Love my new machine! I bought it on line at the Bed Bath & Beyond Store and they used my 20% off coupon so I saved $80!!! The machine came with 16 capsules too and I ordered capsules through BB&B for a fraction of a price with free shipping!
I've just purchased this machine, it is very good. But somehow, I think the milk/coffee proportion is slightly off. I've read that factory settings for Cappuccino is set at 40mL Espresso, 50mL milk ... Can some expert please tell me what's the best setting for a cup of cappuccino ? How many mL Espresso, and how many mL of milk ? What should the froth setting be? Minimum ? Maximum ? Or somewhere in between ? Towards min/max ? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hello, I have a question. When you make espresso in a small espresso glass on a metal grill, do you find the glass slides across the grill when the machine is working due to its vibration? Thankfully, the glass stops at the edge of the grill and coffee doesn't spill, but I get nervous to leave it working unattended.
But since I have no way of finding out how much of the milk is actually steamed milk, and foam, how should I do it ? Also, isn't the capsules good only for 40mL of Espresso shots ? I'm trying to get 60mL espresso shots out of it, but it tasted like watered down Espresso ... My only complain is that the steamed milk did came out to be room temperature, as soon as the cappuccino came out of the machine, I could drink the whole cup within 2 seconds. Is this how it is supposed to be ?
Hi Brian, Thanks for your great videos! I have this question: For cappuccinos, Sould i buy a Lattissima plus or a U + aeroccino 3????? I really like both and tending toward the lattissima automatic system. But i'm scared about the issue of cold milk in the lattissima. Is it true?
Hi Brian, quick question about the Lattissima. Like the user pinklady I'm in between the Lattissima and the Krups Nespresso Citiz Aeroccino. My question is if I can make a double shot cappuccino with Lattissima and also, between the two machines, wich would you recommend? I've also been reading mixed reviews and comments about them. Thanks for the video
Hey brian! Does this machine warm up the entire milk tank? Can i use whole milk and fill it to the top and when im done using it can i just put the milk tank in the fridge?
At exactly 11:17 I noticed that the milk almost got thrown out of the cup... Does it do it all the time? I mean... for peoples that don't know, or don't care about drinking in the "wrong" cup will have problems it this overthrown milk? Thanks Perfect Video by the Way!
Bonjour, je viens d’en recevoir une d’occasion mais on me dit qu’elle a une petite fuite et qu’il manque du coup quelque cl dans une tasse. Quel joins dois-je changer ?
I have one and I love it! Use it every day and have had no problems with it. I mostly have macchiatos and lattes and love that I don't need a separate frother anymore 😀
Thanks, Brian. Your video was very informative and because of your video I bought one today! I really like the size of this machine and I really love the idea that I can make a latte or a cappuccino at home anytime. Thanks again!!! Love this machine.
I have one of these... I just push a button in the morning and leave the room to go do my makeup. It's super fast and EASY... I come back and my coffee is in my mug and ready to go with me to work ~ can't get any easier!
The milk container on the + is not new to Nespresso on this machine, the two previous generations of Lattissima's both had a milk container like this one.
If you allow the starbucks machine then you should add Keurig Vue because it also offers cappuccino with two pods. Frothed powdered milk followed by espresso roast strong and you can do tea, hot chocolates, ciders and 4 - 16 oz. I love my vue but have just purchased the rivo because no comparison real vs. Powdered milk. Costs dip consistently as you buy direct from keurig 10% to begin with then 15%. So really the starbucks is ridiculously priced vue substitute. The vue cappuccino cost $.75
I read on Amazon a ton of negative feedback about this machine, a lot of people say that it stops working after 1 to 4 weeks, that the frother is the first thing to go, and that the descaling process can waste the unit, and to top it all that customer service was awful, IS THIS TRUE?
