isn't even playing the Rakim part. They cut the song after that final guitar rift and it ends on the radio abruptly right before Rakim's part. Hmm... was that the decision of the record label???
didn't mike said something similar, or whoever it was, about how they got tired of waiting for "that" sound so they decided to do it themselves which resulted in HT. well this is just like that.
I think it's cool that they were able to collaborate with Rakim. The song, however, sounds like it would go best on a video game. I guess I'll see how the rest of the album turns out.
IMO, Guilty All the Same had potential they didn't tap into. The riffs were screaming Qwerty the second. When Chester went soft on all of his vocals, Brad's guitar, Rob's drumming, and Rakim's rapping were the only things that could save the song.
+Regulerd Gaming Rakim is a great rapper. One of the best of all time maybe the best. Unfortunately you get these people who know nothing but Eminem. And he is one of the best but there been better. Rake was the perfect choice for this track just based on his career and his conscious style
It seems to me like its gonna be a mix between meteora and a thousand suns. I love how they don't listen to the critics and do their own thing with each album which shows how versatile their music style is.
I agree my good sir
Johnathon Peterson It's more punk than anything on ATS.
yup.
It's more it's own thing
I’d say it’s more like MTM but heavier it does have taste of older stuff too
Very nice to read old comments, the ones before Chester death, there are many that testify he was loved also before his passing..
For me it doesn't matter if their music is Pop, Techno, Rock and all that kinds of music all the people sorting them in, for me their music is only Linkin Park and that means great.
I know every album sounds different but I love all the albums because they're all great in their own special Linkin Park ways :D
Totally agree !!
Thank you so much!!! I couldn't of said that any better myself!!! 🙌🙏👏💝💝💝💖💖💖
Welcome back. ❤️🇨🇦👺🙌🏼👏🏼
Well said💖💖💖💖💖💖
Bands should never stay the same, they have to evolve and explore their musical abilities, I have no problem with them trying out different things. Happy to hear the heaviness returning though.
This song is amazing, LP for life
Rakim, one of the greatest if not the greatest mc to ever do it, on a track with linkin park??? Heck Yea!

They can’t explain the reason of the songs with words
Because they are deep down in their heart ❤️ and ours as well . We get u man
The language Mike Shinoda is talking is very limited..
Because the passion he and Chester see's cannot be described in words, only in feelings and emotional mindset what some of the fans probably would never understand.
Its because of Linkin Park that I grew into Rock and have found the genre that speaks to me and puts me in the moment. Bless this band!!
I love how Mike is lowkey fangirling 😂❤️
Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time. I have been a fan of theirs since I was in middle school and every time I hear that they are coming out with a new record, I get so excited. Their new music may not be like Hybrid Theory or Meteora but I am thankful that they are still producing music. They are getting older and maturing so of course their music is going to change. Can't wait for the new album! This single is insane, this is gonna be great!

What to say? I love you Linkin Park.
Huge fan of Linkin Park. since Hybrid Theory In The End has always been one of my favorite songs. when meteora came out i was 8 and my mother bought me a copy and i would sit and stare at my mom old stereo and listen to it over and over. ever since then Linkin Park is undisputedly my favourite band. super exited to see this new album in Toronto. i wouldn't miss it for anything. good stuff guys. keep it up.
best lp song for years...heavy and old school lp style
Love you Chester!!!!!!!
Lp forever ❤️
GATS reminded me of old time and the best Linkin Park.... this album is gonna rock
Ra being back is a huge breakthrough no matter the genre, I felt like Mike when I saw him on this track. He is a legend.
The background songs could perfectly fit in the new album
They are BACK!!!!!!!!!!
They never left.
CyclonicTuna023 right?
CyclonicTuna023 To true.
CyclonicTuna023 Completely untrue lol. They've been gone for what? 5, 6 years?
I don't know about you but I have been listening to a plethora if well written linkin park songs. Just cause they were softer doesn't mean they were not linkin park.

love u guysss..........so much.....
their new song is AWESOME !! LOVE LP
I love it! And even better, he says with this album they feel like they had to vent anger and thoughts within the music..... This is what I like to hear!
I'm so happy that Mike said he likes Chvrches. Respect.
Whatever they do, it's fantastic. Love LP for-fucking-ever.

