- Here is the long version of the first ascent up this drainage. I don't believe anyone else has ever gone up this canyon on sleds before. Usually can't go up this as there is never enough snow at the bottom to cross the creek. A couple of Snowbikes came down it the week before we went up it. What a fun canyon.
Thank you for not adding cover music! Love the sound of you sleds guys.
Sounds of sleds is music to my ears.
@@yamadoo04snow again thank you man. Love love love the sound of a 2 stroke on the pipe. And you and your buddies fucking killed it!! Stay safe and keep the awesome videos coming. Your sleds sound sick!
yamadoo04 the sounds of two strokes his awesome, but I especially loved the sound of the waist gate blowing off every times you cut the gas.😍😍😍
3:43 is there anyone else who tried to dodge that tree too, or am I the only one?
I flinch and dodge stuff all the time and I am the one who rode it but it still gets me. LOL
It's nice seeing guys that can ride like this without pinning the throttle to the handlebar and then go, "I don't know what happened" after wrapping their sleds around a tree or two. 👍👍
Thanks
damn go pro with the fish eye, im sure that was steep as hell
I know this creek, its called shit creek on wear yer ass out mountain.... thanks for the video, this is how my friends and I used to ride. see a path and see if it goes anywhere. my mind still wants to go shit-holing, but my almost 60 year old back wont let me.
Got me leaning into it in my seat! Awsome skills guys ohh and sick sleds!
Thanks
Real skills at minute 10:05
Nice little tree tap huh. LOL
5:00 "take the right side" hahaha 😂 I was laughing out loud when I saw that one! 😂
Most "honest" sno-cat'n video i have seen. i was look'n for a hole at 10:00 but you had already found it !! We got a similar place (_itch Creek). Good rid'n. It is good to have "Friends" such as your's. Thank's for sharing.. Take care. i will stop watching here for tonight. My shoulder is sore. :)
Yeah I like to show that we do get stuck. Its not all only success when we ride. We all get stuck and fail at times and its fun to show the real deal of riding.
Awesome Video!
I appreciate seeing the work involved in getting these places. Little more real world than just the highlight reel. Nice work
Thanks, I like highlight reals as well but its nice to see that other people do like the "real world" video too. We all know the outing are not full of just highlight reals. This first exploring trip up this canyon took 3 hrs to go 3 miles. We have done it in less time now that we know what we are in for but that first trip was a blast.
yamadoo04 Love to find drainages like this! Is your Axys losing a crank bearing? Mine started to this last season, had an all metal encased one put in. Sounds like a Boondocker? Have you tried anything different? Man that looks familiar, I’m here in Utah, love to ride sometime araybutler@gmail.com
@@yamadoo04snow I can fully relate, our little group could spend all day to get 3_4 km, it can be alot of work but rewarding. I've got many photos over the yrs of us, filling in creek holes, sled upside down in holes, wrapped up in willows. I'm now 51, still love riding this stuff, it's hard to find people my age that's interested in doing these adventures, I raised my boy and nephew in this stuff so now thier my ridding partners.
This vid in my opinion is the BEST sledding vid on the internet, all the stuff that the pros film is boring, and there's only a small group of riders that's into this kinda stuff.
Jeff
@@jc9601 Thank you. It is the best kind of riding in my opinion. The challenge to go where others have not gone before can be so rewarding. It can have its fair share of bad days as well. I went through 4 A Arms on my sled last year. LOL. My buddy had his sled upside down in creek for about an hr last year on one trip. Took 7 guys to pull it out. I wish I had video of that one. I agree it is hard to find that group that will go on these kids of adventures. But once you get the group it is a tight nit group that has your back too. I am raising my boys to ride so I will have someone to ride with when I get older as well. I am 13 years behind you but time flies the older you get. My boys are only 10 and 7 now but they love this sport as much as I do.
My favorite climb on RUclips. Got the steep and the deep enough. Trees. Good cameras. And most importantly all pure turbo sounds.
kurtistjones Thanks. That is one of my favorite climbs as well.
Your ability to avoid hitting stuff that can break yourself and your sled is uncanny!! Nice WORK guys. How old are you guys and how long did it take to get to the top?
Scott A. Weaver Thanks. I’ve hit my fair share of trees. 😂. So the first time we did this canyon took 3 hrs. It’s only 3 miles to the top. Lol. We did it much faster the second time. Once we know what we are up against it makes it much easier. I’m 38 years old. Been riding since I was 8.
