She has no powers and is in fact powerless against him and even more stormfront. So even with how Ryan came into being she still loves him and can not afford losing him. It's entirely possible if he knew that it wouldn't happen at all, or if it did he'd become apologetic because he wants to raise his son and be in his life, especially to teach him how to be a supe, so rough relationship start yea, _but in that instance his apology would have been sincere_ and probably even sent him into reflection mode *_The whole incident actually begins with Vogel's lie influencing how Homelander acts_* and how cynical he is about life and other people. The writing for this season was pretty lazy in general, but this episode took it to a whole other level. The one constant is Anthony Starr’s performance as Homelander. Good lord that man is talented.
Ryan's at a vought facility. he can't just go live wherever with whomever. 1 as vogelbaum told homelander, you should have been raised with your family. so it had to be becca. 2 as butcher stated, he's a billion dollar piece of vought property, they ain't gonna just let him go.
