why do people shame people for wanting to be alone/live alone? I have been kind of a 'loner' my whole life and prefer to be alone, I live in a studio flat in London too, I lived with flatmates in my first year of uni and it was hell. Nothing wrong with being an independent individual. Some people are afraid to be alone, they feel like they need to be constantly surrounded by people and can't do anything alone as they feel like it gives them validation.
I'm Spanish and everyone I know has an oven. In fact we cook a lot in the oven as far as I know, might be a student accommodation thing :) I love your vlogs, I'm buzzing for your vlogs here in Spain :)
As a GCSE Spanish student, it's a delight to get to know Spain through your vlogs, because at the moment school trips aren't taking place. Good wishes for your life there.
I'm from Spain and we do have ovens, actually nearly all houses have one. Maybe, the reason you don't have an oven is because this looks like a flat destined for tourist to stay just a few days, but because of Covid-19 lots of renter have decided to rent this flats for longer stays.
As an English guy living is Sevile I can confirm there is a real lack of ovens here. I've rented twice and bought once and nine of them came with an oven 😅
This makes me so excited for my year abroad in Valencia in September! So happy for you that you've finally had the chance to go Eve - I love your videos! Cannot wait to see more of your time there!
Omg I went to Seville and some of the surrounding small towns on a school trip and it was so beautiful!! I can’t wait to go back Enjoy your time there, buzzing to relive it through you until I can go
I studied abroad in Seville in the spring of 2020 and I LOVED IT!! I got sent home because of Covid but I can't wait to be back, you're gonna have an amazing time!!
La lluvia en Sevilla es una maravilla , es una buena frase para practicar la "ll" española y sobre todo recuérdala cuando tengas 35 o 40 grados de temperatura este verano. Bienvenida a España.
One of the places I lived in in Salamanca for a language course was devoid of an oven too! My theory was it was a small flat and it would make the place too hot and it was probably quite expensive to run!
You have worked so hard, so impressively, since O'Levels, you absolutely deserve to have a fantastic time in Seville! When you visit the Roman ruins near Seville, make sure you stop off at the little monastery on the way, you'll love it. Best of luck!
it was so difficult finding a flat with an oven in Valencia last semester and my Spanish flatmate didn't ever use it. So glad you finally made it out, the Covid/Brexit double whammy has not been kind to us year abroaders :)
So glad I discovered your channel! I'm moving to Sevilla as well for my Erasmus in september, so these vids are great for hyping me up haha. 3 months still, can't wait!
Your German landlord probably wasn’t that bad, it’s just super common that German apartments come completely empty. Usually without a kitchen, and if the kitchen comes definitely without utensils. Thought I’d explain:)
Exactly, it´s very common there... meanwhile in Spain they normally come furnished (specially for students) but usually the furniture is ugly AF hahahahhahahah
That's so cool!!! Llevo planeando ir a España por más de 3 años, pero por distintas circunstancias no he podido hacerlo :c Sevilla estaba en mi lista, pero después de este video, aún más!! Have fun!
i studied in barcelona from january-may 2021 and we had a 22-6:00 curfew until the state of alarm ended in may and that night everyone went CRAZY hahaha
This was such a lovely video and it was so, so nice to see you so happy at the end of the video especially!! It's also very funny to hear you say that you've brought British weather over to Spain because that's what my family and I say whenever we go anywhere and it rains (we're from Melbourne, Australia). ALSO I hope your hair stops annoying you soon, but you should know that when you came on camera with the curled hair my first thought was that it looked awesome!!
Don’t know if it is still on Spanish TV, but I got addicted to Pasapalabra- it’s a bit like Countdown, minus the Maths component, and with added anagrams/proverbs...
Hi there! Thank you so much for your video! I was just trying to find some info about the city as I’ve being ask to move to Seville for work.. and I couldn’t find so much info about it in Spanish !!! (So silly hahaha) so I was like let me try in English and here I found you I will check out some more of your videos about… as in trying to figure out where to live and how life is there … at the moment im in tenerife but I lived in London for 5 years so at least for me it was so nice to get to know Seville through you hahahaha Thanks you again!!!!
I'm moving to Spain for my year abroad in September and the idea of not having an oven is stressing me out to the max! I can't imagine living without one, I use mine literally every day. Fingers crossed I'll manage to find an apartment that does have one. Can't wait to see the rest of your vlogs/what you get up to during your time in Sevilla, I've applied to do my work placement in Andalucía so it will be nice to see a bit of it through the vlogs! :)
@@allnightlauren4494 I have an air fryer at the moment, it’s great for things like chips and potatoes but it’s the bigger things I’m worried about. I practically live on Italian food and there’s not really a way to make a decent lasagne without an oven 💔it’s definitely going to be a priority when I’m apartment hunting that I track down a place that has one 😂
Omg that looks amazing I am soo happy for you!!☀️ I'm going to be one year in Spain aswell as an aupair starting this summer and I would really really love to go to Sevilla. Fingers crossed that there is a nice family for me :))
Suerte con todo, Eve!! :) You will LOVE living in Spain I'm sure! If you get the chance and restrictions allow, definitely go and visit Tarragona in Catalunya, that's where I stayed during my year abroad before Covid hit (2019/20 Erasmus lol) - I know it's pretty far from Seville but definitely worth it! Also, Donostia-San Sebastián is stunning too if you've never been there! Disfruta! :)
Hey! I live in Spain, and I live close to Seville, so I recognize everything in the video! Welcome to Spain Amiga! (I would really recommend Torch cafe for coffee, when it reopens, and Seis Resturaunt for a good dinner).
Hello! I'm spanish, and I wanted to explain that, actually, now the state of alarm is over, the restrictions depend on each region of the country. For example, in Valencia (where I live), we still have a curfew, and more restrictions than in other areas of the country. Btw, loved the video. I hope that you enjoy Seville, it's a beautiful city ♥
thank you for bringing us along for ur year abroad!! im doing spanish and chinese starting at uni in September so its so useful to see what my potential year abroad could look like ahhh
I find it funny bc next year I'm supposed to live in the UK and you'll be living in my country ❤ the apartment is so well decorated and equipped. The antique style bricks are so nice and create such a vibe! About the oven, a lot of houses in Spain do have one (it doesn't matter if you live in a flat or a house) but I guess it depends on the owner and what he/she decides to have in the kitchen. But I love cooking dishes in the oven though, now that I think about it, most traditional Spanish dishes don't need one. Hope you have a great time in Seville! Sending you a virtual hug from Madrid ✨
Btw I don't know if you watch any Spanish youtubers but I recommend you a lot one called Violeta West. She's half British and lives in Seville (she's done some videos with her British dad about porridge, Shepherd's pie...). Her content is mainly vlogs, recipes, all about her moving from her parent's house and decorating her new apartment...she's great and it can be useful for you to get used to Seville accent!
Could you talk about how you found accommodation before you arrived? I’m a first year language student and the whole planning process seems a bit daunting
