(I had people stay with us who had rented a Tesla, it came with the charger, and we were able to plug it in to our solar system). I thought, “Hey, that’s pretty slick”. No charger, so we had to use the nearest supercharger near our home. It’s 20 minutes away. I knew to only charge to 80%, which showed 220 miles. Must have been a M3 standard range. But we would drive it 100 miles, and be down to 20%. We had the car for 4 days, and had to charge it 5 times. That really soured me on buying a used one. For sure I would never buy a used rental car. I realize it was just one experience, but it was enough to sour both myself and my wife on one.
im driving a Diesel car, and i live in Germany, i was watching like A LOT of Tesla owners videos, and i can say 100% that your video was better and show me real stuf what i wanted to know! Good job, and from now one im folowing you!
What’s crazier is if you compare the Maint costs to a gas car performance equivalent. Considering your Tesla performs like a high performance sports car.
Be ready for that 700+ registration fee every year. In Vegas. Insurance can actually help lower your rate if you go with the Tesla insurance if you really take the time to improve your driving score. I have full coverage for 100 bucks, where the minimum for the same coverage at other companies were $262 If you get the tax credit, a long range model 3 still comes out to be over 40k because of taxes. There’s also a Tesla registration fee. If you want the long range base model 3 you should expect to pay 42-45k
I genuinely don’t understand peoples uproar about depreciation values, every car depreciates, some faster than others, but if you basically plan on keeping a car until the wheels fall off, that shouldn’t really matter. Isn’t the point of financing/owning a tesla is the longevity of it?
They only depreciate more cause the price of new ones have dropped so much. Not good for old owners, but great for new buyers. But people need a reason to bate
It matters because most people don't keep their car forever. They want use their current car to make a down payment for their next car. In that regard, Toyota / lexus is king.
That was an excellent comparison to an Escalade. I can beat every one of your numbers with my Camry hybrid. And it cost's 30% less to acquire. This is the first Tesla I've seen go that many miles on a tire. And since I live in an apartment I can fill up at any gas station in less then 5 minutes.
We have a Rav4 hybrid and a Y Performance. I don't look forward to driving my hybrid. I never get tired of the Tesla. Take my daughter to softball games like a family car and dust Camaros at the stop light if need be. I literally trickle charge, level 1, every night and I maintain a 200 mile or greater daily.
Really? Because you live in an apartment you can fill up at any gas station in less than 5 minutes? Please, take a video and post it here for us! I want to see you with a stopwatch, you get in your car at your apartment, and then go fill up at any gas station and do it all in less than 5 minutes. Of course 'fill up' should mean at least, what, 12 gallons? Normally I would say to keep the stopwatch running until you get back home, but I will give you that time. Answer back here with a link to the video for us please. Oh, and if you don't mind showing the price per gallon too that would be great!
A Corolla is more comparable in terms of size with the model 3, mpg combined is of 35 and 50 when hybrid. At 35 the gas cost is around $5.5k At 50, gas is $3.8k So much closer in price, but still a corolla is easy sub $25k
Are you able to use any type of tires on the Tesla? The ones I have on my gas vehicle is the average tire but they can do 64,000 mi so they are little thicker.
Yeah! There’s some tires that brand themselves as EV tires but any tire that’s the right size will work. People like to say that teslas are heavier and require special tires. They’re heavier than the average car sure, but there’s a lot of gas vehicles heavier than teslas too.
@vegasteslafamily yeah that is true, I am thinking about getting a Tesla for my second vehicle next year I've noticed the model 3 are really at a good price for the used ones they are only a couple years old
Very informative. My next car will be a Tesla. But I think it is important to include the depreciation cost. I don't understand why Teslas depreciate so much, considering they feel like new for do long. But it is important to present the facts. Anyway, cool video. Good luck with the channel 👍
@@opinionator3884 Exactly. You beat to it sir, prices for new models going down and tax credit is huge for a new buyer. Also, batteries life shortening may be a concern for new customers, and we don't have data for 10+yo cars yet.
They don’t depreciate that much. The previous year Tesla’s were simply overpriced and so the market adjusted. A Model 3 in 2022 was like $55k out the door for a car that was worth $35k at best (based on comparable gas counterparts). So you would have paid $20k of brand premium which has zero value given Tesla caters to the mass market rather than an exclusive club.
The only reason why they depreciate a little more is only because Tesla is continuing to offer a better car for cheaper. The prices have come down over time which then brings down the used market with it. That being said for the M3 and Y those haven't seen as much of a drop off as the S and X's did.