We had this machine as a Christmas gift from a lovely relative. Its perfect in every way and the temperature is nice and hot without burning the tongue. Great for visitors and gives them the good feel factor. Regarding the video. First praise:- You do a better job than most other videos and you seem to leave no stone unturned, well almost. Second not praise, When turning the froth button from left to right. to demonstrate the quantity of froth You teeze and confuse the viewers. (many videos on various topics use this teezing method ) Because you keep turning the nob subtly too many times quickly from left to right then back again so that we are not sure which way its pointing in order for the required quantity of froth.. It would have been more helpful to pause the turn button on the left for a few a few seconds then again on the left and vice versa. Please don't teez Stick to your overall clarity. And keep up the good work :-)
When I use this machine, I have the drip tray pushed in, but it only fills half my mug with a cappuccino. Can you tell me how I can fill the mug with more milk / foam, but no additional coffee?
Umer Ehsan Hit the latte button again at the end and hit it again to stop it just before the espresso kicks in. Orrrr, get their frother. I use that too.
Is there a link available to the lattissima plus tips and tricks video? The video was referenced a few times in this one but I cannot seem to locate it. Thanks for the great review!
It's an espresso machine. Not a coffee maker. Pour water into the container in the back of it. It is wayyyy better than coffee. Unclear on what issue you are having.
Hi Aromacup, I was looking into buying one of these for Christmas for my mother. She loves alot of froth in her cappuccinos, and I mean ALOT. I'm looking at the Nespresso U with the Nespresso milk frother that comes included with it, and I saw your review on the milk frother. The frother seemed to produce a nice amount of froth, perfect for my mother, I also loved how easy the Nespresso U is to operate. My question is, can the Lattissima Plus create as much froth as you showed in your Nespresso milk frother review. I'm leaning towards buying the Nepresso U Milk combo, but I like how convenient the Lattissima has all the features in one machine.
now i personally have one of these machines (i dont make coffee though) and im waiting to be older to make caffinated coffee im asking if i can make caramel macchiatos ?
First of all here's 2 types of Nespresso capsules. If you need 60ml of espresso you need to use Lungo capsules. Or brew 2 capsules of 30ml. Secondly your milk should be very hot. So here's what you should try. First before you brew espresso - brew hot water (it will prime machine and cup). Then press and hold cleaning button (on milk frother) so you will see steam for 5 seconds. After you done this brew your latte or cappuccino. Let us know results. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
Mine has been stored away for years and thinking about getting more pods and using it again. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it never made my cappuccinos hot enough.
Can you also make a regular cup of coffee with this machine? I have the Starbucks Verissmo unit and it can do both espresso, lattes and a cup of coffee. Unit is breaking down after 10mos so I need a replacement.
Thank you for the video. Informative. What I didn’t like was the white-gloved portion. Also, wiping under your nose isn’t exactly appetizing. Still, I think I’ll buy one of these machines after watching and hearing how great it is.
Great demo Brian. I would really like to see the Nespresso Lattissima Plus head to head against the Cuisinart for Illy Buona Tazza and see which one you prefer. I could use a professional opinion before making the purchase.
Hi Brian, thanks for all of your videos!!! They're super helpful!! Could you do a video that tests the different milk frothers with soy milk? Like the Nespresso Aeroccino and the Latissima plus using Silk soymilk? I want to buy a Nespresso machine (I'm between the Pixie with Aeroccino and the Latissima Plus) but I want to see if the Latissima can froth soymilk before I buy it. I've read mixed reviews that the hose can't pull it up because it's too thick and other reviews that says it does great.