I had no idea you could ride that trail 🤔 i live up near there! I guess I’m gonna have I to give it a go this year
What are your sleds and camera? Thx
Damn, I was worn out just watching this lol
That was a spectacular video guys.. love the POV, not shaking just smooth! You two are phenomenal riders!!
Thanks. I appreciate the compliment
What a sweet sound when the exhaust tip clears the snow!
When your thinking " do not let off the gas"
great video, looks fun as heck. Cold, but fun
Man im really impressed with those Polaris
Pretty obvious at 3:51 you DONT have a tether. Better get one Bro. . . . just sayin :)
It has been installed.
Crazy because I know where this is. I followed these tracks a few days after you guys! This is definitely one of my favorite places to ride
Pretty fun huh
I’ll be in alpine all this winter. Maybe we can ride this winter. 🤷♂️🤘
Rickasurus Rex Yeah that would be cool to hook up to ride.
Super Vid. Im Not into the fast trail riding, in the 2 yrs i've been up here in main I've, head ons with telephone poles trees and sadly other sledders. Too many guys buy the farm flying down trails. I prefer what I see you guys doing here, it looks addictive!!!. What Camera gimbal system are you using? Ive got a couple Zenmuse systems I use on my large copters but not sure if thy will handle the environment. I have used stating mounts to date, Happy Thanksgiving and Safe sledding!!
Poppa Phill Stoffer Thanks. Mountain riding is a ton of fun. So it’s a 360 camera called Rylo. It does all the stabilization in the app. I have used all sorts of gimbals in the past trying to do what this camera does. Nothing else compares to it.
@@yamadoo04snow much appreciated. It cant be any meaner on the wallet than these zenmuse units on my copter. Gonna check it out if these crazy Dr,s allow me to go out to play! Happy Thanksgiving!
This vid is identical to the type of creekbeds we ride in northern bc, I love this vid , as your going up I'm picking out my lines.
This is 100% back country riding, absolutely love it, the nastier the better.
Tks for sharing this.
Where was this vid filmed? Love it that it's not tracked out .
@@jc9601 In a little secret Stash we have in Utah. Nobody else that I know of has ever gone up this ravine. Not easy to get to from the bottom and usually not enough snow at the bottom to do it. We got lucky last year.
I found our creeks back in the early 2000s, we kept them quiet for a long time but unfortunately we have to beet the Alberta weekend warriors to our spot now, we so wat we can to make life miserable for them though lol.
Iv since moved to the sicamous Revelstoke area for the great summer lifestyle but I dearly miss my old sledding grounds. To many people here and it's big business and also finding riders to ride this stuff is challenging.
@@jc9601 I hear ya. We try to get our our areas via hard ways so people can't follow us in. LOL I've always wanted to ride Revelstoke and we finaly got to do it last year in December. We should have been there a week after we were but still had some awesome days up there. The country up there is pretty spectacular. We had some great views and great sunny days to see those mountains. I hear ya on the crowds though. To Many people out there any more. LOL It use to be that the experts could only get to certain spot but with these sled now days anybody can get there it seems.
@@yamadoo04snow I'll tell you what, if your ever wanting to come back to the sicamous area, let me know, I'm learning the area from locals and I'll provide you with the best ride I can with the knowledge I have.
Sno pack has been a bit out off the norm shallow and I'm thinking best times to come is Jan and on, plus the days are longer.

That ski tap at 10:08 was clean! Well done!
Right on!
As long as the sled makes it up and you don’t - much easier than other way around!
Yes it is for sure.
Damn you boys know how to ride a sled.! Nice work!
Thanks
What GoPro mount are you using??
Its not a gopro. Its a 360 camera called Rylo
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this start to finish.... it just doesn’t get old. It’s like backcountry heaven!
That's awesome. Glad you like it. I have watched it multiple times too. LOL
Great video. My kinda riding. Very adventurous and playful.
I would love to ride with you guys. Looks fun!
My arms are sore just watching that awesome ride. Nice job guys
That terrain is no joke!
Took us 3 hrs the first time we did it as we did not know what was going up ahead of us around each bend. Also if one guy got stuck near the bottom he was pretty much on his own to get out. That happened a few times. LOL
Really big thanks for no music. The engine and listening to throttle position to see what you guys decided to do was waaAAay more than enough entertainment. My stomach had butterflies....when you clipped the poplar tree with your left ski, I juss bout fell outta my chair. AAHHHH......better than TV.
Dynamo Joe Lol Thanks. Yeah I’m over the music for my videos. So much better with the sounds of the sleds.