Nice video. I really thought you had an ICE vehicle you're comparing the cost to. People like to brag about EV's costing less, but that saving comes in the short term. My question to all EV owners would be, how does that cost compare after 10 to 15 yrs. of ownership. (Both mileage and time considered) We own a 07 Toyota Camry XLE w/165K plus miles and a 01 Dodge Grand Caravan EX w/349K plus miles. Our Camry gets 29 to 34 MPG and our DGC gets 17 to 23 MPG. I do all of my own maintenance, so we save a lot of money. With basic yearly maintenance, here is a cost breakdown for both vehicles. 01 DGC EX: 1) Oil/filter change - every 10K using fully synthetic motor oil and filter (2 per year) - $108 2) Wipers (3) - $90 3) Air filter - $8 4) Cabin Filter - $14 5) Tire Rotation - Free 6) Insurance (Comprehensive Coverage) - $726 7) Windshield Washer Fluid (3 gal.) - $12 8) Car payment - $0 Total yearly cost - $958 07 TC XLE 1) Oil/filter change - every 5K using fully synthetic motor oil and filter (1 per year) - $35 2) Wipers (2) - $60 3) Air filter - $10 4) Cabin Filter - $12 5) Tire Rotation - Free 6) Insurance (Full Coverage) - $2,528 7) Car payment - $0 Total yearly cost - $2645 Fuel for both vehicles in 2023 was $4,105 and in 2024 is $3,250. No to be far, I didn't include Trans. fluid and filter change, coolant, power steering and brake fluid flush. These are not done every year, but at a higher mileage. Also, not included are the things that break or wear out. (Alternator, battery, hoses, sensors, etc) These come with age at a higher mileage
The general public just doesn't get it and I roll my eyes when I see neighbors buying their Hondas and Toyotas. I did a Return on Investment calculation of purchasing a Tesla Model 3 vs a regular car and it was/is a no brainer. I calculate $150 a month in savings. So it's about $7,350 savings for me over the lifetime of my car, so far. Smart people will understand.
I will add this. It saves money but the car is super, super FUN to drive if you want to let it roll on occasion. 90% of the cars out there are slow in comparison.
@@JDMSwervo2001 I've got 2 old Toyotas while they are the best of the ICE cars, undeniably Tesla shits all over them when it comes to servicing, cost of fuel/electricity, safety and acceleration. The new Toyotas are not as reliable as they used to be either, they have almost stopped innovation the technology feels very dated. I speak from experience driving both new Tesla's and Toyotas at my workplace.
This is a great comparison and I will still stick to gas. Not saying that I hate electric cars, in fact I love them. The problem is where I live I do not have access to be able to charge at home. Therefore I will have to rely on the supercharging network/public chargers out there. In your comparison supercharging was a lot more expensive than charging at home, which is great for those who can charge at home. Not so great for those who can't. Our hybrid lasts us two months before needing to go back to the gas station to refill. I don't get the hate between gas and electric, both cars are different and suit people depending on their needs. In my case electric would be worse since I cannot charge at home. Great video!
Great vid. I have a quick question: Does the 'total spent' shown on the Tesla app account for charging inefficiency? For example, if I have a 10 kWh battery and it takes 12 kWh of electricity to charge fully (because even wired charging comes with some inefficiency) , is the 'total spent' reflecting the 10 kWh used by the battery or the full 12 kWh consumed during charging? I paying 12 kWh worth of electricity to my electricity provider.
Fun fact, supercharging in my state is as much as 4x the cost of home charging for me. But when i was in Canada, the super charging cost was less than 2x the cost of home charging 😢
The other thing that Tesla gave you was proof of your car being hit. I had a similar issue, returning to my 2 month old M3 RWD and finding the front bumper badly damaged. The offender had driven off and now witnesses. Reviewing the video showed the whole event. So no cost to me and I had a Tesla as a replacement car. Had it been another car it would not have saved me. I would have lost no claims, paid for repairs via the excesses and not had a replacement car. Good savings for you and I am saving a fortune on fuel in the UK, it is roughly 10% the cost of buying fuel.
I called around today for insurance quotes on a Tesla. Nail in the coffin for me not getting one. $466/mo for insurance. No tickets. A single accident and i was not at fault. Seems very wild.
To be fair last year I bought a gas car and in the first 2 months the value dropped 4000 dollars and not is wort 10,000 less. All cars lose value quickly
If people can get the price you bought it at, that's how much it's depreciated from and you would have to get a few quotes and look at private sell prices. Tesla trade-in would be the worst deal.
@@andrewgauthier-qo5lqsure all cars depreciate, but he said his car depreciated by $20K in 3 months. That’s almost half the value of what he paid for it in less than a year.

