Well done. You've had an acknowledgement from Ricky Gervais on Twitter. I'm sure your grandad would be extremely proud. So sorry for you loss. 🙏❤ Such a beautiful film, some great editing skills.
Some of you guys have asked me why I added 2 rather long clips of Tony's father in this video, which had no proper relevance to the edit. I merely added them as they reminded me of my dear grandfather, who had dementia himself and acted strikingly similar to Ray in After Life. My grandpa used to finish up random childhood nursery rhymes we sang to him, even though he could not even remember our names. And whenever he did remember our names, those moments were very emotional for us all, and he always made the funniest remarks that cheered us up. Although for so long I whined about how I lost him due to his dementia 3 years ago, during those moments I still knew a part of his former self was always there, as suggested by those clips.

My Mammy died after 7 years of vascular dementia. I and my brother cared for her 24/7 and I have massively struggled to get over her death What you are done here is absolutely beautiful and I have found it helps me with my mental health and trying to make sense of the world without her Thank you so much Kieran
I have dementia and I've already said to my wife if you want to put me in a home when I get bad then do so, I won't mind at all because it's for her not me
@@DaveB-gm9pj my Mammy had vascular dementia and was bedridden for the last seven years of which my older brother cared for her with a little help from me. We covered her bedroom in photos and memories of her life and it was very helpful to prompt and remind her of her life and her family. She died at the age of 97 surrounded by love but the hard fact is that we had the time to do that and most people don't. whatever you do I am sure it will be for the best and I wish you and your wife all the best for the future God bless you all Kieran Kelly
Losing someone you love is the hardest thing in the world. Sometimes I don’t think I’ll ever heal. Miss you so much, not a day goes by that I don’t think of you
I felt so much empathy watching this show.ur right losing somebody I love is a harrowing experience to live through, tore the heart out of me.4yrs and not a day goes by without thinking of my angel.but love is eternal and I save myself by thinking wht a privilege it was to bask in her light and love
thank you ricky for this show.. i lost my beautiful angel to cancer last year and im still hurting... to anyone who has lost their better half.. hang in there.. it might not get any easier.. but your power to push through that pain is far greater than you can imagine! im proud of you for not giving up! be the person your better half fell inlove with.. its not easy.. but its possible.
Well, you pulled a ‘’Tony’’ here man. Thank you for editing this together. Brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful work. Sorry for your loss. Time does heal. Not everything, but it gets better, no doubt. Thank you for sharing.
I can’t really say anything other than I sympathize with you. Any more than that is needless I believe. Though your love and grief over your grandfather permeates throughout this edit and through your words. In a way, I can empathize with your mental state. All I can say is that may your grandpa be happy and well wherever he is and that I hope you’ll be proud of yourself as much as your grandfather is. This was a great edit. Take your time. - Asterian, a fan〜☆
Thanks so much for your sympathy Aster. And yeah, I hope I can become the man my grandfather always envisioned, and to bring pride upon my name and his
My grandmother had Alzheimers.. she couldn't remember who i was for 7 years... then a week before she passed... after feeding her breakfast... I sat talking with her.. and as i got up to leave, I asked her if she knew who i was and she said "you're my Jessie" and I replied "i love you grandma" I then smiled and walked out.. dropped the dishes in the sink and hitnmy knees. I cried like a baby. I had already lost my parents before she got sick so she was all i had left. 4 days later she started going down hill. She had congestive heart failure.. thats what killed her eventually. Its been 4 years now... I miss her and my mom so much. Cancer and Alzheimers take so much...
There have been a couple of doctors over the years who have tried and tested cures for cancer and their reputations get utterly destroyed. Im not going into details, but, at least in America, cancer is a massive money-maker and will never be cured for this reason. Money has always been more important than life to the people running things. It's so sad.
This is excellently put together!!! I'm here because I'm still grieving for my daughter still after 9 years. I wish you all the best and I think what you have created here is really special ❤
I haven't felt more depressed while watching the show, or hearing about the first time your grandfather died. I can really tell what he meant, means actually, to you if you've made such a beauty. Hope your grandpa does rest in power, sincerely from all your viewers. Other than that, After Life is a fucking genius show, one of the best I've ever seen. If you haven't seen it, go watch it right now. This edit sums up the show and the music connects so well. Good job Iasonas. I hope we have many more gems like these incoming. This show had it all and i'm at a very dark place right now and it made me cry what a show😢💔❤️ Also hope it gets better for you day by day that we make it in the end❤
