Wrong. Ive closed off vents to rooms i wasn't using and kept the doors to that room closed also and cut my heating bill almost in half. Its common sense.
the switch is for partially closing the vents, but they shouldn't be used to completely block the air coming out (in fact good vents have a limit of how much they'll actually close)
I do question the logic expressed here. I think that if a system is designed to do one thing then closing vents could create issues, but intuitively less heating in the area with the thermostat would mean your furnace running for less time aka less energy bill. One questions why they design systems like this to begin with if its such an issue.
Foolish posters. Short term savings are real. Long term you are damaging the ducts and system. Do you never change the oil in your car because, duh, it still has oil in it?

Dumb question. Why do the vents have a switch to close them if we shouldn’t close them.
did you even watch the video lmao

SO DOES PARTIALLY CLOSING SAVE ON BILL?@@AndrewDaniele87
Does this also apply to bathroom? And what about air condition?
Research done by energy companies. Lol. Funny I closed my vents and now my bill is lower during the winter.
REALLY? HAS ANYONE ELSE HERE CHECKED TO SEE IF BILL IS REDUCED?