Thanks for sharing. I followed the exact prompt you used to ask ChatGPT for maintenance costs after 52 K, but I got only between $1200 and $1600. I even added Las Vegas, where you said you are, and got a bit higher range, $1500 and $2000, but still very low compared to your range.
Great job detailing the estimates for your costs. Missing the biggest factor in depreciation. Second biggest factor is what’s the car comparison? A nice Toyota or Honda sedan is not going to cost almost 50K like dual motor model 3. It will also not lose 50% of the value by year 3 of ownership. assuming $3.50 per gallon.
Cost breakdown sounds reasonable, it is possible could save a bit doing your own maintenance. But then there is the hassle of doing that. Having an EV you don't worry about putting high milage on them because the cost to charge is so cheap. My next car will be a Tesla for sure.
How much did you pay for model y 2024 and is it long range AWD or RWD or performance? And what do you mean zero bills? Also, is your insurance Geico or tesla insurance? I'm thinking of either buying new tesla model y or used one. Much appreciated
Thanks for putting this together. I am looking to potentially take the ev plunge, BUT this is a bad comparison. The numbers chatgpt gave you include ALL gas vehicles instead of just NEW ones like your tesla. I've bought nothing but new cars over the past 2 decades, and none of them have cost me anywhere near 500 in their first 60K miles (total). They've all come with free oil changes, maintenance, etc. for the first 3 years, too. Gas is also highly variable - the west and east coasts tend to be more expensive, while the Midwest and South are much cheaper - it just hit $2.80 /gallon in my area.
That’s fair - for simplicity sake for a RUclips video, I don’t know a better way to pull general numbers. My previous gas car cost me about $2k in maintenance at that point
I totally disregard the Tesla msm haters, everything is politics and only their politics or they torch you. Tesla costs me 20% of my previous ice vehicles. Absolutely no problems.
I think one thing to add is the Tesla factory is in Austin Texas, in the US. As of today, its the only one thats fully in the US, no unions, and their warranty is better than most ICE cars ive seen. Their Software stack is 10x way more advanced than any other car at the moment. They have FSD years beyond any car manufacturer. Over the air updates. not like ford where you gotta bring it in. additionally, youre getting the safety. meaning it will not rollover since the battery is underneath. additionally, the supercharger network. Name 1 other car manufacturer that has a supercharger network? and honestly, im tired of car dealerships price gauging me and haggling me, id rather just get it online. So I think youre no doubt getting a great vehicle as of today, but that could eventually change once others catchup. Lets see who can catch up.
I don't understand how it compares it with gas if I got a model 3 performance and I'm doing supercar numbers then what in a gas equivalent get 10 mi per gallon or less?
Great video! What is your at home electricity rate plan for charging? Mine is .11 cents per kWh. We don’t have off peak hours option. Wondering if that would affect prices greatly or not.
Good video. But I think comparison should've been to a comparable vehicle not average cost. I probably would've used a BMW 3 series as it is comparable in price and size. Just my thought.
I wonder what if any savings would be in California with electricity being outrageously overpriced. A hybrid would probably cost less to own. But I don't know since I haven't calculated it.
The thing is that Tesla is not cheap in EU , you can get a very good and twice as cheap if not 3 times cheaper car. So comparing Gas vs Charging, is wrong. I can get a brand new car for 20k vs tesla that costs 50k here and i would save 30k right away.
I always see comments about registration fees, I have a model Y and in Canada it’s $120 a year or $86 usd. Is registration in USA really as high as I have heard?
Is registration in the US / Canada similar to road tax in the UK which we pay annually? My Infinity EX30 was £600 per year and my Tesla is £0. (Free for EVs but that going to change in April 25, we will all pay £190 pa). On the subject of insurance mine went from £500 to £980 for the Tesla 3, that said the value is £25k to insure based on 8k annual miles vs £2k value and same miles. Tesla insurance in the UK is a joke, nobody uses them eg for my age group it’s £2700 pa… 😢
Good ideal estimates , but not perfect. you asked chat GPT for ICE car, tesla also you can do the same ask chat GPT and show that comparison. hope you will put similar video after your model y collision expenses, also when you replace the battery ;) .. in long term both will be kind of similar when you take all in to consideration. i support Electric vehicle but don't try to convince they save money at current timeline .

