The thing with Fergie at the cup final wiz actually aboot Fergie wanting to give rangers a right hammering, Fergie said McLeish and Miller won the cup their self's, meaning Aberdeen only needed 2 men to beat them.

A bit too much credit being given to Aberdeen winning two European trophies. The Cup Winners Cup fair enough but the Super Cup is just one game a bit like the Charity Shield (whatever its called these days) nobody really cares or remembers any team that wins that trophy.

It might be one game now, back then, it was a 2 legged tie. Aberdeen drew with the European Champions, Hamburg, in Hamburg (0-0), then beat them 2-0 at Pittodrie. The Super Cup was once a prestigious trophy to win. Today, it's just an excuse for UEFA to bag more money.
