🇬🇧 Vauxhall Corsa D Heater Blower only works on 4 (Maximum) How To Repair
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 окт 2024
- If your ventilation blower only works on max, this video shows how to repair the fault.
The motor resistor will be faulty, here I show how to change the damaged part.
This fault is very common on many different vehicles.
Amazon Link to buy new Heater Resistor, £9.99, amzn.to/3J3r5z0
1/4 Socket set £22 amzn.to/3868RI1
5mm.Screwdriver £6 amzn.to/33S2Wa4
Heater resistor and new connector plug £13 amzn.to/37tYVKp
Absolutely spot on. To the point, no fluff and accurate - just what I needed and saved me from trying to access the back of the switch.
Many thanks
Jon
You're very welcome Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Mine just needed pushing in. Many thanks mate, really helped me out when I don’t have much money.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Mine just needed pushing in a bit as well! Thanks for the video
Thanks mate. You just saved me £10 🙂
Thanks so much! Managed to contortionist myself into the footwell and do it, blower now works. So chuffed 💃🏻
Well done, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Video spot on, a big thank you for taking the time to do a first class job
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you Anton! The video was spot on mate! Very clear, short and precise 👍 I've managed to replace the heat resistor and heaters are working perfectly fine.. Muchly appreciated!
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Perfect. My wifes new car is a 1.2 litre Energy. Has just this problem and now I know exactly how to fix it, Most certainly deserves a like and subscription.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 welcome sir
Exactly the problem on my car. Even a link to Amazon for Resistor. SUPERSTAR!!!!! 🙂
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video. Unfortunately this was a long job for me due to various problems with the connector plug but I eventually got it solved. Without this video I wouldn’t even know where to start. Big thanks!!!
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Cheers chap just fixed mine after watching this ...i pulled the plug out and pushed it back in and it now works spot on... ..thanks again ill remember this fix
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks bud - thanks to this video got my first ever car repair done myself! Really clear instructions.
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I need your prompt reply asap now!
Thanks for this, very helpful,my daughters Corsa D had the same problem, removed the resistor and one of the pins was corroded slightly, cleaned it up and it worked fine again.
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for video. Got resistor off Internet for 12 quid including P&p and managed to fit myself. Only fiddly bit was getting the screw in and out. Now the heater works as normal. Saved me quite a bit of money as garages quoted between £50-£80 to replace it. If you have the same problem with your Corsa, I would recommend you follow this video and try do it yourself. If I can do it, anyone can.
Thanks Glen for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Had the same issue. Ordered a new one off amazon along with a 5.5mm socket. 5 min job all good. Thanks alot for the heads up. The only issue i had is that one of theblocating lugs was off so had to carefully grind it off. Popped in a treat.
Glad it helped, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi Anton, I really congratulate you for the clarity with which you explained everything....in particular, the technique with which you extracted the resistor from its housing...really GOLD advises for me as I'm just a neophyte! !! Thanks again
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Perfect. I have just sorted my father in laws heater using your video, thanks. FYI, his bolt was slightly bigger than 5mm so used my pals 7/32 spanner and all sorted, so thanks very much for posting.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Yes - what RUclips tutorials should be like! But can confirm Simon Davey's experience. I just swapped out on a 2012 Corsa SE 1.4 and it had 5.5mm nut (although replacement-part bolt/screw was 5mm) ... initial frustration followed by some relief on finding a 5.5mm socket knocking around the house ... @@aaanton11
thanks very useful information - just happend on mine wondering if this is common fault on corsas. never heard of it happening on other cars. thanks for posting
It’s a common fault on all cars that use these resistors, thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you so very much, no more freezing cold hands for me now, well done, your video was very clear and the unit was so simple to swap.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
My heater is not working properly so what should i do .
Great - many thanks, my daughter and her Corsa D thank you for saving her from the "Max or nothing" syndrome :)
Glad it helped!, Thanks Paul for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
My car heater was only working on 4 . After i changed the resister it works on all now . Thanks for upload it really helped and saved my some dosh.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Daughter very happy now fan fixed on her car. Great tip about clips and how to get resistor out. Thank you
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Brought the new part from Amazon.
Unplugged the old one.
Realised I don't have the right tool to remove the old one.
Plugged back into the old one.
It's now all working again 🤣
I've wasted £9.99.
Great video though keep up the good work.
The connector plug will be melted pull it off and check it again you might need to replace the plug there is also a link for that in the description Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thanks I'll see how it works next time I'm in the car.
If you have a left-hand drive car (i.e. Opel) then the resistance must be pushed to the right when you take it out. It's a really good video. The bolt that holds the resistor is actually a 5.5 mm, completely idiotic, but I got it out with a spanner and a pair of pliers as I only have keys in whole mm. Thanks for the video mate.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hey is the connector under the steering wheel or the glove box on the left-hand drive opels?
Thanks for this. I will try changing it myself once the part gets delivered.
No problem 👍 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video, this has saved me £50.00 at the garage, many many thanks top job....