Which app? On the Tesla website you can calculate the savings by inputting your own gas price and electricity costs so you get a true representation of the savings. My savings usually seem to be around $1000 per year
Yeah, but any savings from charging is lost due to how expensive tesla insurance costs. Tesla insurance on average is 2-3x more expensive than the average car and even luxury sports cars. So sure, you might save $100 every month in gas, but you're paying double that in insurance costs
Wow, that’s 166 miles per day x 7 days per week. The average driver does 8000 miles per year or 166 miles per week.. The sooner FSD is perfected the better, then you could at least get some sleep whilst at the wheel 😅. Drive safe bro!
I think your insurance is off somewhat. There are too many factors to trust to an AI answer. I better test would be to run through one of the big insurers online quote systems for something like a tricked out Camry XSE using your zip code or address. Take my coverage from Progressive, on my 2020 MB GLC300 I pay $55 a month, on my 2023 MY I pay $91. I have been driving a long time and have never seen a disparity like this until I got the Tesla.
The majority of your Chat GPT maintenance costs included tires ($1k) and brake pads ($800), which you said you didn't pay for your Tesla because they look ok still. That's not an apples to apples comparison.
Righttttt!!! A Tesla sticker price in 2022 55,000 US dollar VS a Toyota Camry $25,000 US dollars that my friend = a saving of $30,000 US dollars so your way of seeing things is just LAUGHABLE!!!
Are you smoking meth? To get an equivalent RAV4 you’d need to spend at least 45-50k with dealer markups. A 2024 Tesla model 3, so the latest with all the tech and arguably higher cost compared to a 2022, is around $34k after the federal tax credit. Besides the fact that the U.S. has been subsidizing oil companies and gasoline for more than a century, I’m more than happy to have them subsidize a better future with electric vehicles. @@vegasteslafamily Isn't it misleading to say that new tesla models don't depreciate as much? Not enough time has passed to be able to confidently say that depreciation won't be an issue with newer models.
The average depreciation on most cars, ICE or EVs at 3 years and under 40k miles is 50% but 75% for EVs costing 100k plus when new. And there is the problem EVs cost nearly double that of an equivalent ICE car but what car under 200k can do 0-62 mph from a standing start in u see 3 seconds…. @vegasteslafamily good point 3 minutes to gas up compare to 30 minutes sitting in a parking lot to charge up 60% genius no wonder tesla is dead at the the end you still need power from a power plant, don't even have a spare tire witch is awesome in case of an emergency. 🤣🤣🤣