Patent for Nespresso capsules is expired. So you can use alternatives. Take a look our video as a reference Nespresso Capsules vs compatible Capsules by HiLine Coffee Company | Comparison & Review. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com.
Thanks for the tips ... will definitely try the 60mL with the Lungo capsules, as I have quite a few around ... :) Will also do the brew water and cleaning before each cup ... :)
Just hot water: sure, just press the espresso or lungo button without a capsule inserted. First time will have some espresso residue left, second/third time will be fine. Just hot milk: unfortunately not! Maybe by detaching the dial on top of the milk frother, but definitely not designed for that functionality.
Willi Kampmann Yes to just hot milk too. Hit the latte button to start dispensing, then hit it a second time just before the espresso dispenses to stop it. There you go. Only hot milk.
Great, thanks! I'll go with the Latissima! I currently have a Capresso Froth Pro and a CBTL Americano machine (but it hasn't been working great lately). I actually just found this new soymilk that is specifically for milk frothing and it works and tastes great in the Capresso Froth Pro! It's The "Barista Series" from Pacific Natural Foods.
Just bought it 1 hour ago. The shop consultant told me that all plastic removable parts are dishwasher safe (with the exception of the transparent milk hose). Edit: the machine I bought is called Lattissima Touch in Belgium but it looks exactly the same as the black colour version.
Great review! Bought this a week ago and I love it! :-) Bit I was woundering, is there anyway to brew chocolate? Are nespresso selling chocolate capsules?
put hot cocoa powder (Swiss Miss, Nestle) in your cup, use an old empty pod, and latte or cappacino button. mix drink with spoon after brewing. You can use a recently used full pod for a mocha cocoa.
NEEEEED YOUR HELP. Getting an espresso/cappucino/latte/coffee machine for a small business (NOT A COFFEE SHOP BUT will serve 4-5 espresso/coffee items on the menu. I am looking at the GAGGIA SYNCRONY LOGIC...is there anything much better in your opinion in that 5 to 6 hundred price range? super automatic is a priority. good flavor + even a child could use the machine (exaggeration) = what i need.
It's hard to find great Super automatic machine for this price. But I think Gaggia Synchrony Logic is good machine as well. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com
Love my Lattissima Plus, but the milk frother could be better. I get more consistent results from it than from the Aeroccino at my parents, but the results are inferior.
Here's a video of the Lattissima Plus using soymilk. It works really well with the Pacific Natural Foods Barista Series Soy Blenders. The amount of froth is about the same with the milk frother set to the minimum and maximum foam. Demonstration: Delonghi Lattissima Plus soy latte
I bought one of these. But to tell you the truth i'm a little disappointed. I can never get the coffee quite hot enough.Tried heating cups & all that jazz. Shouldn't have to though... Lucky for me the microwave sits above the nespresso machine. 5-10 sec in there and i'm convinced I went out and bought my coffee. Nesspresso might have lifted the bar on coffee machines but it sure wouldn't hurt to lift the temperature bar too.
Thank you. You can't increase temp but you can prime machines before first use (just run a hot water). This will make your beverage hotter :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Congrats with new machine!!! It's actually very simple. Start with 1/3 proportion. 1/3 of espresso, 1/3 of steamed milk and 1/3 of foam. Then adjust to your preference (more espresso or more foam and etc) Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
It's very common complain. Here's what you can do to fix it. 1st - prime Lattissima Plus machine before you brew espresso (brew hot water without capsule). Once it done brew your espresso and you will see big difference. It works very well for us. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Hi can i use it without the milknfrother and use milk capsules instead
Love my new machine! I bought it on line at the Bed Bath & Beyond Store and they used my 20% off coupon so I saved $80!!! The machine came with 16 capsules too and I ordered capsules through BB&B for a fraction of a price with free shipping!

