I've had the pleasure of driving two of them myself last week. It truly is an epic car, the best JLR have built in a very long time. Hopefully the transfer box issues aren't too widespread, and they prove to be as reliable as the old SVR.
Great review as always. One of the most attractive designs and sportiest luxury SUVs. But i think the new Range Rover Sport SV's high all-round performance is very much because of the BMW 4.4 V8 twin turbo. Ufortunately you never reviewed extensively the main competitor who defined this segment.and never gave it the credits it deserves.. The BMW G06 X6 . In the X6M Competition version with this engine is a beast. Same with the quad turbo B57 inine 6 diesel 50D. In the etry level 40i and 30D is one of the best all rounders. This car apart that it has brought the sport SAV coupe concept to the industry that today 75% of the designs are copies of it or have been deeply influenced by it, it is now at this 3rd gen keeping the title of the king of this category, being more technologically advanced and luxurius than the Range Rover Sport, the Audi Q8 and Cayenne coupe.
Quite a achievement to have such a breadth of ability. Not feeling it with Matt Priors recent reviews, dare I say it's all a bit flat. Other online reviewers seem to engage and connect better with viewer.
Cant believe everyone's not up in arms that the supercharged v8 is gone. I really miss sliding my XF-R out of corners at low speed. I've had an m6 gran coupe (same s63 engine as in this video) for a few years since the Jag died after aquaplaning on motorway. M6 hasnt moved in the last 18 months. Was going to sell it but I've been driving a diesel 125d for long enough now that I fancy a bit of a summer blast in the m6.
Take those £6,900 carbon alloys off road? _No thank you!_ But if you've just forked out the greater part of £190,000, then stuffing up a set of carbon wheels would be like average Joe dropping a £1 coin down a drain. EDIT - However. I do feel sorry for kids in 20 years time or so. They'll never ever hear in person how glorious a V8 engine sounds while _"on chat"._
Twenty years is very pessimistic, but at some point for sure hearing a great engine being driven on the road in anger will be very rare, indeed, and it will be a sad day for humanity, whenever it comes, IMO. I hope you're wrong about 20 years, but as I'll be 80 if still alive, I can be selfish and be thankful to have lived throughout peak automobile, even if everything else seems to have gone to sh_t. But the fact is that the majority of millennials aren't much interested in cars and seem to be getting the world they want, so good luck to 'em.
@@nigel.w I concur. In 20 years I'll be in my 80's too. In fact, I was born one day before the drop dead gorgeous E-Type was launched. So it's akin to being my twin. OK. It wasn't ever a V8, but who cares with looks like that?

My wife has a Range Rover and if it was left to me we'd have a reliable X5. Just took LR to court and won my compensation. Their dealerships are shite, their staff arrogant. Anyway, why have this when you're straying into 707 territory. The 707 more performance, more exclusivity, more reliable. Dealerships who welcome you. If you want offroad too the 707 can handle a farm work but not as well as the RR. AML all day, every day.
Far too big and heavy to have Sport in its name. Like to see someone drive this with any enthusiasm over the A57 Snake Pass without ending up in the reservoir 😂
This type of car is just so stupid. If you want a performance oriented vehicle, go and buy something that its intended purpose was to go fast. A Range Rover shouldn’t be doing something like this and the price is just obscene
I was with 5 other petrol heads when I opened this post, we all lol !! Stupid price, a sport for a Range Rover has always sounded ridiculous, road tyres no good on wet grass let alone in mud, does anyone really want 626BHP these days, have fun trying to park it, utter nonsense.

What’s left of Jaguar are good value but RR are rallly going to town on pricing. In the Uk where income stagnant costs and inflation high it’s annoying on all their models.
The music used during the opening scenes demonstrates perfectly everything that is wrong with this car. If you’re the sort of bell that enjoys that intro, you’ll love this car. Remember when Land Rover made cars for the countryside at a premium yet sensible price. Not an ounce of tinted windows or carbon ceramic, no ‘murdered out’ or heavy cars pushed hard. If you want a fast JLR SUV why wouldn’t you buy the lighter more agile 5 Litre Jaguar F-Pace SVR? It’s just as quick and they aren’t being stolen every 90 seconds - oh and you save £100k 😂😂😂😂😂
The stock wheels and tires always let cars like these down. Also the carbon ceramic brakes sounds like a hilarious choice lol. Gravel and stones can damage the rotors. But a Russian channel compared the outgoing svr against an lx570 both with off-road tires and it did either the same and sometimes better vs the lx.
No one is going to off-road this so it doesn't matter. It'll be driven by mom's on the school run and twats who black out the windows and cruise round suburbs bothering young women and parking on pavements outside chicken shops.

Gutted they ditched the home - grown 5.0 V8 for something generic. I don't care if it's objectively inferior, it had its own distinctive character.
Yeah that Supercharged V8 was a gem of an engine, such a great sound and character.
I am pretty sure they made the change because of the strict EPA regulations. Also, they used to put this engine in them in the early 2000s
I have Range rover sports Autobiography since last six month, and iam very satisfied with the car,it's awesome pice of machine.
