    Fantastic tutorial! Over the past year I've watched MANY double-bevel marquetry tutorials and this one is by far the best I've seen! Excellent explanations of the process, including practical information on the "how to steps" to implement the process. Great work! Good editing and camera work too!

    Wow you must have really good eyesight! My 70 year old eyes would need some kind of magnification to both trace and cut. Very impressive work. Learned something new ,not sure if this will work for me or not ,but I may try it just for fun. Thank You very much! Steve G sent me. So thanks to him also.

      Thanks! I hope you give it a shot and make something wonderful. I definitely have the magnifiers and use them pretty often, especially when there are small pieces. Every year my eyes get a little older!

    I was looking for a clear explanation of "double bevel". I understood what it was but it was hard to really wrap my head around it. Plus, I have a good scroll saw and I wanted to use it in the process. There are so many videos about old style processes using little hand saws and I just couldn't see doing that. Thanks Scott.

    Great video. Steve Goode sent me your way. I am going to have to add this to my scroll saw must do list.

    Thank you for the great information and demonstration. I make small wooden boxes, and want to add some marquetry to the lids, etc., and have a scroll saw on its way. I look forward to following your steps to create some designs.

    This is amazing work I have done some inlay on the scroll but nothing in veneer. Incidentally I have the exact same scroll saw as you are using and it is a fantastic saw.

      Thanks! It really is a great saw, I much prefer the tilting head over the tilting tables. I've got 3 other saws, but this is the one I use the most!

      It makes me sad, I see a lot of marquetry pieces in thrift stores and consignment stores going for very little. Knowing what goes into this process, it's such a shame

    What type/size of blade did you use?

    question? Why can't you cut out the same coloured pieces that are attached to each other at the same time similar to doing segmentation. I must be missing something??

    • @ScottBarronFurniture
      @ScottBarronFurniture  3 года назад +1

      Do you mean cutting them out as one piece? You could do that. I cut them out as separate pieces here so I can make sure the grain direction is going the way I want it to on each piece. For example, I want the grain running end to end on each piece of the stem and leaves so each piece has to be properly oriented along the veneer and cut individually.

    Hi Scott. Very nice video. My name is Steve Good. I write the Scrollsaw Workshop blog. My daily newsletter goes out to a few thousand scrollers every day and I am sure they will like this video. I am going to link to your video in today's post. I don't think it is good form to post the link to my blog here so if you would like to see it just do a Google search for Scrollsaw Workshop. I enjoyed this video a lot.