Great video, straight to the point, really appreciate "no stories" within the presentations!
Could I put the milk container back to fridge with milk in it after each use? Thanks!! I can't wait to get one.
Can I use other kinds of milk, such as Almond milk?
What a great review, subscribed in an instant! Keep it up Brian and greetings from Finland!
I've just purchased this machine, it is very good. But somehow, I think the milk/coffee proportion is slightly off.

I tried to do it, but the buttons for macchiato don't stop blinking..only the buttons for coffe stop...what can I do..
i picked up the pixie with milk steamer for $279, in your opinion is it worth the extra $129 for the lattisima? thanks.
Can you fit a large 16-ounce tumble/travel mug under the brewing spigot?
Thanks Brian!
Do you get a good milk frother with the lattissima? How it compares with the aeroccino?
How do you clean/rinse the milk mechanism?
can we have cold froth milk with this machine?
But since I have no way of finding out how much of the milk is actually steamed milk, and foam, how should I do it ?

How i do make reset in this same model?
Hey brian! Does this machine warm up the entire milk tank? Can i use whole milk and fill it to the top and when im done using it can i just put the milk tank in the fridge?

Do they offer organic pods?
Congratulations Brian! Excelent review!
I have one and I love it! Use it every day and have had no problems with it. I mostly have macchiatos and lattes and love that I don't need a separate frother anymore 😀
how about the temperature? I read several reviews about lukewarm
Don Gonzalo Get their separate frother if you want it even hotter. It's perfect to me.
Great job putting this review together. This review convinced me to go from the bottom line model to this one.
Thanks
Thanks, Brian. Your video was very informative and because of your video I bought one today! I really like the size of this machine and I really love the idea that I can make a latte or a cappuccino at home anytime. Thanks again!!! Love this machine.
Just bought this for my mother for christmas. Hope she likes it
i want to now how to lower the temperature because i increase the temperature and a lot of steam comes out with low milk
I have one of these... I just push a button in the morning and leave the room to go do my makeup. It's super fast and EASY... I come back and my coffee is in my mug and ready to go with me to work ~ can't get any easier!
Great Review, Clear and Simple and Straight Forward,
Great one! Bought one today! Its amazing! Looking forward for tomorrow morning!
How easy is it to clean? Is the milk holding compartment dishwasher safe? Thanks
I just cleaned mine 2 days ago, i took about 2 mins to clean and was very easy to carry out. and yea the milk container is dishwasher safe :)
My machine has 6 buttons, may I ask what the difference is between the two machines?
The milk container on the + is not new to Nespresso on this machine, the two previous generations of Lattissima's both had a milk container like this one.

Does this also makes regular coffee?
It does Americano :) . Please take a look How to Make a perfect Caffè Americano with the Nespresso Machine. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com.
When I use this machine, I have the drip tray pushed in, but it only fills half my mug with a cappuccino. Can you tell me how I can fill the mug with more milk / foam, but no additional coffee?

Technically, you could use chocolate milk instead of regular milk in the milk compartment for a more chocolatey drink, correct?
Yes you can. Make sure to wash milk frother thoroughly though. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com
We enjoy adding flavored/spiced almond milk, especially in the fall and around the holidays.
Can we use soya milk in this machine?
Sure you can. In fact you can use any milk. Foam will be different thought. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com
Great!! Can this do latte art also?
Hi Brian
I'm still waiting for Lattissima Plus tips and tricks???
I think we all do... loool
Is there a link available to the lattissima plus tips and tricks video? The video was referenced a few times in this one but I cannot seem to locate it. Thanks for the great review!
I bought mashine 3 days ago ,i dont know , how to use it, When i put capsole in, only hot water coming,
WoLf sHaDoW Call Nespresso to teach you. The pod goes in only one way.
I have this machine but I have no idea how to make a coffee with it? It just puts the coffee bit but there's no water?
is an espresso machine, for either espresso or espresso based milky coffees, I think your looking for more of a filter coffee machine or something :D
It's an espresso machine. Not a coffee maker. Pour water into the container in the back of it. It is wayyyy better than coffee. Unclear on what issue you are having.

