- It is the end of the broadcast day, and the end of 1984, in Lincoln, Nebraska, with this awesome sign-off. Long-time news staffer and announcer John Ludwig reads the day's headlines, including the first report on Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen's car accident. Plenty of sports and weather reports, and news on New Year's celebrations. And then the sign-off, featuring Nebraska University's Scarlet and Cream Singers singing "The Star Spangled Banner" followed by Mr. Ludwig's announcing before signing out.
Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year and have a great 1985.
Was trying to figure out where that opening credit street scene was taken at... finally pinned it down to the southeast corner of 33rd & "O" Streets, looking west towards downtown.
9:23: Now called a winter weather advisory.
That news anchor looked like he was still stuck in the 70s. LOL!
He was my old high school girlfriends next door neighbor.
Seems like it took forever to get away from these gosh-awful simple styles of televising anything from the studio. Looks so good, finally, in today's competitive markets. I'm a mid-seventies Alum of some part-timer years at 10-11, and it was "quite interesting" in those days. Always a cool bunch of folks to be associated with in any era.. There's probably a video out there somewhere showing that era where the Weather showed actual Meters of the temp, humidity, pressure, etc. - golly, that seemed "high tech" for a short time at least.
KUON 12 Lincoln - Morning Announcement and Opening (7-4-2013)
"KOLN-TV, Channel 10, Lincoln, Nebraska."
Really ?
Nice!
Josh Galka what was that sound at 12:43 anyway?
@@hollypietrzak5214 Probably someone shouting faraway from the mike if he happen to have it on at that point before doing the calls again.
No meteorologist to do the weather?
You'd think have had a nicer backdrop for the news, or at least one that didn't match the announcer's clothes...
KOLiN-TV?
So this is how a small town's TV station operates. 😁
They speak fast at the end of the video?
Speed Kills.