They're aging well, musically and anatomically.
gosh i saw you like 2-3 other linkin park videos are u hardcore fan of lp like me and yess they are aging fast and i hate it
Lol anatomically
Looking forward to their album
he doesn't really know what's the genre of this album! Genius!
This song will sound so sick live!
3:57
*HAHAHAHA GOTTA LOVE HIM*
Linkin park has vuelto!! :D
This is definitely my absolute favourite Linkin Park song of all time… Bananas Indeed.🤪🍌
Rakim is a rap *GOAT!* 🎙🔥🎶🐐
*R.I.P* Chester. 😢😭🙏
That's not enough emotes pal
I did freak when it came out. On the song's page, on RUclips, on my page, pretty much everywhere. I flipped. I love that track so so so much.
Great song. Loved it.
Linkin park is my best band ever.
you know i never gave up on them, the music of the last few years has been good, not great but ive liked it all. That being said I am very glad to see them going back towards like Minutes of Midnight
Good to see Linkin Park doing a collab with other artist while still keeping their style.
You need to listen to the Reanimation album. =]
Haha well I did( most fan should be )....yeah you r right but what I really mean is in their album(not remix one)
Their collab with Steve was good since I'm also an EDM & House lover and seeing linkin park in EDM is a dream come true, but I still don't get it why "A Light that Never Comes" is consider LP music. I thought it was Steve's idea not LP, it should be Steve Ft Linkin Park.
Finally sonething from LP that is worth listening. I missed the Meteora era
Exited for the new album its going to be awesome.
Linkin Park e a melhor banda Porra!!!!!!
Sounds like the background of the interview are their music? Am i wrong? i hope not!! Freaking awesome!
If the last background song isn't in the album i will be really dissapointed because its AWESOME
I think it is on the record, i just shazam'ed it like 4 times and it said 'Unrecognised' every time.
Joe Bennett Probably meaning the song is Unrecognizable....
It's not even a Linkin Park song wtf, why would it be on the album?
This song is just really, really, really GOOD!
The song reminds me of some songs from their underground albums e.g. 'Across the line'. Good to hear some guitar riffs again.
I love that they have returned to the same style as before
The new song is amazing!
Jay Z said in an interview in 2004 he saw that Mike was inspired by Rakim and Mike was flattered that Jay Z said he sounded like Rakim.
FUCK!!! That song is awesome!!!!
Mike is like Jared, how the fuck is he getting into his 40s and looking so cool still.
All music within reason abilities good for us Mike
The song is awesome.
Wow. So not only was this album gonna sound like indie pop (I'll be honest, I'd like to hear that) but they full on dropped all that marital they worked on to make something that sounds NOTHING like that and make it work? Mike said he listens to Haim :)
I haven't bought an LP album since Meteora but I'll buy this one.
this is not like hybrid, that said its beyond that its amazing.
I love this song, it's really one of Linkin Park's best songs but i wouldn't say it sounds like Meteora or Hybrid Theory, just because it has har distortion guitars, dosen´t make it there old style, this is more some kind of metal or metalcore songichy song... this is going to be great
I haven't actually listened to anything from the new album yet but it's on my to do list! :-p I was watching this and I was stunned for a second and I thought 'what! Chester is wearing glasses again - what the hell?!?!' He's really taking it back to the old skool days! :-D

Never heard of Rakim but mad about Linkin Park
Dying to hear the full track nooow!
well i just cant wait for this record to come out :DDD
Linkin Park X Twenty-one Pilots. I reckon their creative styles and technical abilities would just create something mad.
what is the song of the beginning?
Does anyone know what the song is in the intro?
So is this album gonna be a throwback to hybrid theory/meteora? Because that's wag at it sounds like and that makes me absolutely pumped
B. Roman
Well it has some kind of throwback - but it defiantly doesn't feel like a track that could had been on HT/Meteora.

michael jennette Kinda sounds like Living Things but with the Hybrid Theory aggression aspect of that album.
well, to me it seems like half of it is heavy sort of stuff and the other is the same stuff from the past 2 albums combined
yeah it seems like a more evolved sense of hybrid theory's angry stuff, but the second half of the album is similar to Living Things
nope the new lp is even god castle of glass ,a light that never comes waiting for the end all r good
Your sentence structure is amazing.
I'd like to know the meaning of the song.
Hmm... was that the decision of the record label???
i think that's the decision of the radio
didn't mike said something similar, or whoever it was, about how they got tired of waiting for "that" sound so they decided to do it themselves which resulted in HT. well this is just like that.
mike and chester :D
the songs slays :D i love it
I think it's cool that they were able to collaborate with Rakim. The song, however, sounds like it would go best on a video game. I guess I'll see how the rest of the album turns out.
And he's gone....so sad...
Well done lads
IMO, Guilty All the Same had potential they didn't tap into. The riffs were screaming Qwerty the second. When Chester went soft on all of his vocals, Brad's guitar, Rob's drumming, and Rakim's rapping were the only things that could save the song.
cant believe chester is almost 40, wow, and they started as teenagers
0:53, chester looks at the camera like "what do you think youre lookin at?"
get eminem for fuck's sake i've been waiting 10 years now
go to my channel you find my fanmade EP featuring eminem
Rakim is very good tho...
+Regulerd Gaming Rakim is a great rapper. One of the best of all time maybe the best. Unfortunately you get these people who know nothing but Eminem. And he is one of the best but there been better. Rake was the perfect choice for this track just based on his career and his conscious style
I'd love to see Eminem feature in LP's song/s someday. Really would love that :)
Let Chester talk!!!
Lo que tienen que hacer es venir a venezuela de una vez por todas
