I don't think so. The production style and camera work is still too modern, so the black and white doesn't look right to me.
@ChristophWantsSwordsno, it's *literally* supposed to be watched in black and white. The colour option was only added after Nic Cage suggested that younger viewers might not be interested in the classic film noir style- but he's already said in an interview that black and white is the intended viewing experience, and is what made him interested in working on the project in the first place.
@InsomniacStephens141 I'm sure they said that was the intended viewing experience. My point is that it looks wrong because the production and camera work is too modern, so it clashes with the black-and-white. I don't care what they *intended* -- I care about the finished product.
@ChristophWantsSwordsI get what you’re saying. Hard to slap a black and white filter over modern film and have it feel “authentic” . Woulda been cool if they went all the way and used some old cameras.
@ChristophWantsSwords I admit I don't know much about this stuff but it sounds like they did intentionally leave post processing light on the black and white. Seeing some props in articles given to the cinematographer. Possibly you're worried about something that isn't the case with this one

Technically he is called Peter B. Parker in the comics. Te reason why they call him Ben Reilly in the show like one of the main Spider-Man clones could be a legal reason because of Sony. It could simply be an alias too.

I wondered that also, as noir obviously has spider powers, but I quickly came to the conclusion that it may just be saying that he doesn’t have much power in terms of control or in his life over people, reputation etc, so more of a chance to have no responsibility as he’s like a nobody maybe? So like no rules or obligations and does what he wants. I’m not sure if he is a nobody in noir lore and comics so maybe not.

Actually I'm a fan. I'm pretty sure the black and white will be better but hurray for options. I'd like to see a pg, funnier more like the animated character, and r true noir version.
I'm a fan of options. Pretty sure it will be better in black and white that's kinda an important aspect of the character as I know him. Would rather they put the time into having a pg version (funnier lightened themes) and an R 'true noir' version like this looks like this could be. I just hope they don't try the stupid waste of trying to push the boundaries of pg13 but still say it's for kids too.
