@@michaelwas8549 They certainly come with the price tag, but the heated cab is amazing! This is my Dads unit, and its way better in storms than my open station Kubota L4701. Youre also only about 15 min away from me!
Great video!! I like how there were poles outlining the driveways. We do the same on our acreage for the Winter months. You learn things like that after peeling off turf trying to find the driveway under several feet of snow.
@@EverythingElliott I mean it is a $15k tractor. Fairly serious garden tractor. If he's not working a real farm or loading trucks etc. full time this is up there
I enjoy watching snowblower videos because I'll be moving to NH soon(ish) and the driveway we'll have is no where big enough for a plow, which i use now. So to see the different setups out there and the different techniques everyone use to do their driveways is all good knowledge for me to put to the test when I'm finally out in NH
Yes a heated cab is the best for snow blowing without a doubt. You should find one for yours or build one. I'm pretty sure you have all the tools and know how to get it done. Something to ponder for next year. It would make for some great channel content . Even if you found an older one and modified it to fit, would be a great asset for the winter months. Great video as always and great snow blowing on the JD.
They actually don’t make a cab for my model tractor, atleast one that I can find. I think I’d be better off building my own rather than modifying one to fit! Thanks for watching!
Hey Elliot that looked like an awful lot of snow for that lawn tractor to move. The kubota with the 7 ft blower would have been more practical for that amount of snow. But conditions like that require a heated cab for sure. We’re directly across from Buffalo in Fort Erie and fortunately for us we only got about a foot of snow. I’m sure your folks are greatful for your assistance. Cheers Mark GO BILLS !!!!!!!!
yeah the wind was a problem that's for sure! The cab with the heater was the solution. My tractor would have cleared the driveway so much faster, but if you take into account the loading and transport of my tractor the JD would take less total time.
I have an X738 with a 54" blower, but I don't have a cab, but I have no where near the amount to plow as you do in this video. I just wish we'd have a decent snow storm instead of the 2"-3" of snow followed by rain that we've been getting this winter.
Nice video. Garden tractors are capable if the machine is spec’d out properly and the surface is relatively flat. My Husqvarna lawn tractor throws ok and has a rear locking differential and 24 hp engine, but no front wheel drive. I’m guessing you’d notice a difference with chains and rear weights.
Fun video Just one question why would you blow snow the way you did As a snow blower operator for 40 yrs you always try to throw with the wind and start on the edge of driveway that’s on your left in your video for instance Why throw over what you already blew Again fun video just an observation plus it gives me more videos to train operators not to do time is fuel is money Nice machine
@@EverythingElliott right on. Understand like I said it was just an observation not ripping your content we all have are good days and bad days With that said love the content
The X730 did very well to blow that amount of snow. You'd need a bigger machine to plow that amount. If that's a relatively typical snowstorm several times/winter in that area, I think a snowblower is the way to go . For the snow we get, 5-10" when we get a storm, a loader mounted plow on my 1025R works fine for me. Beautiful property. Watched your channel several times now. Finally subscribed. Cheers
I'm sure you saw the wind in this video, when a plow is used at my parents property the wind just ends up blowing the plow row right back into the driveway. The snowblower is the superior application in this situation for sure!