Also have to factor cost to acquire the vehicle, your maint numbers are hog shit. Besides oil changes should be the same maintenance if you are starting fresh from 0 miles. New cars don't start tearing up pads, transmission fluid, etc at 50k. The insurance bit maybe be specific where you live, I know Tesla owners in Colorado and Texas and that premium is pricey. Also the cost to setup your home to charge and the time lost in waiting to charge vs a 5-min fill up at the gas station. (this is removing outliers when both gas stations and EV stations are overloaded).

The rav4 sport we used as a daily pulled 25mpg and this car was cheaper to buy than the rav initial cost .. plus it paid for the level 2 home charger in 3 weeks saving gas over driving our rav so And no from my experience they are not “super expensive to insure”
You can't balance your tyres (yes I can spell tyres unlike Americans) without a wheel balancing machine ? Original tyres, really ? I thought Tesla fit Michelin but your car has Continental ? Here in the UK a model 3 costs about £83.33 a month where as my old EV I had from July 2022 to June 2024 cost £30.17. My ice car costs £17.83 a month so £65.5 a month cheaper than a Tesla. Comparing a model 3 to my Golf 1.5 ice car in the UK to do 50,000 miles electricity would cost me £5428 (30k miles charge at home and 20k miles on Tesla chargers) my ice car fuel would be £6356 plus £1000 in servicing so £7356. The insurance for the model 3 would be £3000 compared to my car at £642. Total cost for the Tesla £8428 and £7998 for my ice car. My ice car would need a set of tyres so about £400 making the 2 cars similar to run. If I estimated 20k Tesla charging that would have taken 38 hours plus home charging at 7kw taking 1225 hours so a total of 21 days. Refueling my car would have taken less than 5 hours total plus 6 hours service time. Also my ice car will have depreciated 35% compared to a model 3 at 50% here in the UK over 3 years. The Tesla is more to buy as well at £39,990 standard range, £49,990 long range and £59,990 performance. My ice car is £27,785 and will do 450 miles on 1 tank of fuel year round. Electric cars do not work for everyone and not all the calculations used stack up.
Have you ever had to take your car into the service center for issues? My Model 3 is less then a year old and I have an appointment to have them look at a knocking noise when I back up with the wheels turned. Tesla told me they charge $250 an hour for labor but not sure if that is waved since I'm in the warranty period. Do you know anything about this?
An update, I just met with Tesla service and they said it's covered under warranty so labor is covered. He also gave me a good tip, if you have seen issues in service mode they won't do anything unless it's on the main screen but just don't put on the service request that you looked at service mode and just report a likely symptom instead.
My appointment is in a couple weeks, probably minor stuff but they are giving me a loaner and said any issue will be covered. Noise issue when im in reverse and a note in service mode about a blower has to reset that is probably nothing.

This is the one comment I agree on. I came from a model y then trafed it in for a camry hybrid a year after. True cost of charging in CA is 44 mpg. A camry easily gets 50 mpg and has a range of 650 miles where tesla has a 290. Dont get me wrong I am a tesla investor myself. When it comes to built quality tesla is above a camry by far. Theres just one thing I’m worried about a tesla and that is the battery degradation and resale when it drops to a certain point. And it is not cheap to replace one as of the moment
Interesting, I had a 2018 honda accord 1.5t touring. I bought it for 23k and spent $800 on maintenance. Gas was $4285 on the high end considering i got 35mpg and i always put premium at $3.50 in VA. Haha! Road trips!
My model 3 has 11k miles in 6 months. I’ve done so many long road trips 😂 great car.

Be ready for that 700+ registration fee every year.
In Vegas. Insurance can actually help lower your rate if you go with the Tesla insurance if you really take the time to improve your driving score. I have full coverage for 100 bucks, where the minimum for the same coverage at other companies were $262
If you get the tax credit, a long range model 3 still comes out to be over 40k because of taxes. There’s also a Tesla registration fee.
If you want the long range base model 3 you should expect to pay 42-45k
Haha oh we know!
No biggie
No 700 registration fee here in Florida
I genuinely don’t understand peoples uproar about depreciation values, every car depreciates, some faster than others, but if you basically plan on keeping a car until the wheels fall off, that shouldn’t really matter. Isn’t the point of financing/owning a tesla is the longevity of it?
They only depreciate more cause the price of new ones have dropped so much. Not good for old owners, but great for new buyers. But people need a reason to bate
It matters because most people don't keep their car forever. They want use their current car to make a down payment for their next car. In that regard, Toyota / lexus is king.
Nice video. Are you planning to do one at 100k? I am curious to see that when it happens. It might get a lot of views.
Yes! If I keep it till then 🤫
That was an excellent comparison to an Escalade. I can beat every one of your numbers with my Camry hybrid. And it cost's 30% less to acquire. This is the first Tesla I've seen go that many miles on a tire. And since I live in an apartment I can fill up at any gas station in less then 5 minutes.
It’s also a Camry hybrid. And that’s 5 minutes more than it takes me to plug in every day!
Glad to see your subs above 5K Fam! Let’s go to 10K!! 🎉

A Corolla is more comparable in terms of size with the model 3, mpg combined is of 35 and 50 when hybrid. At 35 the gas cost is around $5.5k
At 50, gas is $3.8k
So much closer in price, but still a corolla is easy sub $25k

@@vegasteslafamily but a tesla is more fun, I get you that 😁
Are you able to use any type of tires on the Tesla?
Good point. A big part of the depreciation is likely due to the cost of new Teslas coming down so much. When you can buy a new M3 Long Range for
@@opinionator3884 Exactly. You beat to it sir, prices for new models going down and tax credit is huge for a new buyer.
Also, batteries life shortening may be a concern for new customers, and we don't have data for 10+yo cars yet.
Mentioned already, but the reason for depreciation is cause of the new prices. Great for new buyers, not so much for current owners
(Both mileage and time considered)
We own a 07 Toyota Camry XLE w/165K plus miles and a 01 Dodge Grand Caravan EX w/349K plus miles. Our Camry gets 29 to 34 MPG and our DGC gets 17 to 23 MPG.

