  • Since my magnetic loop antenna uses an FT-140-43 toroid for feeding, I have always found it bothersome to have to add of remove turns to the toroid for band selection. Finally I decided to build a band selector described in this video.

I have little use for metric, but you are correct that metric is better for applications such as this. 👍

Yup, a tapped ferrite trafo works well.

I enjoyed seeing the build in tinker cad. Its nice to see something practical being made from scratch with a 3d printer instead of just downloaded figurines, or not being shown at all how a part was designed with the "I just made this 3d printed part" non-explanations. Good Job!

That was a great 3-D print project! My homebrew loops have always been mono-band.... I hope this multiband solution works well for you - I went many years being 'cursed' with not having room for HF antennas - but the mag-loop saved the day!!

Very cool, Gil. Love your DIY loop! I can't get over how expensive these things are buying from the usual sellers. I have some vacuum caps so I'll probably build one of these myself too. ps. Your private email is showing in the TinkerCad window.

Thanks, no big deal :-) The capacitors are the expensive parts.. It is however often the only option for apartments but fortunately performance is very good..

Very nice Gil! How do you go about calculating the inductances? It would be nice to see the output on an antenna analyzer. Thanks ad 73 de W2DAB

There is only one high voltage variable capacitor at the opposite side of the loop, around 300 to 400pf. See the loop construction videos..

You should get and post a few alternate crypto addresses (other than just BTC). Perhaps Eth, ADA & LTC.
Sending BTC generally has a higher minimum (>$20) + fees, on most exchanges.

I've already paid for a beer with BTC, no problem. Have had BTC for a few years now it has evolved more as a settlement layer. The Lightning Network is ideal for transferring small amounts. If I've managed to copy your BTC address from the description, I'll be happy to send you a little greeting.

It's just a few SATs, you deserve more. you can control the transaction speed with the network fee, which is set relatively low in my case - but it's on the way.

Bonjour, non. C'est en fait un transformateur qui dans ce cas sert à alimenter l'antenne. Ceci dit les deux ajustent l'impédance, donc ce n'est pas aussi simple qu'un "non" catégorique ;-)