You guys are awesome riders!! Is this in Idaho, near Palisades?
faaaaak i wish we had this in ontario :(
ps what camera setup are you using?
Its Called Rylo. Not too many mountains in Ontario huh ;)
@@yamadoo04snow thanks man gunna look into it. And naww just a bunch of weak hills lol.
На чем вы туда добираетесь? Какие прицепы используете?
I love your sled bro I gotta get another sled ... sick riding and video... keep braaaap bro
Thanks.
Different world ridin in the mountains ...
I just got my license and you guy made it so I have more fun
you let your guard down at the end of the movie: both riders on the open slope simultaneously!
Maybe a little bit but where we dropped in it wasn't all that steep. Had we dropped in 50 yards to the right it would be a completely different story for sure. Where we went in though it was a pretty gradual slope that didn't have a very long run to it. We stayed near that tree line on the left side and did not cut over to the steep part of the hill until we were near the bottom. Check out a site called CalTopo.com It gives you degrees of slope for the hill you are looking at on the map. If you click on this link ibb.co/5F5wrxn it will take you to a picture of my tracking for that section. You can see that we only crossed a small section that would have the potential to slide as we dropped into that bowl. Most of that hill is less than 27 degrees and only crossed a small section that is in the low 30's for a very short length. I was watching the hill constantly to see for any signs as we dropped in. Snow was very stable that day all around too.
Wow! I'm exhausted just watching that!!!
Nice video, thanks for sharing!
Great video, and riding.
I just don’t understand why riders want to bounce their beautiful sleds off of trees.
One ride out and it looks like it’s been through a wire brush car wash.
Be safe !!
Awesome video no music
Love the vid but no tether on the poo???
Tether has been added for this year.
You running turbo sleds?
Yes
Is this waterfall canyon behind ogden high?
Nope. Its a bit further south. Not really named waterfall canyon. That's just what we call it now.
Great job, looks like so much fun!!!
Great video! Looks like a lot of fun. I wish we had that in NY.
Where are you guys again. This is this year right? I so jealous we don't even have snow yet
This was last year. We still don't have any snow yet either. I am just posting a bunch of videos I never got a round to last year.
I kinda figured haha
At 4:10 just a bit sooner on the gas and you would have cleared it, so always follow the rules, when in doubt, floored it. 👍👍👍
It was a quick decision as we had never been up that canyon yet. Had I know that was coming I could have hit it sooner but I didn't know what was around the next corner. I hit it full but the bump before sent my sled too vertical and took away some of the momentum and if I kept on the gas it would have flipped me upside down. Instead I let off the gas and let the back end hit the log and fall over it.
yamadoo04 totally get it I said that because from the sound I see that you’d try, that’s why I said a bit sooner, I’m not a pro in snowmobile department, but I’ve ride sportbikes all my life and it’s the same kinda diseases you get adrenaline addicted, and it’s always faster, quicker, further. 😂👍👍👍👍
@@claudebaron9525 I am definitely addicted to that adrenaline too. Yes If I was on it just a second earlier I probably would have made it.
super as if i was riding
Is this in Utah
Yes sir
I want try that! Which region are you from?
Utah
10:08 that was crazy
I was surprised myself that I was able to keep it going. Got to love the turbo.
awsome playground and vid, keep it coming!
Where’s this located?
Utah
Awesome video...I shared it to all my flatlander buddies in anticipation for their first trip out !! Love the audio!
awesome video. can’t wait for it to snow and get out there this season
ME TOO!!!
legit. nice riding.
Awesome footage guys. 👍
Looks like you guys are having way too much fun
Too much fun. No such thing :)
small tree at 11:24 looks like it was rubbed by a deer or elk?
Probably. Lot of them up there in the summer.
Shredding the pow !
Is that clicking the clutch or something??? I've not spent that much time on snow machines in the backcountry like this. Awesome looking riding mate. Best to you all.
Not sure about a clicking noise but you can here the turbo back pressure when i let off the throttle and blow air back out the vents.
@yamadoo04 does that summit have his t motion locked out? Wicked videos! Love this terrain man!
Yes he does.
@@yamadoo04snow figured, nice sleds, awesome videos!
@@yamadoo04snow hey this is spomey you followed our tracks a few years back up at knobblets, lets keep in touch and ride sometime, I have a two silly partners in crime that would love this.
@@kenspomer8494 Sounds good to me. That must have been down that canyon that comes right to the parking lot. That was quite the adventure. I want to go up that canyon now if there is ever enough snow again.
