I think this performance is more raw and powerful than the studio. Peter was one of the most unique and influential songwriters, possibly of all time. He never got the recognition he deserved as the musician, thinker, or person that he was, until he died. When he died, it was taken like Dimebag Darrels death, possibly because people realized what they'd missed out on/ taken for granted.
I somehow love this raw version more than the studio version. Such a powerful voice... It hurts to know he's gone... But still, Petrus will forever live on in his music. Four of the most talented geniuses.
Title cut of the Bloody Kisses album stands as one of the best TON songs ever. Excellent live performance here and terrific sound and video upload from 'dontbeafraid08' (considering its 17 years ago!) Thanks for sharing this !This cut has all the aspects that make for a great TON song and a young sober Peter Steele performing it certainly doesnt hurt. Sure will miss this band.. I wish he had left us with one final swan song album...who would have thought 2007's DEAD AGAIN would be the last?
This is awesome my all time favorite band I'm 39 and been listening to the guys sence I was 15 and they still my favorite there's no other band like these guys no band can touch them or even come close to it. rest in peace peter
Simply amazing! This song is a true anthem and it should be up there with one of the best songs of all time. Regardless of the dark, death overtones it still takes you on a deep, mournful yet wonderful journey. It's a masterpiece from the one and only genius that was our beloved Peter Steele. R.I.P. Green Man you are so very missed. Your music lives on. 💚🎶🎸⚰
bloody kisses - Is the song that hooked me into Type O/Pete Steele fan: this is my favorite gothic vampiric tune I've ever listened to, and this live relic retro recording is marvelous or fabulous indeed. Bloody Kisses inspired me in my writing about vampire girls?! and I've been a fan since 1994 -
@@666melancias Same way Halloween in Heaven is about Dimebag Darrell yet he's not mentioned once in the song...believe it or not bands take liberties with their lyrics to express themselves. Shocker
i met the band once. met pete @ least 4 times. one time i asked for an autograph, didnt have anything to write on. i cant make this chit up, he reaches into his pocket & pulls out an actual printed food stamp, & signed it. i'll never forget you man. thanks for the mammories & bein so f-ing cool to your fans!! oh & sally is, was, & will forever be a better drummer then that johnny, tommy lee wannabe. just sayin.
@AshesOfHopeJT I disagree; Steele has proven himself capable of projecting with low notes live on numerous occasions. He could've definitely handled singing this in the original octave if he had tried. But yeah, it really makes it a lot less creepy to hear it an octave higher.
What's really cool about this video? Not everyone with a phone up recording (to enjoy at a later time???) Yes I'm aware this was recorded before smartphones etc......memories aren't always supposed 2 be recorded i think. As in; if every moment is recorded, then recording memories becomes diluted. Anyways, love this vid, thanks for posting it. TON in their prime
+HamerSlammerSeries Actually, it's Johnny, sans goatee and long hair. Go to the 3:30 mark, and as the camera moves in closer to Peter, take a close look at the drummer. That's Johnny's nose, and that's Johnny.
It is Johnny. Sal almost did not tour with Type O. He only did shows when type O was playing weekend gigs in New York. When he left the band (end of 93 i think) and johnny arrived, Pete left his job at the Parks and started touring seriously. Sal was a good drummer but the band did not like him. IMO Johnny is better.
@@mirvin1977 Johnny got along better with the rest of the band, as I suspect he just wanted to drum but Sal had ideas of his own he probably wanted to see put into songs but was overruled/outvoted. Playing wise, I think Sal is/was the better drummer. It's cool he and Johnny are friends tho, and since he lets Johnny drum for his band, Sal must respect Johnny's abilities.

This is one of those videos that makes me sad I’ll never get to see them live
Pete's ghost disliked this just for the heck of it.

This is it at its raw form. This is TON. This makes you feel good.

Some may disagree but This maybe their best song

I love how his voice sounds in the live versions of the song, the higher range he sang at gave it a weirdly different tonality, rest in peace