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video and my Vauxhall Corsa van has the problem. I will be following your instructions and and will let you know if I am successful. Cheers
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
It worked a treat and I now have a fully functioning fan. Cause was a dirty connector pin with verdigris on it. Measured resistance taps all good measured thermal fuse and that was 0 ohms. Cleaned pin and rubbed vasseline on the pins- reassembled tested okay. Thank you so much!!
Good video, straight to the point and no rabbiting on for 10 minutes,
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you very much for this tutorial, it helped me soo much. I recommand this video to everyone who has this problem, thanks again!!! Liked subscribed.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 cheers, I'll order the part and give it a go.
Great video! Just followed this and my blowers are working perfect! Wish I had seen this video a year and a half ago when they first stopped working properly!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 so it has worked perfectly for the last 3 days and now it’s completely shut off again 😅. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot mate, especially the clear footage in such a nightmare of a spot to work in was very helpful. Cheers!
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks - very clear. its the third one thats failed over about 8 years - so looks like a common fault
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks again mate. Unfortunately for me this is the second time referring to this video as the previous resistor didn't last long
You will either need a new connection plug or a new motor the plug is the more common one links are in the description Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
My corsa van heater played up this morning only speed 4 working! A big Thankyou for the video as this is my job this week saves me booking it into a garage
Cheers fella
Thanks for the great 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks!! seems like my plug just had some dirt in it. I removed it, blew the connector out with some compressed air and works perfectly now!
Nice work! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Best video.BEFORE REMOVING THE PART TRY TO SHAKE IT- contact might be the issue as the part is located at the passenger feet
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video, took me an hour to find a socket to fit and get my massive body in the footwell. 5 mins to change
😂 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Excellent. Top man, I was scared that I would probably have to replace the fan.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Great advice on replacement done and dusted 10 mins tks
Glad it helped, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks . Knew what the problem was but now I know where it is
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video, i actually did not know where the resistor was until this video so i just banged mine for the meantime with my hand and it works 🙂😁
I would check the connector for melting, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Managed it in about 10 mins. Hope it lasts a bit like. Excellent video mate.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Top man Anton, video was spot on 👍🏻
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Good video but when replacing it do bear in mind the mileage the vehicle might have done. I'm at 150K and I'd already replaced the resister bank quite some time ago and when the fan would only run on 4, thought I know exactly what it is (had the same on a Citroen). Swapped it out but while driving the 5 miles into town, I started to get a nice burning smell into the car. I switched the fan off! I have just taken out the fan and it runs reasonably well on pos. 4 but doesn't turn at all on pos. 1 and not much better on 2. And spinning the fan I'm lucky to get one revolution. Bearings are shot.
So yes, you might get away with replacing these resisters (its an easy fix) but it isn't always the problem. Btw compared to the Citroen replacing it on the Corsa is a walk in the park.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for the good explanation. I managed to fix it. it was explained very factually and easily. nice greetings from Germany 👍👍
Glad it helped!, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Watched this video, done the job in 10 minutes, (im 6' 2'') note to self take the seat out first next time, thank you aaanton11, thank you very much, love my corsa again !!!!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I had same problem and when I unplugged and plugged the wiring into the resistor it sorted itself. Just to say try that first before full resistor replacement
Your connector plug will be melting, have a look at the pins, link to new one ion the video description, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

You're a great problem solver.
What if all the fan speeds work fine, but, only one of the various heating outlets, brings out the hot air?
vent control issue, check the side levers on the heater unit, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks Bro, you just saved my ass ❤
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks! I'll order my replacement today
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
My car had the fault, and now, with this video it fixed at NO COST, because it was oxided contact points which caused the fault. I used a contact spray can, and took care to cover the parts so I did not spray the hole compartment.
Well Done, Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks a million. Your shared content was helpfulness.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you very much for this very good video. I've must resolve now this problem, too and this clip is perfect to replace this resister on my own.
I learned that there should be different values of resistance (or does it not matter?).
Which one would be for a 2011 Vauxhall Corsa (german production)?
Best Regards from germany.

What tool do I need to take the old one out because it isn't a normal screw thank you
The screw is a 5mm size, tool for the job if you don't have a socket set is amzn.to/33S2Wa4 for £6 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Haha count me in too! I just been hit with the issue tgus morning
Did mine this morning the size is 5.5 not 5 all done and working fine
Great video just some advice…get it from Amazon, is just 8£ rather than 33£ on euro car parts.
yes the links are in the description, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Question.......was the car on the floor or up on a ramp? Almost breaking my back trying to squeeze the 2 clips together to remove the old resistor. Seems to be major ag being left handed.
on the floor, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Did the replacement one double up on the power pins ? As normally it only has 2 power wires, the later ones have 4 pins, 2 live and 2 negative so need to also change to an new plug and add the extra 2 wires in
It will work just leave the extra pins blank, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for this - mine works on every setting EXCEPT 4, any idea if it's the same issue?
It should be. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