@@yamadoo04snow yeah baby. Hey are you in the poo or the doo
Best snowmobile videos on youtube! (and I would know because I watch way too much) Curious whether you use the rylo everyday case or the adventure case. The reviews are not very good on the adventure case but it seems you would need something to protect the camera.
Gordon Moon Thanks man. I appreciate the comment. I use just the everyday case. No need for the adventure case. I do put electrical tape over the hole for the plug while riding just to keep snow out of it.
Woow !! I love snowmobiles. I have a question. Because in the USA many snowmobiles have turbo?
Desenlatado Motovlog You have to put it on aftermarket but they are getting more popular. Especially in the west where we ride the taller mountains. Up at high elevations our power gets robbed so we need to make up for that loss in hp.
@@yamadoo04snow Okay, I didn't know it was for that. Here in Asturias (Spain) the highest mountains are around 2000 meters high only. I will continue watching your videos 😊😉✌
Desenlatado Motovlog Yeah my house sits at 5, 300 ft (1600 meters) most of our riding starts about 7,000 ft and goes up to 11,000 ft. Thanks for watching. I’m sure I’ll get more videos up soon. Snow is just starting to fall so it won’t be long now.
@@yamadoo04snow wow !!! is incredible. It is very cool. Have fun and continue enjoying those snowmobiles✌ greetings from Spain
What is your GoPro mount that it turns with the helmet?
It is a 360 camera so the turning is done in the editing process. Camera is called Rylo
Красавцы ребята 👍👍👍
Excellent
That spot looks awesome!
Where-abouts is this? I see you say Utah. I'm in utah county and would love to check that canyon out.... maybe just to snowshoe up it - my sledding skills aren't up to par
Riding n Stuff Sorry I don’t like to give away the good spots for riding as then everyone else wants to flock there and then the secret spot is gone.
@@yamadoo04snow Fair enough :) I'll just "have to" explore lol
Huge skills in Big Balls man thanks for this video this is Thriller

That out to be the first time someone didn’t pin it to get going
What mount do you have for your go pro max?
firstgensfirst It’s not the max. It’s called Rylo. But it’s just a regular mount on top of my helmet.
That was awesome, the log launch at 6:10 was epic. Seeing stuff like this sways me back to a sled purchase instead of the Snow Bike Idea.
Pitt Bull Yeah the snowbikes have their place but it’s not for me. I’m so much more comfortable on a sled than a bike. Snowbikes can get in some areas that a snowmobile can’t but there are so many places a sled can go that a bike can’t.
I haven't been on a sled since the 80's. I had a highly modified Yamaha ET340 and an SRX for Cross country racing and mountain trails. I've sat and watched for years and watched as sleds have transformed from what they were into the insane machines they are today. No way could we even dream about reaching the places you are now capable of getting into now. Living in the lower mainland of BC has it's benefits but access to snow close by has not been one of them. As much as I'd always wanted to get another sled, I just can't justify having one until I move closer to snow country. A snow bike conversation for one of my bikes is even tough to fathom. Still, watching this video and seeing what you are capable of doing really tips the scales. Hope you have a great winter this year.
Pitt Bull I hear ya. I started as a kid in the 80s on an Arctic Cat Panther. It’s amazing what these sled can do now. I remember thinking in the late 80s with the Phazer II came out how can they get any better. 😂 times sure have changed.
@@yamadoo04snow bikes might not be for everyone but theres no way i would ever go back to a sled. My 45 hp bike goes places these turboed up 200 hp cant. I have no use to point and shoot up avalanche shoots where these big boy sleds go. To each their own. Ride on
@@patrickhickey8779 You are right to each their own. I rode with 4 snowbikers on Saturday and each one of them have a sled as well. They all said they have their place but they don't replace the sleds by any means. The bikes are fun as well and its just different but they still each own sleds and ride them as well. I personally like sleds better but I have been riding them for 30 years. Only been riding a bike for 5 years. No way on earth would a snowbike ever replace my sled. They have their place but its not for me.

What an awesome line to watch, definitely putting a turbo on my axys after this video!
Ok
What is that brrrrt sound that the axys makes every time you let off the gas?
What do u think, turbo
Turboahdettu Supra I didn’t know if people turbo’d 2 strokes often I only ride trails usually we don’t have this kind of riding in Vermont. Makes sense that it’s a blowoff valve though just doesn’t sound like what you’d hear on a car
Caleb M. You’ve never heard a turbo’d sled before?
I have, but only four strokes.
Icutmetal 4 strokes yeah but didn’t know about two strokes- figured that they would blow up after like 4000 miles with a turbo