Thanks for the review. Is there a way to increase the temp of the coffee? I like it to be extra hot!
Can you program the machine to use just milk, with no coffee? I was thinking powdered hot chocolate with milk when I don't want coffee.
***** Which one is the "milk" button?
Lara Henshaw Archer It's macchiato button. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com
now i personally have one of these machines (i dont make coffee though) and im waiting to be older to make caffinated coffee im asking if i can make caramel macchiatos ?
“The temperature is about 160”. What is that in Celsius please?
As always, very helpful and detailed.
Also thanks aromacup I'm glad I don't need to bother with the manual now :)
I just picked up this model brand new on ebay for $180. A local auction with little interest. Looking forward to my first cappuccino. :-)
Mine has been stored away for years and thinking about getting more pods and using it again. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it never made my cappuccinos hot enough.
thats because you have to run water through it before you make a coffee when you turn it on. otherwise it'll never be hot.
Can you also make a regular cup of coffee with this machine? I have the Starbucks Verissmo unit and it can do both espresso, lattes and a cup of coffee. Unit is breaking down after 10mos so I need a replacement.
Yes you can... It does the following; 1) Lungo (Americano) 2) Espresso 3) Latte 4) Cappuccino
Thank you for the video. Informative. What I didn’t like was the white-gloved portion. Also, wiping under your nose isn’t exactly appetizing. Still, I think I’ll buy one of these machines after watching and hearing how great it is.

Patent for Nespresso capsules is expired. So you can use alternatives. Take a look our video as a reference Nespresso Capsules vs compatible Capsules by HiLine Coffee Company | Comparison & Review. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com.
Shape of pods matters.
Excellent review
Thanks for the tips ... will definitely try the 60mL with the Lungo capsules, as I have quite a few around ... :)
Will also do the brew water and cleaning before each cup ... :)
Brian, have you already made the tips and tricks Latissima Plus video?
***** hey, is the tips and tricks video up yet?
can u make an Americano with this machine ?
Did you find out?
The temperature of 160 is concerning. And I wish there was a measure of the milk/foam.
Can this thing give me JUST hot water or JUST milk?
Just hot water: sure, just press the espresso or lungo button without a capsule inserted. First time will have some espresso residue left, second/third time will be fine. Just hot milk: unfortunately not! Maybe by detaching the dial on top of the milk frother, but definitely not designed for that functionality.
Willi Kampmann Yes to just hot milk too. Hit the latte button to start dispensing, then hit it a second time just before the espresso dispenses to stop it. There you go. Only hot milk.
Yes to both. See below.
Love your videos Brian. Im thinking on buying the Nespresso Citiz that comes with the Aeroccino 3. Thanks!
cafetimer Hi I have it Citiz but no Aeroccino- I don’t like it! Lol
Great, thanks! I'll go with the Latissima! I currently have a Capresso Froth Pro and a CBTL Americano machine (but it hasn't been working great lately). Dishwasher safe?
Just bought it 1 hour ago. The shop consultant told me that all plastic removable parts are dishwasher safe (with the exception of the transparent milk hose). Edit: the machine I bought is called Lattissima Touch in Belgium but it looks exactly the same as the black colour version.
Is that a mustache tattoo on your inside left index finger? Pretty cool! Love the video too.
Great review! Bought this a week ago and I love it! :-)
Bit I was woundering, is there anyway to brew chocolate? Are nespresso selling chocolate capsules?
put hot cocoa powder (Swiss Miss, Nestle) in your cup, use an old empty pod, and latte or cappacino button. mix drink with spoon after brewing. You can use a recently used full pod for a mocha cocoa.
I used chocolate milk in the frother and an espresso pod to make a mocha, it tasted great 😊
wheres the tips and tricks video!?

Fantastic review.
The work plan is not right...The table is not perfectly horizontal..This is very disturbing..
Thank you very much, you've been of great help :)

Tips and tricks video coming soon?
Congrats with new machine!!! It's actually very simple. Start with 1/3 proportion. 1/3 of espresso, 1/3 of steamed milk and 1/3 of foam. Then adjust to your preference (more espresso or more foam and etc) Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
Here's few major differences. Price, Premium had auto capsule ejection, more control, has “Clean” button :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
It's very common complain. Here's what you can do to fix it. 1st - prime Lattissima Plus machine before you brew espresso (brew hot water without capsule). This will warm up inside of machine and mug. 2nd - if you use milk press and hold cleaning button (milk frother). You should see a lot of steam. Once it done brew your espresso and you will see big difference. It works very well for us. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Very informative