4) Cabin Filter - $14
5) Tire Rotation - Free
6) Insurance (Comprehensive Coverage) - $726
7) Windshield Washer Fluid (3 gal.) - $12
8) Car payment - $0
Total yearly cost - $958

1) Oil/filter change - every 5K using fully synthetic motor oil and filter (1 per year) - $35
2) Wipers (2) - $60
3) Air filter - $10
4) Cabin Filter - $12

No to be far, I didn't include Trans. fluid and filter change, coolant, power steering and brake fluid flush. These are not done every year, but at a higher mileage. Also, not included are the things that break or wear out. (Alternator, battery, hoses, sensors, etc) These come with age at a higher mileage

Yes I believe so any shop
The general public just doesn't get it and I roll my eyes when I see neighbors buying their Hondas and Toyotas. I did a Return on Investment calculation of purchasing a Tesla Model 3 vs a regular car and it was/is a no brainer. I calculate $150 a month in savings. So it's about $7,350 savings for me over the lifetime of my car, so far. Smart people will understand.
I will add this. It saves money but the car is super, super FUN to drive if you want to let it roll on occasion. 90% of the cars out there are slow in comparison.

This is fair. The comparison changes a lot when you can’t charge at home obviously. Takes a whole lot of the convenience out of it. To each their own!
Hmm I’m not sure to be honest, good question.
Fun fact, supercharging in my state is as much as 4x the cost of home charging for me. But when i was in Canada, the super charging cost was less than 2x the cost of home charging 😢
Yeah it can be pricey, especially in California. Still cheaper than gas, but not by much nowadays.
You suggested don't use Tesla insurance. What insurance are you using? TIA
Unfortunately, until we get our deductible back, still tesla insurance
The other thing that Tesla gave you was proof of your car being hit. I had a similar issue, returning to my 2 month old M3 RWD and finding the front bumper badly damaged. The offender had driven off and now witnesses. Reviewing the video showed the whole event. So no cost to me and I had a Tesla as a replacement car. Had it been another car it would not have saved me. I would have lost no claims, paid for repairs via the excesses and not had a replacement car.
Newer Tesla’s don’t depreciate nearly as much! Old ones do only because the price of the newer ones has come down so much
Great write off of depreciation for businesses
Then buy a 3 year Tesla at 50% off. You need to compare one sports EV to another EV.
Do you not consider the amortization of the cost of the car? Cause the initial price is more significant that most gas powered cars.
Model 3 and Y are cheaper than the average sedan/SUV tofay
Cost breakdown sounds reasonable, it is possible could save a bit doing your own maintenance. But then there is the hassle of doing that. Having an EV you don't worry about putting high milage on them because the cost to charge is so cheap. My next car will be a Tesla for sure.

Thanks for putting this together. I am looking to potentially take the ev plunge, BUT this is a bad comparison. I asked chat gpt how much tesla owners Lost in total .Chat GPT replied we don't talking about it.
Well I mean crap gpt is a credible source
I think now that Tesla purchase prices have come down to comparable to ICE cars it's not that big of a factor. Maybe also look at how long the two types of cars lifetimes will last too
Nice!
gas mpg would depend on the car though.
This is true
are you factoring in the 50-60% loss in resale value
No - new teslas today don’t have that
@@vegasteslafamily Isn't it misleading to say that new tesla models don't depreciate as much? Not enough time has passed to be able to confidently say that depreciation won't be an issue with newer models.
@@vegasteslafamily wrong all teslas have that even cyber trucks...
I plan to drive my car for at least 6 years or more then pass it down, by that time the depreciation isn't much different.
Comparisons need to include performance in all areas.
Buddy you didn't calculate how much time you loose charging remember time is money!
Good point! I save a lot of time by plugging into my garage every night, never having been to a gas station in over 2 years
@vegasteslafamily good point 3 minutes to gas up compare to 30 minutes sitting in a parking lot to charge up 60% genius no wonder tesla is dead at the the end you still need power from a power plant, don't even have a spare tire witch is awesome in case of an emergency. 🤣🤣🤣
@@quevedo210 imagine having a gas station in your garage
Insurance cost is double and eats up any perceived savings.
Also when you do a claim dont you have to wait longer for repair parts from tesla compared to an ICE car
@@soliniv1411 totally, and your insurance only pays for a rental for a short period. What is the acronym "ICE"??

