Lack of housing security. Who wants to be homeless with children?

@Holidayhome-spain you are never homeless with children. You don't see young children or babies sleeping in door way of shops, factories or park benches. Bed and breakfast, accommodation is a roof over their head. Food banks, and food share provides them with food, including benefits. No mater how small it is. It maybe not ideal to be living n bed and breakfast
Or hostel, but real homelessness is sleeping rough under the stars, cold without any shelter at all.

Maybe people don't want to bring a child in the world where it's on the brink of world wars, corruption etc
Hell, even if that was not a fact, then the cost of living, childcare etc are the next issue.

There is also an increase in fertility problems. My daughter had 9 miscarriages and was 30 by the time she managed to get to full term, she does now have 2, her best friend had to have IVF and again is in her early 30s now and has recently had 2 children and my daughters sister in law had to have IVF and is now in her mid 30's and finally had a baby. I never heard this to this extent in my day.

Sure, I'll have 3 kids for you - if you make houses and a life affordable on a single full-time wage again. Until then, nope. You'll just have to revise the pension system otherwise. Or, y'know, maybe we could venture away from capitalism that is entirely dependant on endless growth for another economic system. But oh no, the millionaires and billionaires won't like that, will they?

Boomers enjoyed significantly more affordable living. Housing prices skyrocketed by 6,900%, while rents increased by 6,500%. Utility costs surged by 2,000-3,000%, and food prices rose by 1,100% (e.g., bread). Tuition fees, which only started in the late 1990s, have increased by 800% since their introduction. Job security was higher, with many benefiting from stable, long-term employment and generous pensions. Transport costs also rose, with fuel and fares increasing faster than wages.

Most just want guys that are nice & respectful & actually want relationships instead of messing around with multiple other girls on the go, but tuff chance of that these days or ever. You’d have more chance finding a needle in a haystack. That’s why most women just don’t bother anymore

Some people just seem to get it so easy, find someone straight away who also feels the same & that’s that. Other people just find it so hard & mission impossible. I think it’s best for anyone (male or female) to always mainly focus on being happy by themselves & get more confidence & self esteem without a partner as being desperate for someone only really leads to disappointment, as it does make you pick the wrong people. People pay in for their own pentions.. why are we acting like it's been paid by someone else.

    • @graceharrington4560
      @graceharrington4560 2 дня назад +1

People contribute to their pensions through taxes and National Insurance, however pensions are not like savings accounts where your contributions are stored away for your future. Instead, the money you pay now is used to fund current pensioners. This is called a 'pay-as-you-go' system, and it relies on a strong, working population to keep it running.
If there aren’t enough younger people in the workforce to pay taxes, the government can’t collect enough revenue to sustain public services like pensions, healthcare, and infrastructure. A shrinking labour force means less tax income, which could lead to higher taxes, reduced pension payouts, or cuts to other essential services.
Today's workers support today's pensioners, just as today's pensioners supported the generation before them when they were working. This is why a declining birth rate and workforce is a real problem.

  • @dirtytechie

I would happily have another child, if I could afford to live with my partner who looked after the second at home. Not have to pay childcare or was affordable.
Then if we want to upgrade to fit more children, we would need to move or buy a bigger house, which again, is not possible.
So you can say other countries are seeing this issue without child care costs as high as the UK, but it's not one simple change there are a multitude of changes that need to help.

The NHS maternity wards are FULL of women having babies! Some midwives are delivering nineteen babies a day, sometimes alone or with little assistance.
This explains issues with maternity care and why so many British midwives are emigrating.
Therefore there are babies being born in the UK, but where are they?
Stop treating women and mothers as second class citizens and APPRECIATE THE VALUE TO COST OF CARING FOR CHILDREN!
Stop moaning about childcare which the babyboomers never had and still had expenses mortgages and low wages and yes, so easy for men to tell women to have more children when it's not men who put their bodies through pregnancy and in the main the WOMEN are the childcare providers 24/7 but now told you can have it all providing someone on low pay ( usually women) ars caring for other people's children!
And blame the Labour government for the low birthrate! In the 60s and 70s, BRITISH WOMEN in low income households were told when they wanted to claim welfare for more than one child; to take the NEW HORMONE CONTRACEPTIVE PILL, or NO WELFARE! Utter disgrace to British women, used as tests for it! Can you imagine saying that to women now!

Well the life has got so busy that managing kids the busy lifestyle where company expect more of your time has become crazy. Also, instability in job also makes parents nerves to have kids. 1 help the government is to make day care totally free. The funding should be enough that the day care shouldn't charge the parents on top.

More to do with two generations told they can have it all! The world's their oyster. Be citizens of anywhere and contribute to nowhere!
Told they can have it all, but without the grandparents or should I say grandmothers( many Waspies and made to work to be make men from other countries more equal) or other people, usually WOMEN on very low pay looking after their children, they cannot have their careers and hobbies and freedom to have it all, to include having it all, in the gift of children 24/7!

Problem solved. We know how accomodating white English women are.

We know bed and breakfast is temporary, but they still have a roof over their head. They are not sleeping outdoors under the stars. Forever, as it lasts. That's the real homelessness. Children will always have a roof over their heads..so having a child will prevent sleeping on the streets. There shouldn't be homelessness for anyone, but not like the victoriana era where young children were o. The streets,, with their families or go into work house where families were separated
Having more children will not solve anything, just increase problems..

I think you also have to accept some women and men just do not want children!
I knew i did not want them form an early age, and i never did change my mind!
Kids do nothing for me whatsoever, i have NEVER got all maternal around babies, or ever had second thoughts on it!!
I love our 4 legged furry babies way more, and that is what gives me pleasure!
I was a single child adopted actually in a very unconventional way, to much to explain, and the social care lady came to my Mum and Dad in the fish shop they owned with a baby boy, asking if they would take it, and my Mum would have done, but my Dad stepped in and said no, we want to give our daughter everything, so she has no worries in later life, splitting it 2 ways was not their plan!!
I had a wonderful childhood, could not have asked for better parents, and they kept to their word, they saved and saved and planned, went without luxuries, very sensible with their money, all to leave me a very decent amount of money and their house, and mine, as mine was not put in my name when Dad purchased it for me, as did not want any bloke coming in taking half!!
Wise man my Dad, lost him years ago, and just lost my wonderful mum last year at the age of 94!
Not everyone is crazy about having kids, people need to accept that!
