You do realize that Black Magic Woman and the Thrill Is Gone have the same chord progression. The same four chords are played exactly the same way. So Eric knows the song well.
I’ve had the privilege of seeing and listening to Peter Green, who wrote this song, amazingly supporting John Mayall, in Halifax Victoria Theatre, England, Carlos Santana at the Manchester Apollo and Eric Clapton at the Manchester Arena, where I also saw BB King on the same bill as Gary Moore, that’s some guitar talent !
Both of them still have the stuff that made them in the first place. I am so happy to see Carlos and Eric !!!! Sing it Eric. Carlos keep on your playing your music ❤😊 All of Carlos music brings back so many many memories for me. You can instantly hear the music from Carlos, he is poignant and unique. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@suzywalsh7906 I watched the livestream both nights. Eric & Carlos are great together, but towards the end of the song, they seemed a bit disconnected. Not sure if Eric knew they would go into Roadhouse Blues.
No,... I've watched Santana for years,... & that is his style. He turns towards his band often times, & that's how he connects w/ the music, more than just facing the audience, which is also does, but eventually he turns back to the band.
Santana and Eric Clapton just a killer combination of unique style and sound. This is one hell of a phenomenal concert 🎉🎉. Santana and Eric are 2 iconic guitar players and the sound is indescribably insane the way this sounds,it's freaking amazing and sick how this performance is
Rock Royalty!!! Soaring guitars. Eric makes it look so simple, so effortless. And Carlos, what can I say. He takes you on a roller coaster ride. Bravo! Nice to hear this song as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Viva la raza!
@SophieBelleClaptonFrom 70 is last century, when I was high school girl.I saw his concert (80 is) ,when he was in Belgrade -it wasn t good organised, small Hall for so many people,he played alone.I was on the first raw in front of the stage and was afraid in case come pushing forwards... I used to live in London,(knew Fleent who knows Eric )and heard nice story about him. He has something (enough to be star) and each song performed by him is predestiniert to succes. He understand evrething without saying anything. Now he is very proud of his family as before he was proud of his carriera. You are so lovely girl !
Original version written by Peter Green while in Fleetwood Mac w/ the arrangement & feel based on the Beano version of All My Love (which featured Eric Clapton on guitar); Santana didn't seem interested in engaging Clapton in some guitar interplay, only looked his way to point out he missed his cue to start singing the final verse (backup singer took the bull by the horns).
2:20 BMW is a direct ripoff of “TheSuper Natural” which is Peter Green l’s playing on the Hard Road album with John Mayall. Credit to young Carlos for stealing good stuff.
Some people have thought me crazy for saying it ,that the two never crossed paths in late 60's San Fran. BUT , Eric's time stopping solo on Blind FAITH'S "Do What You Like" , has a distinct Latin /Carlos FEEL ,and sense of PACE to it. Santana's best gift to us ? open our eyes , minds hearts.
Today's guitarists--learn from the masters!
2 guitar legends and a superb percussion group!
I been thinking. What nice vocals x
RIP Peter Green..thanks for this!
PETER GREEN was a Blues Master❤
This is a man I have loved for years and this song.

Never left them .
They never lost it.
Fabulous!!!!!!
Eric can improvise any song a master of the art
He watches every other player when he gets the chance. Its like he is always wanting to learn.
You do realize that Black Magic Woman and the Thrill Is Gone have the same chord progression. The same four chords are played exactly the same way. So Eric knows the song well.
@KingKull1971 yes, but he can add so much more in an improvisational manner.
@@KingKull1971 Black Magic Woman and the Thrill Is Gone do not have the same chord progression
@mrsatire9475 Yes, they do. Sorry to burst your bubble
Happy to say I watched them both. Eric i London , Santana in Malta

Fantastic.
Santana's music talked me down from an eight way hit of organic mescaline in the early seventies. Thank you Carlos and band for bringing me back.
What a lovely combination of guitars and triples and judg . Guitars speak . Thank you for sharing. Eric Clapton's songs are beautiful. That's music.

For you maybe nobody is a ‘legend’
Bravo Mr.Clapton, still the best at 78 years old, love to hear you sing this beautiful song of Tito Santana, still love you, my very best 💞

Carlos has his back to audience the whole time!
I agree.
Very unprofessional, and he doesn't want to communicate with Clapton for some reason.

Well stated!! Happy Heritage Month to all!!
Clapton does look effortless because he is doing nothing but trying to find a place on the neck where Carlos is playing.