@@Trust_but_Verify I should have seen that. Thanks!
2nd and I hate Arianna Grande 😂j/k
THIS is the comparison people want to know about when thinking of Tesla
Haha! Agree!
@@agjr85 I love when I show numbers and people tell me I’m wrong lol. It takes me 3 second to put in at home. I don’t sit there and wait for it to charge. I sleep.
You already paid for the difference by paying so much for a car
Sure!
For people who don’t know Buy one they are cheaper than you think. Bought my 2018 lr model 3 for 15k with 106k miles on it.. we do over 1000miles a week on a vehicle for work and errands.. and have put over 5k on it in a month.. hands down one of the best cars I have had yet. The rav4 sport we used as a daily pulled 25mpg and this car was cheaper to buy than the rav initial cost .. plus it paid for the level 2 home charger in 3 weeks saving gas over driving our rav so
And no from my experience they are not “super expensive to insure”
Some people just don’t understand
First and btw I love Ariana Grande
Did I include an Ariana grande reference unintentionally? Lol
Buddy, just woke up and started making video. But pretty cool
What do you mean??
I think they switched tires shortly after I made my purchase on this
@@vegasteslafamily Impressive then
Have you ever had to take your car into the service center for issues? My Model 3 is less then a year old and I have an appointment to have them look at a knocking noise when I back up with the wheels turned. Tesla told me they charge $250 an hour for labor but not sure if that is waved since I'm in the warranty period. Do you know anything about this?
Fortunately we have not had any issues like that - sorry!
You can check with them to double confirm but it should be waived.
An update, I just met with Tesla service and they said it's covered under warranty so labor is covered. He also gave me a good tip, if you have seen issues in service mode they won't do anything unless it's on the main screen but just don't put on the service request that you looked at service mode and just report a likely symptom instead.
@@dbarn5324 What was the issue and how was it fixed?
My appointment is in a couple weeks, probably minor stuff but they are giving me a loaner and said any issue will be covered. Noise issue when im in reverse and a note in service mode about a blower has to reset that is probably nothing.
Lol, wheres your monthly payments 😂 😂, compare it with Corolla

Think a Tesla is cheap to run? A Camry Hybrid might actually save you even more if you consider reliability, longevity and resale value.
Tesla’s reliability and longevity are unmatched!
@@vegasteslafamilymy 47k 2024 model 3 Awd LR might only be worth 25k next year
@@vegasteslafamilynah bro Camry and Honda are better in the longrun
This is the one comment I agree on. I came from a model y then trafed it in for a camry hybrid a year after. True cost of charging in CA is 44 mpg. A camry easily gets 50 mpg and has a range of 650 miles where tesla has a 290.
Dont get me wrong I am a tesla investor myself. When it comes to built quality tesla is above a camry by far. Theres just one thing I’m worried about a tesla and that is the battery degradation and resale when it drops to a certain point. And it is not cheap to replace one as of the moment
Biggest myth tesla not cheap also biggest myth Tesla is not a luxury vehicle
Don’t waste your time on this stupid comparison. What was the mpg of that gas car and what was the price of the fuel per gallon. How much per kWh?
25 mpg. Showed everything else
Interesting, I had a 2018 honda accord 1.5t touring. I bought it for 23k and spent $800 on maintenance. Gas was $4285 on the high end considering i got 35mpg and i always put premium at $3.50 in VA. And my friend has a model y and the concensus amongst 20 people was that the accord was more comfortable and better to be in.
But it's whatever because I sold it for a S2000 because nothing beats a s2000
Haha to each their own!
Many tesla owners I know drives like they’re walking on egg shells. Very self conscious individuals…
Interesting
You still need to count the depreciation. EVs depreciate faster.
Not nowadays
That's not an out of pocket cost lmao
There is a video of someone trying to get out of his GMC hummer EV after one year. He lost $30,000 in depreciation and he still owes something like $150,000 on it.
Depreciation does kill any cars value, doesn’t matter what brand.

Good to see you are saving all that money because after another 50K miles and another $4,649 in savings you still gonna be about $6,000 dollars short of what is going to cost you to replace your EV battery. Is well documented that after 100k miles they start to burn 🔥 out. But hey NICE TRY 😂😂😂
